Love it! Perry gave me the exact color that I wanted. There was a bit of a scheduling debacle, so make sure your appointment is with an actual person. Better yet, make sure it is with Perry. My color was a blend of Pravana wild orchid and violet. I had a dark base so with bleaching and coloring, it took about three hours. I love the end result.

I absolutely LOVE the way Kendalle blow dry my hair!!! She does an awesome job!!! Highly recommend her! She is awesome! I love the salon and every is very nice! Thank you so much!!! :)

Tanisha is AWESOME! I’d been going to the same hairdresser for years, so I was a little nervous to try someone new. I wanted some really blunt, precise bangs and after showing her a quick picture, she nailed the haircut. Likewise with the color-​I showed her a quick picture for reference, and I’ve never been so pleased with the outcome.
On top of her technical savviness, Tanisha is sweet, chatty, and interesting. Thanks for a great experience lady! I’m a fan for life

I am super picky about my hair. I would rather go to the dentist than the salon. I have curls and wanted to find a great stylist for curls in this area. After reading the reviews on here I bypassed this place. Then three salons in six months I have it a shot. I love my cut! My curls literally bounce. The highlights were beautiful and Everyone couldn’t be nicer. I was so impressed I made an appointment for my daughter and they did a fabulous job with her crazy hair. I highly recommend Dawn!
I have been to see Dawn and still love it! Beautiful hair, and she is super friendly.

I really wanted to like Frizzles and its staff, but I unfortunately cannot give them any higher than 3 stars. The 3 stars are all for the hair cut and not for the staff at all. I got a Deva Cut with Dawn back in the fall and it was definitely a fantastic haircut, no argument there! I got tons of compliments. However, for starters she cut my hair about 2.5 inches shorter than I asked for and anticipated. Considering I have curly hair (obviously if I’m getting a Deva Cut) I expected her to realize my hair springs back up when cut short and used with products. But the next thing I know she had cut about 5 – 6 inches off my hair. It took me weeks to get used to but I definitely adjusted and now I love the length. If you are going to Dawn, you must indicate the length you’d like it cut. I clearly failed there…
Second, I don’t need my hair dresser to ask or know my life’s story but if I’m sitting there for an hour+ with you, some common courtesy questions would suffice. Dawn never once asked any questions, was short and borderline rude with me, and gave me snippy, sarcastic responses whenever I did say something. I made a comment once about how great the haircut would like straight and she replied «Uh. Yeah. But you know it will also look good curly too right?» Um, yes Dawn, I do… I’ve had curly hair for almost 30 years. Thanks though…
I decided to give them a second chance and scheduled another hair cut a few weeks ago. After I scheduled my appointment I called (a week in advance) to ask if I could tack on a straight blow dry onto the Deva Cut (I was going on a date night and wanted something different). The receptionist put the receiver down so I could hear everything she was saying and said «Uh this girl wants to do a straight blow dry with a deva cut. We don’t do that, right? We can’t do that.» Picks back up the phone then says to me «Sorry sweetie, Dawn doesn’t have time on Saturday. But maybe if you ask when you come in she can squeeze you in.»
I thanked them, hung up the phone, and cancelled my appointment two days later. I will not be returning to Frizzles to pay an extreme amount of money for a «curly girl haircut». Ladies with curly hair — listen up, all you need to do is find a trusted salon and explicitly explain what you want. For me, and for most curly hair, that’s lots of LONG LAYERS. Ask for that and you don’t need to pay $ 80 for a lackluster salon.

Chi is the best hair stylist! I have wavy/​curly hair and he cuts it perfectly. I show him a picture of what I want and he does it. The best part is that the style actually stays, I like to let my hair air dry and do minimal work styling wise and Chi’s cuts let me do just that. I can’t speak for any of the other stylist, but go to Chi! The salon its self is very nice, there isn’t much parking though.

I used to frequent Bubbles at Pentagon City and discovered Frizzles by accident and decided to give it a try.
I scheduled an appointment with Jack and I can say that I was fully satisfied with the results.
The fact that you can schedule your appointments via their website is another plus, along with complimentary coffee or cappuccino also helps.

