Malek’s Pizza Palace

I have been coming to Malik’s since before their grand opening. This is a fantastic family pizza place. Where else can you go at 3 AM on New Year’s eve and feel welcome? Only Malik’s in Springfield Virginia! The food, people and atmosphere are comfortable and welcoming. You will be glad you ordered for take out or delivery; but, it’s best to dine-​in.

Awesome food was there the other night. Great service food came on time enjoyed my meal nobody’s got a better STEAK & Cheese than Maleks wanted to do dessert but was to full to eat anymore. I will always come back here on any late night weekend .

Came here with a group of 12 people after volleyball and we were all starving and looking for a place to eat when someone suggested Maleks pizza. We sat in the private party area where there was a long table that fit majority of us. The menu has a variety of different subs, pizza, salads, and pasta. I got the parmigiana chicken which was served with spaghetti and Mariana sauce as well as garlic bread (delicious)! The food took a while to come out but then again, we had a lot of people. I was a little disappointed with the pasta, it was extremely bland and just tasted like spaghetti with canned marinara sauce. The garlic bread was amazingly good! Fresh and toasty right out of the oven! Ambiance is alright, nothing fancy and the place is a little small. Although I wasn’t impressed with their pasta, the overall experience was good and I would consider coming back and trying other things on the menu.

We hit Maleks after a movie tonight, glad to see they were open late, the waitress was very nice and attentive, as well as very pretty! I will definitely be back for the food and their calzones! Their combo pizza was ok. I think a bit longer in the oven would have been better!

The food is pretty good, but the décor and the ambiance really need a huge revival. I can do with the old school vibe, but the place just seems old and unloved. I often get takeout because I don’t really like sitting in the actual restaurant. The gyro platter is good, and I really enjoy the side salad that comes along with it.
Service is so-​so, maybe it depends on what time of day or when you go but it is never anything that superb.

A mom and pop pizza and pasta restaurant. Really great service, yummy food. I love their spaghetti pizza, and their gyros. The fries are always so crispy and warm. Right amount of seasoning for everything! I was skeptical at first, but their food is really to die for. They also have great lunch specials and the portions are generous! Easily one of my favorite places to eat now! Also open late night!

This was my first and far from my last visit. My husband raved about Maleks after a late work night meal. We expect to become regulars now! We had a large pizza with 2 toppings, I also had an order of fried mozzarella. They were just your normal every place frozen sticks. But the pizza? He and I usually have vastly different tastes but he was spot on about this. The pizza was excellent and the pricing was fantastic. :)

While their food is pretty decent. I firmly believe that this place was designed as quality drunk food. And given that they deliver their food far later than ANYONE in the area I believe that proves it.
My husband is particularly fond of the spaghetti pizza. I’m not as fond of it– it’s an experience but not a I must have. Their breakfast pizza is top notch as is their white pizza.
As a New York I have very very high standards for my pizza. This doesn’t come close to meeting those standard. But it is better then papa johns and it’s a family owned business. So I’m pretty happy to give them my money.

Ok, nothing outstanding. I had the gyro platter which comes with a salad. The salad was the cheap kind of iceberg lettuce that costs the restaurant nothing. The pita bread was served under the gyros and were soggy and almost inedible. I had to order extra pita, which I was charged for, to replace the soggy ones. The french fries were good but probably from the freezer. For a party of 5, a 15% gratuity was automatically charged. I thought gratuities are optional?

This review is a continuation of the post on Monday March 7, 2016 about Malek’s in Springfield, Va. Jonathan Malek responded to my concerns a few times with very sincere intentions. This after being made aware of my son and I, in addition to my co-​workers becoming violently ill after eating food from Malek’s. Jonathan assured us in his response that he had a meeting with the employees, and has taken some additional steps to research the toxic food situation coming out of the kitchen in recent time. All of this leaves me believing the intention is good, but… I remain skeptical. Once, maybe ok, but this happened to too many people, and too many times in my circle of friends and family. I wish All well, but I think we’ll drive past Malek’s from now on, and call another delivery Pizzeria, at least until the next one gets one of us ill. Best of luck. Although I’m rarely in Springfield anymore, Malek’s has always satisfied my drunken cravings during those late nights. For some reason I always ordered the philly cheese steak and chicken wings. They’re not winning any awards but does it matter if you’re hungry and intoxicated? I should give them more credit though b/​c they do have a loyal customer base. Oh I forgot to mention the gyros are actually pretty good!
Every now and then I’d come here nostalgically and the food is always consistent.

Good food! And good service! The menu is very simple and makes it quiet easy to order, haha. I had the steak and cheese with fries and it was great!

