I’ve always been an athlete and always eaten healthy, but after a while, when you don’t know how to cook, food gets pretty boring. I’ve also always thought that these pre-made food deals were only for rich people, and I was definitely not one of them. Well, fast forward to this week and I’m here to tell you I think it’s great. I decided to take the plunge and buy a starter 5 day(10 meals lunch and dinner) for this week and so far the food has rocked. You can either eat them cold if it’s a chicken or beef salad, or heat them up in the microwave or put it in a pan over the stove for a few minutes with olive oil. I’ve done both and really, the food is good. One thing I will say however, is that they pick the menu,(although I’ve heard they can customize it a bit) so if you’re a super ultra picky eater, I wouldn’t try this. They send out an email(or you can look on the website before signing up) saying what each breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal is for the week after. I grew up with 4 brothers and so when there’s food in front of you, you eat it, therefore it works for me. You can pick either paleo strict, paleo plus grain, or vegetarian. I’m not even into the paleo diet, I just like the healthiness of the food. You pick up the meals every Monday and Thursday from a crossfit gym near you(there’s tons around — mine is less than a mile from my house), or you can have it delivered. I’m going to continue as long as my wallet says I can :)

This is the best meal service ever. Food is great and they can customize. It has changed our life and I am truly being honest. My whole family have different food preferences and they can meet them all. Thanks so much!

Origin Meals are the best thing that’s happened to me in awhile. My husband and I have been subscribing now for about 3 weeks. Healthy eating plus convenience is something I’m totally willing to splurge on. My husband? Not so much. But he has been so impressed with the food that his tune has changed. We’re busy professionals and this meets our needs so well. We’ve gone through some Whole30-ish phases this past year, and while it was satisfying, the time investment was ridic! I love that we can eat just as well with Origin, and spend 5 – 10 min simply heating something up. I also love the options available: the hubby gets the XL size, and I’m considering trying out a few vegetarian weeks, rather than just strictly paleo. The flavors are fresh and complex, the portion sizes are generous and there is a ton of variety. Each time I sit down to a meal(which I just did: a Chicago-Style Italian Beef Bowl, uhh YUM!), I think«please don’t change a thing, Origin Meals», that’s how dependent I plan on becoming on the service! However, if you do change anything — more pick-up locations are always welcome.

I’ve had such a fantastic experience with Origin Meals. As a law student, I go through these ridiculous swings of very healthy and very unhealthy. As in: summer, vegetables and CrossFit. Fall semester, beer and pizza. Winter break, paleo and spin class. Spring semester, beer and pizza. This pattern is bad for the wallet and for any desire I may have to be in shape. Enter my pledge this year to keep up my winter break health routine during spring semester. What a concept! Given that I have no time for cooking, I decided on a whim to look around for a meal delivery company that did paleo meals in my area. Happened upon Origin Meals through a simple Google search, and man, am I glad I did. You pick them up at the most convenient CrossFit gym for you, which is the St. Paul gym for me, at a super easy .5 miles away. I run by in the morning on Mondays and Thursdays on the way to work to get my meals and know I’ll have bomb lunches and dinners through the entire week. And they are good. Like really, really good. I haven’t had a single meal I’ve disliked or even thought was just okay up until this point. I have to try hard to make stuff this good at home, and I ain’t so bad at the cookin’. I find the prices really reasonable as well — I spend a little more than I spend when I’m cooking for myself with similar quality ingredients(curse you, Whooole Fooooods!!! I love you so.), and no time commitment required. I plan on being a customer for a long time to come!
