Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt

My family goes once in a while to treat ourselves. This is our favorite fro yo place in Springfield. They have the best flavor’s and introduce great new flavor’s often too.
Their staff is always pleasant. They’re always making sure the place is clean and tidy which I like. We are repeat customers.

I loved this place. They had a ton of different froyo flavors. And their toppings were fresh and they had a good variety of toppings, too. And FOUR different flavors of boba.
The staff was very nice and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. And they set me up with a punch card type system card which I thought was cool.
The store was very clean, as well, which is always a plus.
I’ll definitely be back.

So delicious. Orange leaf has a great variety of options for frozen yogurt and toppings galore. Upon each arrival you’re greeted by an employee and offered a sample if you’d like to sample any of the flavors! They also offer a variety of bowl sizes and a divider if you don’t want to mix flavors.
I enjoy the atmosphere of orange leaf it feels like a super fun and lively frozen yogurt shop whether you are an adult or child or just bringing in kids.
I really love this place. plus the employees are always so friendly and that makes such a difference when I select where I want to go to get some frozen yogurt!

Behold Unilocaler. A land of plastic chairs and self serve yogurt. Delight at the classic vanilla, quiver at the brownie batter, ache with the cheesecake, and crumple to the insulin pile driver of the toppings bar.
Nay! Winter isn’t cumming. It has been captured, locked into swirling vortexes, and enhanced with flavor. Left to do your bidding. Pull a handle for it frosty release or boldly pull a mix handle and have two at once. SCANDALOUS!
After you’ve taken your fill and payed the gate keeper you may retire to the sitting room. Fluffy plether couches await to embrace you or perhaps you are destined slidey sadness of a plastic chair. Either way your experience will be made better by the moth-​go-​nomic weaponry they refer to as a spoon.

Orange leaf always has plenty of flavors to choose from and a great offering of toppings. However, yesterday they offered next level customer service as well. There was someone to help with samples and constantly ensuring customers needs were met. This was not expected at all but if this is the route they are taking it will be hard to beat. Whether you want something fruity, want your chocolate fix, or have a weird craving, Orange Leaf will meet your needs.

Delicious and fun place for kids. My son loved picking his own toppings. Place was clean and staff was friendly.

Delicious and it helps you control portions. Orange Leaf is fun because it’s a place you go with other people.
The problem we have is the toppings! Temptation! These add more calories while also raising the cost. At Orange Leaf you are charged by the weight of the sundae you just made.
If we’re not going to Orange Leaf, we get:
1. Whichever name-​brand frozen yogurt is on sale at the grocery store, or
2. The cheapest sherbet at the store,
3. or Blue Bell ice cream at the store,
4. or we get ice cream in the drive-​thru at McD’s or Sonic
P. S. If McDonald’s ever figures out how to sell larger yogurt parfaits with the granola toppings, they might become a serious competitor with these types of places.

My kids love this place. Each trip they can concoct a new mixture of fy and toppings. What’s not to love? I like their obscure toppings like the caviar style sweets and the Michigan toppings. Who would’ve guessed. I recently heard they do catering. That’s a great idea for this summer!

Not impressed. Frozen yogurt. Whoop tee do.
Like Cory says, you have to deal with a bunch of snot nosed infants while waiting to pay. Sure they have a lot of different flavors to choose from, but if I want self service I’ll go to a gas station. If you want to eat in you have to sit in one of the crappy plastic chairs that look like they were rejected from an Austin Powers movie.
I think this place is perfect for adolescents and affluent south-​siders that want to relive the days of their youth when they worked at McDonalds over the summer and go to work the ice cream machine.

Great frozen yogurt and topping selection. The chairs are very uncomfortable, and there were no high chairs. You would think a frozen yogurt place would have high chairs…

My 7yo boy thought this would be a great place to take Grandma and Grandpa. Place is kept clean and they have a variety of fresh fruit toppings! Affordable too! Coffee flavor was the best one so far.

A favorite stopping place for our whole family!

This place was a real treat for the family. Lots of choices and you control how much you out in. Price tends to run about $ 5 per person so its a little high but worth the visit.
Good but a little pricey IF you don’t watch how you load the toppings.

