History

Established in 1988.

David began his career in photography shooting sports teams, portraits and weddings for a northern Illinois studio and newspaper while still in high school.

With a BA in photography from SIUC (87), his efforts concentrated on commercial product, food and beverage photography for advertising, catalogs, and B2B at his Chicago studio.

In 2007, merging digital photography and retouching, David introduced fine portraiture of kids & families and headshots for actors, models and business professionals.

2013 brings Rinker Photography to St. Charles, IL where he shoots portraits and products in his new studio. He can assemble a portable studio at your office, school, or special event, and outdoor locations are possible too.

Meet the Business Owner

Dave R.

Business Owner

David was behind the lens by age 12. Yearbook, local paper, B&W printer, PP of A training, portrait studio, wedding photographer — all before college! At SIU Carbondale, he discovered product photography then opened a commercial studio in Bucktown in 1988.

1996 marked a move to Chicago’s Ukrainian Village community where his commercial product work continued with the renovation of a new live/work property while raising two boys with his wife, Sherri. Dave’s concentration in the city focused primarily on studio photography. The viability of digital imaging and a newly gentrified neighborhood renewed his interest in photographing people in addition to commercial projects.

The quest for great schools for two growing boys marked a move to St. Charles, IL in 2013. David is now available for projects at your location, outdoors or in his flexible, dedicated home studio.

Mr. Rinker is still available for commercial projects of any size.

An appointment is required.
