The carpet cleaning technician arrived on time. He was friendly but more importantly professional. He took time to ensure his equipment did not damage my hardwood floors and walk me around before cleaning my bedroom carpets, for me to show my troubled spots. Afterwards to ensured my carpets were spotless.

Best rated in NOVA? I’m sorry, but this was the most unprofessional organization I have ever dealt with. My roommate and I requested a move out cleaning, and selected a two hour maximum. They showed up an hour later than the scheduled time window because the home they tended to prior took ‘longer than expected’. When they finally arrived, I told the woman, «Okay, I will be back in two hours.» She said, «No, we have 3 maids. I brought you one extra person for free. It will not take two hours.» I told her, «I didn’t request a third maid. Appreciate the thought, but I paid $ 190 for two hours.» (Also. $ 190 was a RIP off. just wait. you’ll see why.)
We returned after that time and to our surprise… the bathrooms and kitchen were the only thing touched. I will add, they did a great job in the bathrooms and kitchen. BUT Dust everywhere else. Main entrance tile completely dirty. Carpets not vacuumed. I said. «I’m sorry, can you at least please vacuum?» She told me, «You pay more, and we do.»
With my frustration, as you can probably imagine, I call the owner. John. John within the first 2 minutes cut me off and said, «You paid two hours AND I gave you another maid for free. You only booked two. If you want them to stay later that’ll cost more.»
Okay, John.
1) I know the third maid tagged along because they were running late from the previous house, you weren’t doing us a favor whatsoever. I’m not an idiot. Three maids and they accomplished 3 bathrooms and a kitchen in two hours and didn’t touch anything else? Disappointing.
2) When we initially looked at this company for cleaning the carpets in the home, he priced us pretty high without even seeing the home. We found another company that actually came on-​site for free to do an estimate, charged less, and did an AMAZING job. John was angry when we cancelled on the carpet cleaning service, and went on to tell me how much his truck was worth (I don’t care how much your truck cost), and that if we want to actually get our security deposit back that we MUST go with them because he’s seen this time and time again.
All in all, John, we will never utilize your companies services again. Ever. Customer service is key to happy customers. For the record, your maids were very nice and did a great job. Too bad the overall experience was not as top notch.

I used Smart Choice a few times and they were good. Easy to book with and showed up always on time. So I was very surprised with the last time they came (a Friday) as it was so disappointing. Still dusty with visible dust balls on the floor and marks in the sink. It’s like they didn’t vaccuum at all and did just cursory wipe downs without actually cleaning the kitchen. I called to complain as soon as I got home (an hour after they left) and the lady was very nice and offered to have them come back out to recify but they couldn’t come back out until Monday which didn’t work for me. She gave me a discount off the service which was appreciated but the work was so sub par that they lost my trust and future business. My recommendation on if you use them is to outline your expectations in advance.

PROS: very professional over the phone and setting up my appointment. The ladies showed up on time and were polite and professional. They were flexible considering I was in the middle of moving out and didn’t have everything out yet. They worked hard and did an outstanding job. The place looks much better than I expected. I would use them again and highly recommend them.
CONS: the only reason I’m not giving them 5 stars was a little issue with miscommunication. I was originally quoted a price and then later found out the charge would be significantly more. I questioned this and I will say the gentleman I spoke with on the phone was professional and we worked out a reasonable agreement. I just would encourage any future customers of theirs to ensure they understand their rate. Also emphasize that you want to be contacted before they go over the original estimated time, because that can result in higher charges. Other than that, everything was perfect. I would definitely use them again.

I called them and was able to get my carpet cleaning appointment and sectional sofa. cleaningscheduled the same day.
The technician called a half hour before to say he was on route– He was friendly and efficient and even asked me to inspect before he packed his equipment away.
He demonstrated a stain treatment that was unbelievable. He poured coffee onto a white carpet, it beaded up and floated on the surface and was easy picked up with a paper towel.
So I got that as well. I would and will highly recommend them.

Smart Choice Cleaning to the rescue!
Relatives announced they were coming to town on short notice and Smart Choice Cleaning came to the rescue making sure the house was clean enough for a 2 year old to eat off the floor! Thankfully! The process for getting started and scheduled was easy and efficient. The rates were affordable and the 2 person crew was on time and thorough! They worked quickly and even tolerated my overly friendly dog. Save yourself the headache and call Smart Choice!

I’m really disappointed in Smart Choice. The last three times I’ve used their services things have not gone as I’d expected. I hired them to clean the grout in my master bath and they grazed the marble. Another time, again having my grout cleaned, they did not clean behind the toilet, stating their machine does not clean in those spots. They had to come back to clean it by hand. This last time my steps were not cleaned well. They now have to come back and clean them again. In their defense the young man who cleaned was very respectful and professional.

Prompt, affordable and detailed!
I called Smart Choice Cleaning at the last moment to see if they were available to clean an apartment that was about to be turned over to a new renter. They were able to send a crew out with only two days notice (which was one day before the new renter was to move in) which was a relief! The crew worked very efficiently and did a super thorough cleaning.
I’ll hire Smart Choice Cleaning again in a heartbeat!

