Wolf’s Museum Of Mystery

I’ve heard about this place from a source I can’t remember where I heard from; however, I so proud of learning about it because it delivered expectation!
I finally arrived to St. Augustine this past weekend with a friend for the first time in my life. This place was a must visit place. I love creepy, bizarre, eerie, spooky, unique, and different beyond normal. The exterior is displayed as a side show exhibit that grabs your attention and draws you into the shop. Spooky music is playing to set the mood. Your curiosity starts to inspire you to go in and look around.
Admission is $ 5 per person as of April 30^th, 2016. Then you can use the ticket for $ 5 towards merchandise purchase. It’s a win win experience. The staff was very friendly, so kind, and greeted us promptly. There are a few animals inside that are cute as well and friendly. Beware of the killer white rabbit out in the courtyard outback! You’re been warned!
The rooms are small, but are very detailed with a specific theme. I thought it was awesome you can purchase some artifacts in here for reasonable prices. The upstairs exhibits hold the more intense themed rooms: horror, serial killers, and a few surprises.
I spent a long time in here and checked out everything. I experienced no problems in here at all. This is place you must definitely check out when visiting St. Augustine. Awesome experience. Also, my friend & I did a tarot card reading outside on the front porch. The lady was spot on my reading in my life. I thought that was clever without knowing me or asking me questions.

Crazy stuff and well worth the $ 5 admission.
If you catch the time just right you can see the fire breathing performers out front. Don’t be scared. Everyone is really cool.

This place is unsafe, they think fire accidents are funny, I wouldn’t set foot in a death trap like that.

Excellent!!! Totally worth the $ 5, so many cool and interesting things! Really loved the serial killer memorabilia, all super interesting. We went to Ripley’s the same day and Wolf’s was much better in my opinion, and $ 10 cheaper. I would say it’s a must see for anyone visiting the area.

Lived in Jax for 4 years and finally got around to going to this place right before I moved to the great white north.

The staff is fun and friendly. THERES A PUPPY OUT BACK. You get a credit for the gift shop with your ticket.
The only bad thing is the constantly burning incense, I have very sensitive lungs so it was a little hard to handle.
Dont let that deter you though!!! This place is a gem!

Places like this are what makes St. Augustine a great place to go. We really liked this place. They have some great collections of weird stuff that I’ve never seen anywhere before. If you like different the $ 5 admissson is well worth it.
Some of the things on the second floor are a little strong for pre-​teen kids but there are still many oddities that even younger kids will enjoy.
The owners are extremely nice and even pointed out a few things to us. Hearing the history behind some of items really enhanced the hour and a half we spent there.
This is a must see for locals and tourists looking for something they’ve never seen before.

This place is really weird, creepy and fun. I actually enjoyed this more than Ripleys Believe It Or Not… And it’s only a fraction of the size. I would definitely recommend checking this place out while in St Augustine. This museum is not for children though.

Super cool & creepy place. Has a bunch of macabre stuff. Only $ 5 per person to get in, well worth it for the hour & a half you’ll spend there. All sorts of stuff (& all of it for sale!)
They also have a few animals. A huge wolf-​like dog, more than a few cats & a chinchilla (that bites, so keep your fingers to yourself!)
A great way to spend an hour or so.

My wife and I visited the museum today and loved it! Everything from the macabre, to steampunk, to sexy gothic pictures is here. Incredible voodoo collection as well. My favorite items were probably the paintings by Jack Kevorkian. If you are interested in voodoo, aliens, serial killers, big foot, skulls, Lizzy Borden, death, artwork, or pop culture horror, this is the place for you. Entry was $ 5 a person, and that $ 5 could be used as a credit if you chose to buy something from the museum — yes, a lot of the exhibits are for sale (and many of them won’t break the bank). Visit this museum!

If you are a fan of horror movies, or off the wall, and out of the ordinary, than this museum is for you.
This is actually a house owned by Wolfgang Van Mertz. There are collections compiled of different eras of scary movies, as well as artifacts of items that may have been used in the movies.
I would explain this as a Horror movie or Halloween Museum. Interesting to say the least.
Incense is in full affect here. If you are sensitive to the smell, it is there. My poor doggie got irritated by the smell.
There is a big dog, several cats, and a chinchilla as well.

This was such a hidden Gem. Me and my girlfriend walked by it and deliberated if it was worth going inside, then was surprised to find that out entrée would go toward credit on anything we want to buy. The curator informed us what this place was about, and it gave me a real Ripley’s feel to it before it became all family orientated. There was a grand assortment of weird creepy stuff here! some outlandish collections, some politically incorrect memorabilia, and things not for the faint of heart. Excellent place! I highly recommend going.