I absolutely love this place. I’ve been going here for years and years and they’ve never disappointed me! Great service, good food, and very clean. Food always comes out hot and fresh and the servers are always attentive! It’s super cute and cozy inside too. Good place to have a sandwich or go all in and get there pizza! Delicious! I give it five stars, because I literally don’t find anything wrong every time I come here!

A hole in the wall that remains a favorite of ours and our friends. This restaurant has been here for a very long time, and has always offered simple, familiar food that has always hit the spot in terms of comfort.
The last time we were here, we were wandering the newly rennovated Springfield Mall and didn’t like any of the options in the food court. Since Malek’s is just down the street, we figured we might as well have something satisfying and thus came here instead. I had the spaghetti in meat sauce; again, simple and familiar, but oh so good.

I love Malek’s! The service is always great! Their food is really good across the board, and their pizza is amazing. The crust on the pizza might be their most distinguishing quality. I really enjoy a custom pizza with Spinach, pepperoni, and ricotta. Super great place!

Came here several times over the past year or so, mostly very, very late at night (or should I say early morning?) and when I’m pretty freaking hungry. While I hesitate between a 3 or a 4 star, I went with a 4 because that was the gut feeling. Heh.
The food came in pretty big portions. I think I am most impressed with its gyro dish… it was huge, and it was delicious. I also had their pizza and pasta dishes, and they were all good, with A LOT, and I mean A LOT of cheese. Besides that, nothing particularly stood out to me. The garlic bread was a bomb, I really liked them — esp when they come free with my pasta!
Carb heaven, what I would consider soul food. Can’t think about healthiness and calories when you’re here. And like everyone else said, the staff have always been super friendly and helpful.
Overall, I think this place would be one of my top choices if I’m in the area and it’s really late at night.

Decided to try this place one more time. Guess what? It was SO much better and the cannoli was delicious!!!

We ordered delivery last night. We got a large build your own pizza and a small specialty pizza. I also got a kids meal and wings. The delivery was fast and the person that took my order was very nice. I love the huge menu eventhough we stuck to the classics. The pizza was a little doughy, I think because it steamed for a while in the car during the delivery. The taste was very good and we will order again.
PS — the mild wings are HOT and wonderful.

The hubs and I came here to grab some dinner. Malek’s Pizza Palace has been around since ’81 (they actually remodeled and renamed the place to Malek’s back in ’94) in the Springfield neighborhood, and offers an extensive menu of appetizers (such as calamari, jalapeño poppers, chicken tenders. etc.), soups, salads, entrees, subs & wraps, sandwiches, pitas, NY style pizza, desserts, and a children’s menu. I tried their Zucchini Sticks (beautifully-​battered fresh fresh fresh zucchini sticks, that came with a crack-​like ranch sauce — these came piping hot and were oh-​so-​delicious!!! Don’t be shy to ask for extra ranch!); the Buffalo Wings (comes in your choice of hot, mild, or BBQ; I opted for hot — these were requested to be done extra crispy, and, boy, were they fried perfectly! Yum! They were definitely crispy, saucy, but still juicy, and also great dipping into the addicting ranch sauce!); french fries (these were crispy and nice, but I think the oil that they fried it in could be changed, as it had a slight seafood-​y/​fish-​y taste to it); Garlic Bread with Cheese (I just wasn’t a fan of this, as the garlic taste was a little off, and the melted cheese was just unappetizing); the Steak & Cheese (comes in either a small or a large; I had grilled onions and extra mayo; this was okay, as the meat was ever-​so-​slightly underseasoned, and the meat was definitely on the ‘juicier’ end; these came with a side of wavy chips); the hubs had the Spaghetti Meatballs (the noodles were cooked al dente, and the sauce itself was pretty tasty! I wasn’t a fan of the housemade meatballs, though, as they were a little too touch and not that flavorful; this came with a side of house salad (that was quite fresh) and garlic bread (again, underwhelming with the off garlic taste)). Our server was Marco, and he was SO SWEET, very kind, and very attentive — our glasses were never empty, and he made sure that all our orders were perfect and correct: D I really like how on the menu, there are little ‘icons’ of Malek’s that denotes what the house favorites are. I also found it so cool that the restaurant focuses on a charity every month, in which on the last Monday of the month, the restaurant donates 25% of their total sales (!!!) — currently, April’s charity is for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). The restaurant seem to be a favorite of the locals, and there were also many call-​ins for carry-​outs. Located a few store units down from Starbacks (around to the left of CVS), there are plenty of parking spaces in the plaza lot. I would love to go back and try out their other menu items! :D

Hands down BEST steak and cheese sub I’ve ever had! Best part of the restaurant is that it’s open after club hours for a late munch stop… Nom nom nom… HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