I am not very happy with their service, they did such a lousy job. I talked to the lady and explain the situation. She responded «we are not guaranteed our service». They charged $ 100 for cleaning one room with no guarantee their work. I’ll take my business somewhere else.

I hired them to do a move out cleaning (floor to ceiling) on my house as well as carpet cleaning. They did a great job. I mean the place sparkled. The carpets looked brand new. The cleaning ladies took a bit longer than the two hour estimate but they only charged me for two hours. Very satisfied!

I tired «Merry Maids» and «The Maids» and while the cost was comparable and services provided were similar I didn’t get as good of quality. I live in a town home and pay $ 140/​cleaning with my signed contract. The initial one time cleaning was $ 200. Again, this is similar to most other companies.
What I do like about Smart Choice is they bring all their own supplies however, there are some special cleaning supplies I like and I leave those out where necessary. But not only do they vacuum EVERYWHERE, but mop hard wood and tile, dust and clean the exterior of all appliances (interior when requested), clean bathrooms top to bottom, and clean glass doors and windows but they take out their garbage, fold my toilet paper/​paper towels in pretty designs (lol). In addition, they’ve made the bed when I’ve stripped it and left the sheets for them, same with bathroom towels.
They do a lot of work. My town home is 3 levels with a finished basement and 2 full and 2 half bathroom and about 2200 sqft. They send three girls and they get it done in generally 2 hours, unless I ask for additional cleaning. They clean all 3 floors with each visit. I sometimes leave them notes to clean inbetween seat cushions, or spend extra time scrubbing tub, or clean window ledges and they do it all.
I had one issue where they knocked the shower door out of the track and within an hour of them leaving their repair guy was there fixing it. I mean talk about service! We have not had any problems with theft. I generally leave a lock box on the door for them to come while I run errands. But there are times when I am there and I just go to a different room with our dog.
Updated on12/​16/​2013 — We left Smart Choice because the track in our shower was bent three times from the maids stepping on the frame. While it was fixed each time we needed someone who cared as much about our property as their own. Additionally, I found an individual who would do the same work for $ 90 taking 3 – 4 hours to complete.

Excellent service! My daughter rubbed vasoline into the carpet and after my «self» care I was left with a mess. I called Smart Choice because I had used them before in my home and office and was very happy with their service. Honestly when I called the stain was so awful i didn’t have faith much could be done to restore the carpet.
Smart Choice easily accommodated my request for a scheduled cleaning. The tech sent was professional and courteous. They did a great job!!! You would never even know that the carpet was covered in grease.
Subsequently, I have also had them treat my favorite love seat which my cats mistook as a litter box :(. They cleaned the piece and you can’t even smell a hint of urine. Trust me, my nose knows!!! I am extremely grateful they help save that piece of furniture!

We were hosting some out-​of-​town guests for new years and we were running out of time to deal with cleaning the house. We called a couple different services and the typical reply was that they would get back to us in January to give us an estimate. We called Smart Choice on a recommendation from friends and they put us on the schedule the next day.
The crew of 4 arrived on time and asked us to let them know what we wanted to have done. The brought their own equipment and cleaning supplies and got right to work starting at the top of the house and worked their way down. They dusted and cleaned everything — even under all the little things on the dressers and under the beds. We were very pleased and we have signed up for regular service.

This is a review for move out/​move in cleaning service. I was moving into a house that was left in VERY poor shape, no one had cleaned in weeks. Smart Choice sent three employees out, they cleaned every inch of the house, in around 2 hours.
I highly recommend getting your new house cleaned before you move in, it is really one less thing to have to worry about. If you are in the DMV, contact Smart Choice.

I was given a gift certificate for Smart Choice Cleaning as a birthday present. I needed my 1400 sf home «deep» cleaned to get it ready to sell; I was told by two different people on the phone that my $ 250 certificate would be more than enough to cover the cost. When the three-​person team showed up, they spent the first 15 minutes of time arguing that they wouldn’t be able to adequately clean the home the allotted time and I would have to pay extra to cover any time they spent after 2.5 hours. I wasn’t happy about this, but agreed to it.
They actually took less than 2.5 hours to finish the house and packed all their equipment into the car before asking me if I was happy with the service. At this point it was after dark (they had been late showing up) and I couldn’t see as well as I normally could. I walked through and gave everything a rudimentary look and said it looked decent. I couldn’t see how this «move-​out» cleaning was different than a regular cleaning, but I don’t like arguing with people or challenging them and I figured these were the cleaning experts and they wouldn’t do a half-​ass job.
I noticed little things, like that they hadn’t dusted under things or the bottom shelves of things over the next day, but then I left town for three weeks. When I got back and started packing everything up to move, I noticed just how bad they did. Nothing had been moved when they dusted, it looked like they had just swept dust under my rugs, and there were dead bugs and dust all over my window sills. I called the manager, who told me that things get dirty over a few weeks and that I should read the reviews on Unilocal.I’m sorry, but I know how dirty my house gets in a month and this was way more than that. Even my realtor and stager asked when the cleaners were coming (after Smart Choice cleaned) and that was only a week after the cleaning.
I usually pay $ 110 for a regular house cleaning and they do a better job than these people. I do not recommend their services and suggest they work on their customer service instead of arguing with people that complain.