What a great place! A very cool assortment of interesting themed rooms and fantastic exhibits. Clearly a labor of love for Wolf and everyone involved as it shows on each of the room’s meticulously crafted themes. Certainly the best in St Augustine!

A very cool assortment of oddities mostly for sale. However, the oddities are very pricey. I think it’s worth the $ 10 admission price if you like weird things. They do tell you that you can use the $ 10 towards merchandise, but all the things we were interested in were too pricey for us. The coolest thing about the place is that you can rent the upstairs room for events. This room is full of creepy cool things, some seating and a television. It would be the coolest spot for a small Halloween gathering or a date night horror movie watching night! I am so jealous that we don’t have a place like this where me and my horror hound could have a date night!

Ok, really of more interest for the sci fi movie lover. Lots of movie history and artifacts. Exhibit of live mermaid at the time I visited.

Wolf’s is a real treasure. The admission, a mere five dollars, allows you to see a varied collection of exhibits all connected to themes of the supernatural, horrific, and ghoulish. Some exhibits are fairly educational and could fit into a more mainstream museum – such as the 19^th century vampire hunter’s case of tools of the trade – while others are more fantastical. The alien mortuary in example is like something out of a Ben-​10 episode: as funny and gaudy as it is creepy by far. And you kind of have to approach this museum with the mentality of a tween boy: if you say «that’s not exactly true» or «that looks more like something from a B movie» then you’re missing the point. This museum is designed to be fun and is as much a museum to the collective American psychosocial approach to horror and the abject as a museum of things that are supposed to be horrific, supernatural, or unexplained. And it has great worth in that regard: Wolf’s sums up the tourist experience, how we expect and allow ourselves to see or experience something thrilling or scandalous or scary on vacation that we’d not probably want in our daily lives.
Saint Augustine is creepy already with its legions of supposed ghosts and variety of ghost tours, but Wolf’s adds something fantastical into the mix. It’s like staying up until the wee hours of the morning in middle school to catch the creature feature and it’s more than worth its price of admission.

My friend took me here for the first time and I am already anxious to go again. So when coming here you walk up onto the porch of a two story house in the midst of Old-​town St. Augustine. There is already a creepiness in the air while you hear the spooky music and décor in the front windows. They are open till 10pm, but if for some reason that changes they post the times on the door. When you walk in you will go through a heavy velvet draped curtain to the admission desk. The staff was super friendly and hospitable. I wasn’t sure what to expect but right away I knew I was going to like this place.
The admission was $ 5.00 per person, and to top it off, you can use your ticket vouchers as a credit towards a purchase from their store. We had a $ 10.00 credit between my friend and I and ended up getting a bottle of Alien Blood Hot Sauce which cost $ 10.00, literally it was a trade out — the bottle for the vouchers. Now that I think about it, I should have bought more to further support this venue. I was impressed with the service and hospitality and the overall friendliness of the staff.
So to set your expectations, once inside, everywhere you look there is something awesome to see. From alien décor and memorabilia to an altar set up within a voodoo room. Liz Borden memorabilia and murder room. Antique and collectible of rare oddities including the first Quija Board to be introduced in the United States, There is a horror room that consist of 4 rooms and is super freaky, this space can actually be rented for a horror movie night, which I can tell you would be awesome. Next time I am in St. Augustine totally going to do that.
I won’t give to much more away as there is much more and plenty to see, and for $ 5.00 why not???

If you’re into freaky taboo topics, then this place is perfect or you. I from an entire room dedicated to Lizzie Borden to miscellaneous voodoo trinkets, this place has plenty to offer. The entry fee is so cheap that it’s reason enough to give this place a shot. Not to mention the $ 5 entry fee is good towards any purchase whatsoever in their gift shop– no minimum!
Also, gotta love the friendly customer service and the adorable shop dog :)

So we found this place and I’m so glad we did! My teenage daughter and her friends had a blast here last night! The museum itself has everything from from corny to scary, very cool and worth the $ 5 admission. We also rented the screening room for a party which again, considering the cost usually incurred for a party somewhere was a real bargain and they really enjoyed themselves, a must do for horror movie fans! The owner is very friendly and helpful as well.

We stumbled upon this little gem in old St. Augustine after another great stop, Stogies (cigar and craft beer bar). 5 dollar admission into what looks like an old 2 story house. On the patio creepy music was playing which drew us in! Inside? Amazing, rare and some dark oddities. Art everywhere as well, the owner was very hospitable and friendly and let us walk around at our leisure to explore. Some of the crazy things we saw? Nazi relics, sideshow art, john Wayne gacy stuff, horror memorabilia, collectible toys etc. !!! The owner also added the upstairs horror themed room was also available to rent if you wanted a creepy spot to watch a movie with friends (couch and large screen tv) would be such a cool idea! Def don’t miss this place– warning though– not for the light hearted (;
