History
Established in 2004.
Everest Café & Bar opened in February 2004 with a focus on promoting a healthy lifestyle by serving healthy, tasty and nutritious meals.
Chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes are the leading causes of death in the United States. Heart disease, stroke and diabetes are the first, third and eighth leading causes of death in the City of St. Louis. We believe that diet is an important factor in preventing chronic diseases and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
At Everest Café & Bar, we prepare fresh heart-healthy meals for our customers. We do not use any processed food, ghee, butter, or cream (except for some Indian items) to prepare our meals. Our chef and owner Dr. Devi States, buys fresh and organic vegetables at the local market every day.
Meet the Business Owner
Devi S.
Business Owner
Devi grew up in the impoverished village of Tilche in Nepal. By the age of 15, both of his parents passed away and he was left to roam homeless in the streets of Kathmandu. Fortunately, he met a young Dr. James States, an American who just climbed Mt. Everest. Seeing potential in Devi, he adopted him and brought him to the United States. Now almost 30, he has one Bachelors in Psychology, two Masters, and one Doctorate. With his experience in the field and in the books, he set up a restaurant that will, one day, be worthy of his homeland.