The salon is nice and the people are as sweet as can be. I do have to say that I’m not as happy with my hair as I was hoping for. She cut my hair while it was wet and curly which is a big NO NO. When my hair is in a ponytail, you can clearly tell how uneven it is. Also I had my roots touched up because I wanted to go a bit lighter which I was told was impossible unless I bleach my hair. She did however say she could add highlights around my face to brighten it up a bit but I literally have 2 highlights on the left side of my head, that’s it. I think I spent entirely too much money to not be 100% satisfied. I’ll probably never go back.

This rating is for Jack and not for the salon. I went to him looking for a new men stylist. I told him that I don’t want to cut it short just a trim so I can see his work, style and how much he pays attention to details, guess what? he failed in all those fields — he cut my hair too short and the whole thing took him 3 – 4 minutes and even worse, he put some gel and comb it to the side I told him that I style my hair upward and then he gave me the comb and left me there and started with another customer. I was like are you kidding me??? he was rude, unprofessional and no common sense at all. the owner of the business is a nice man though and the front desk lady (Lebanese) is very helpful and
big mistake to go to Jack.

It’s my third time today to have them take care of my haircut and color. I must say that they never fail to meet my expectation and special requests. I had Patty twice to style my hair and she was just wonderful!!!
It’s a tad pricey here but maybe because I’m in northern VA and that it is what it is. But I’d rather pay the amount and have this kind of service than to take the risk of someone else butchering my hair.

Very friendly staff… great location and ambience. I have cuts with different people and all good. Never disappointing.

Love this place Jill is amazing the best in color truly one of kind the knowledge she has I have not seen in over 10 years. Nadim the owner is such a amazing person I feel like family when I go there the best customer service I have seen in a very long time. If you need your hair done correctly this is the place to go. One more thing for blow dry kindle is your girl. Over all everyone is great and very welcoming love this place

I have the most unmanageable curly hair, that looks fried with the slightest inattention, so I started looking for someone who specializes in curl management… I found Frizzles, then Dawn. I was a little concerned with the mixed reviews, but figured it couldn’t be worse than it already was, so I set an appointment. I’ve never heard of a Deva cut, let alone had one, but I could tell right away I was in great hands! She also had great color suggestions. Between the cut, the color, and the care instructions, I could not be happier! I found the prices quite reasonable, the salon was spotless, and even though I got a next day appointment, Dawn never made me feel rushed. I’m thrilled with the results, pending of course my ability to do my own hair! If you have curls and/​or frizz, definitely call Dawn!

This was my first time here and I had a great experience. I’m actually really surprised about the average reviews. My stepmom has been going to Matt for about a year and told me about this place so I decided to come check it out.
I made an appointment for a Friday morning and was checked in and taken care of right away. This was my first time here but I felt as if staff did a good job pointing me into the right direction and was asked if I wanted a drink and was comfortable by multiple people. I showed Nadim a picture of how I wanted my hair lightened and he did just that! He was working with a younger man and they were both friendly and chatty and I felt comfortable with them (which is great seeing as how nervous I was for blonde highlights having never gone lighter before). It took them about an hour and a half to give me full blonde highlights (from all medium brown and long hair) and I think it looks amazing.
I also told Nadim I didn’t want any inches taken from my hair besides split ends and what was needed to get the look I was going for and he did just that. The guy who did my blow out was perfect and really conversational so I appreciate that. Overall I think the price was very fair considering my long hair and the work done. Will definitely be back :)

Niaz and Erika are fantastic stylists! Masters at both cuts and colors. You won’t be disappointed. Parking is a bit tricky; blink and you might miss it. They have a small sign indicating the entrance.