Let’s get this straight: in regards to taste, price, and options, Orange Leaf rocks the house. In regards to environment, not so much.
Just like any other fro-​yo joint, you’ve got rows of self-​serve frozen yogurt in a plethora of both traditional and unexpected flavors. You also have the ability to mix the pairs together, which is especially nice if combos like Chocolate and Peanut Butter or Strawberry and Red Velvet are available. I’m a fan of the fruity, tart flavors, and the pomegranate yogurt was delish. I also got watermelon, which tasted a lot like Bubble Yum. Not my cup of tea, but probably really tasty for kids.
Anyway, after you serve yourself as much as you want of the yogurt, you top it with fruits, cereals, crushed candy bars, and other normal ice cream toppers, including caramel, chocolate, and strawberry sauces. I got a sort of granola bar combination, with strawberries, raspberries and blackberries, blueberries, granola, and chocolate chips. This is my usual at frozen yogurt places, and Orange Leaf didn’t blow me away in particular, but it certainly didn’t disappoint either.
To a certain extent, reviewing self-​serve frozen yogurt places are kind of futile, considering YOU are the one making the food.
So, here’s the bottom line for Orange Leaf:
#1 PRO: Cost
At 33 cents per ounce, 2 or 3 bucks will get you a good-​sized snack. Their prices are at least 10 cents lower than the fro-​yo places on the coasts, which is one of the only perks about living in the midwest.
#1 Con: Environment
You feel like you’re in a daycare. Everything is bright white, orange, and green, which would seem cute, except those are basically the only colors in the entire store. The furniture they provide (all of which are in these colors) consist of short, chunky, plastic midget chairs with matching midget tables. The lighting is bright and florescent. And the crowd it attracts are mainly junior high and high school kids with their middle-​aged parents. Lovely.
So, if you’re looking for a quaint after-​dinner date spot, go somewhere else. If you just want some cheap frozen yogurt with friends, Orange Leaf is the way to go.

Awwww, Springfield is gettin’ so metro! Proof lies in this new fro-​yo joint on Republic Rd… it’s just like all the fro-​yo shops I go to out in Cali. Expcept… better than some actually because I can tell it has a pretty decent quality of frozen yogurt (self-​serve) and tons of toppings to choose from (except my traditional peanuts). Some toppings I’d never even seen before… what WERE those lil yellow balls that pop in your mouth and taste lemonish?
By the way, they charge by the ounce so you only pay for what you put in your bowl. :)
That being said, they did an excellent job decorating with colors and tiles and furnitures. The place is super clean and has lot’s of space. Good thing… there was a huge line when we got there and people were still standing outside eating.
It’s definitely worth trying. It tastes just like Ice Cream but is waaaay healthier. We were gonna go to Andy’s Frozen Custard that night actually but I saw Orange Leaf on Unilocal and decided to cut my calories and fat by 90%. haha DELICIOUS!

Great place. Terrible name… Orange Leaf? How is anyone supposed to know what this is… Oh well. Other than the name, the color scheme is cool, the chairs are comfortable, they were slammed with a line around the store on a Friday night… great to see in this economy. Very cool concept. I think they needed some fun Caribbean type music and more attention to keeping the topping area clean and neat.
Great value.

If you don’t mind dealing with a whole bunch of junior high and high school students dicking around while you wait in a slow moving line, this place is for you. The concept behind this place is solid: remove as many employees as possible and replace them with customers. Don’t think you can «one up» on these guys by eating the frozen yogurt while in line because they won’t give you a spoon until you’ve paid.
I’m really only making this post in regards to the «I’m from California» guy below me. Dude. No one cares. People from California adamantly state over-​and-​over that they’re from California as if it holds some kind of automatic accreditation. If California is so great, why are you in Missouri? And if that’s the case, why are you posting a review to a place you obviously favor? Even more so, why are you bitching about canned fruit? Has it ever occurred to you that it is much more expensive and difficult to get fresh fruit in the mainland? I think your review is unfair to this place because you’re a douche. Orange Leaf AT LEAST deserves a 2 star-​rating because it tried.

Pretty much everyone in Springfield is shitting their goddamn pants about Orange Leaf these days. I was expecting fireworks to shoot out of my eyes on first taste. We went and enjoyed it, but I didn’t quite understand the hype. Yes, they have several different types of frozen yogurt, and lots of different toppings, but… it’s still… frozen yogurt. How this is different from any other yogurt/​ice cream/​custard place, I’m not sure.
Here’s how it works: you go in, pick a cup, fill it with yogurt, and put toppings on it. Then you weigh the results and they charge you based on that. It’s fairly economical. But again, it’s yogurt with toppings. Not quite a revolution, ya know?
Their spoons are cool, so that’s a plus.

Orange Leaf is a new self-​serve frozen yogurt joint in Springfield, MO. There are over 16 different flavors to choose from and a variety of toppings that you can add yourself. The toppings range from fresh fruit (pineapples, strawberries, kiwis…) to various candies and candy bars. The price is 33 cents an ounce. So how much you pay is all dependent on how much you get.
The deal is, you get a bowl and fill it with however much frozen yogurt you want. Next, add the toppings you would like and then put it on the scale to weigh it and get your price. After trying a few flavors, I decided to go with chocolate/​peanut butter. I think a lot of people might go with frozen yogurt because it’s healthier and a lot of their products are low fat… that being said after you add all the toppings you are just cancelling that out so go in and have fun with it.
The décor is very modern and clean looking. Staff was friendly. Kinda in a weird location. We only found it because Pineapple Whip was closed. I could see myself becoming a repeat customer.