I have been going to this salon since I moved into the Springfield area in 2011. Whether Jack, Jill, or Ally are doing my hair I am rest assured I will always walk out satisfied and happy! The front desk staff are always polite and smiling. No complaints thus far and I will continue to be loyal customer.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Too bad there are no zero stars. The first time, they booked me with the wrong person after I got a babysitter so I rescheduled and foolishly gave them a second chance.
Here is a summary:
1– Nobody ever introduced themselves. I asked 3 different people I was passed on to whether the person was Dawn and finally the fourth person said yes.
2– Dawn barely spoke with me or asked what I was looking for. The only communication was about the length she was cutting.
3– She cut my hair dry about 5 minutes and asked if I want it treated. Not wanting to go out with unwashed and crazy looking hair, I agreed.
4– After getting under the dryer, she put some spray in it and was done. I told her I also wear my hair straight so I want to make sure the cut is even (I communicated it to her WHILE she was cutting my hair too although it felt like a monologue since communication was one-​sided). Her response was «YOU ARE A PERFECTIONIST, AREN’T YOU?» A perfectionist for not wanting uneven hair? Then she said «IT SHOULDN’T LOOK TOO CRAZY STRAIGHT.» Not too crazy? That’s the standard???
5– She «finished» and sent me to the cashier with WET hair. I have never had to leave a hair dresser with WET hair!
6– I was told on the phone that her rate for long hair is $ 65, they attempted to charge me $ 85 for the «special Deva cut.“Are you kidding me? I should have charged them for sending me home in wet hair in 40 degree weather on New Year’s Eve.
NEVER AGAIN! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, ENERGY OR MONEY. NOT HAPPY!

Emma is an amazing colorist with years of experience. She gave me exactly the color I showed her in a magazine.

I am divided about reviewing this salon. The color came out great, but the deceptive pricing is one of the things which has put me off. I just moved to town and visited this salon based on the positive reviews. The staff is friendly, however my appointment was with Jack and instead he had his assistant do literally everything, so I was wondering why there was this façade that Jack was doing my hair, when Paula applied the color, timed it, checked it, washed it out, and then dried my hair. Apparently this redundant staffing is why they charged me $ 40 for washing and drying on top of the one step color (root touchup) charge of $ 80. Seriously, you are going to charge me $ 40 to wash out color that is a NECESSARY part of doing color? I have never heard of that type of charge when you get color, and also BTW I had a mani/​pedi while there too.
So kudos to Paula for doing a great job, not sure what Jack’s function is. The only fault I can ascribe to Paula was not cleaning all the color from my skin — I had a big blob on my cheek, and then today discovered a bunch of color in my ear. TG for Q-​tips…
More on Jack: my hair tends to run reddish or a little brassy if the formula is not right, so having moved around recently and having to find new places for color, I consider my formula to be one of my precious possessions, keeping it with my passport and credit cards when I travel. When I handed the formula to Jack he made a face and said «this has a squirt of ash, you don’t need it.» I said «that’s so I don’t get a brassy look.» He rolled his eyes and said, ok, he would put it in. (thank you…) Then as I was sitting in the chair, I had a chance to observe the color on all the blonde staff sitting around — guess what, they all had this yellow, flaxen tone that was not even a little bit flattering. Well, I guess I know who did their hair.
The mani/​pedi was good, but again I was put off by the technician’s penchant for making fun of other customers while I was there. And the fact that she decided to take a lunch break after putting my hands in some mitts (pre-​mani task) seemed ill-​timed. I just got to sit there staring at the wall waiting for her to come back. It was only 15 minutes, but if I would have been in a hurry I would have just left instead of being abandoned.
The good: staff very friendly. Place exceptionally clean. I could tell because there was such a lack of customers, and all the sparkling empty stations were painfully obvious.
Color came out great. Paula did a very nice job on the style too.
The off-​putting: do not charge a customer extra to wash her hair when she is getting color. It needs to be included in the color charge. Don’t make fun of other customers, this isn’t high school. Be transparent when booking appointments about a) who is actually going to do the work; and b) what the charges are going to be instead of surprising the client at the end. And as long as I’m being critical, put some more lights in the nail technician area, it is awful to see the tech squinting at your nails trying to see what she is doing to you.
