Met some friends here for lunch/brunch. I never knew this place even existed(despite driving past here all of the time). I’ve been to a few Bob Evans, although it was a long time ago, so I haven’t had much experience with these guys recently. I was actually pretty surprised upon entering the restaurant, at how big it was, and how there was an open kitchen. I imagined this would have been like a IHOPish place. Despite my lack of knowledge of the place, it was actually packed. We had to wait about 20 – 25 minutes with a group of 5. I should have gone with breakfast, but since it was the afternoon I figured I would go with the burger. Not many ways to go wrong with that right? Despite with the large size and the packed nature of the restaurant, there seemed to be less than 3 servers for the whole place. The service was painfully slow. A few times we had to ask for refills on our drinks. Because of the open kitchen, we could see the plates of food piling up behind the slow service, and as a result when our food came it was cold. Farm to table, I believe is used very liberally at Bob Evans. My burger tasted(and looked) like a box hamburger. The bun was typical crust bun, and there wasn’t anything about my fries that contradicted my belief that this was«fresh frozen» or whatever silly phrases we’re using now. Not to say I was upset(I wasn’t) it just tasted like typical diner /chain food, and I think the idea of farm to table doesn’t quite live in the typical spirit at Bob Evans than other places.

Been there twice and asked which steak and eggs is best. Both times different selection, both times everything had no flavor and the meat was too thick to cook properly. They aren’t known for steaks so don’t know why they cut their meats so thick, takes skill to cook thick steak. My wife ordered pecan waffles which was great, which is why I rate a 3. Hash browns were overly cooked and were almost mashed… I guess pancakes, waffles, and French toast is the way to go, they always look good when I see people order.

My hubby brought me here. He lured me with statements like: «farm to table» «It’s nicer than Silver Diner & IHop» «It’s a mature breakfast crowd» «You won’t have to deal with rowdy teens or a wait» If you’re looking for a breakfast option Bob Evans is pretty solid. It is farm to table. The ambiance is nicer than a diner or IHop. There wasn’t a wait, the crowd was mature, and menu offered a bunch of options from breakfast to lunch foods.

Bob Evans is one of my breakfast favorites. This location needs attention. Better food presentation. More wait staff. Springfield location has shady people lingering, off l-95. Rebel Review: 3 stars.

Two stars for menu. Slow service and food wait time. Food way too salty and overcooked.

Great food and very good prices. Service was quick and servers were attentive. Only down side is that it is not very easy to get to.

Four stars for their remarkably consistent flavor and quality. Chain wide you get near identical food and that’s great in my opinion. The clunker to this story is essentially the staff at this Springfield location. They are all pretty terrible and most of them are inefficient and marginal including management. I realize you have to hire whatever comes in the door. Tough life. We have started asking who our server will be before we are seated because a couple of them are that bad. The Asian guy working the register and seating is also pretty grumpy. Bob Evans is a great Place to eat. Just ignore the staff.

Tried this place for the first time recently. I asked for a table for 5 and had to wait 5 minutes, even though the place was half empty and there was nobody else waiting for a table. Ordered coffee and was told there is none so had to wait 10 minutes for them to brew it. Coffee was good. Had apple cinnamon pancakes which were OK. Waiter put salad dressing in front of my 1-year-old who promptly overturned it onto the table. Service was good until we got our meals, and then he disappeared. None of us got refills on our drinks until after we were finished eating. I would return and try them again although they would not be my first choice.

Neither my wife nor I understand why anyone would ever want to eat any meal anywhere but this place! The food is delicious and wholesome in a way nothing can top, the interior is very clean and well-appointed, and I don’t know how they can make stuff at such good prices. For wholesome Midwestern food, this is as good as it gets!

Fair warning, expect 30 – 45 minute wait on a major holiday. Other than that, the food was good, typical diner food. The customer service is good. We came in on Father’s Day and it was busy. Our table was right under a AC vent… burrr.

Vomit… this place is straight nasty. Stay away if you value your health. Last time I went, the server was an older lady who seemed to not know how to wait tables as she was not at all attentive. She served my son an ice-cream sundae and he found several strands of blond hair in it. Neither one of us have blond hair, but our waitress did. Since she did not come back to the table to check on us, my son took the sundae to the counter person to show them the hair he’d found. Had to run out of there…

Very tasty comfort food. Like a good olé dinner with lots of options. Love the pot roast and my daughter is enjoying the chicken noodle dinner. Got a coupon for a free meal for voting today! Probably the best thing to come out of the election!

Service here was attentive and the food was good. I do not recommend getting the crepes. The crêpe was like plastic and the fruit was like bad jelly. Come here for the biscuits, but make sure you get the center biscuits. Manager was very responsive with issues and my other food tasted fresh.

Generally what you’d expect from a Bob Evans. Cheap, decent portions, breakfast all day. Service was good but never checked in after delivering food, no refills and no opportunities to request butter or sweetener. The food was very salty, almost overly so, and I like salty food. Soda was flat.

Service: 4-star; pretty dang good, the guy was nice, but forgetting things occasionally– but not big deal. Did a good job. Order wasn’t 100% right, but close. Food: 4-star overall. Chicken had good flavor, but a bit dry. However, it was served with a really good sauce. Soup was solid and dessert was pretty good. The sweet potatoes were not impressive, which somewhat offset the really good blueberry bread. Strawberry lemonade is good, but a little overpowering for my taste(I don’t normally drink sweet beverages). Deal: 5-star– those 3-course meals are good deals. Esp. when you get the BOGO entrée with two drink email.

Haven’t been here in years. Farmers omelette is on point. David our server was great! Ask for that dude if you can. I only come for breakfast so I can’t tell you what lunch and diner would be like. I see a few bad reviews so I guess they may have high turnover but our experience with David was pleasant and breakfast was great. Wait time was maybe 5 to 10 minutes for our party of 5.

Wait till the regular staff returns… My wife and I were seated after a decent wait. The restaurant was short staffed, so that is understandable. However, when the food for all the guests around us arrived, and ours was no where to be seen… That was a problem. My wife’s side salad arrived 15 minutes after the guests around us had already gotten their entire meals, it didn’t have the correct dressing. When both entrees arrived my plate was filthy, I am sure the plate was cleaned previously. Just not today… I totally understand trying to run a restaurant short handed, but please pay attention to cleanliness and accuracy. Our previous visits to this Bob Evans have always been great, but there were different managers and waitstaff on those visits. From now on we will only return for breakfasts, and only during the early part of the

Food wasn’t so great. Service was horrible. Took forever to get anyone to even notice us after we were seated. Needless to say we won’t be going back.

Went on a Saturday morning around 10 am. Very busy place, was hard to find parking. Seated within 15 minutes. Waitress was courteous and efficient, yet not very friendly… maybe she was having a bad morning. The food was great as usual. I tried their caramel cappuccino coffee thing with the whipped cream and caramel and chocolate — Delicious!!!

It’s been years since I’ve paid a visit to Bob Evans, so I was definitely excited to come back here during the Fourth of July Weekend. Growing up in Virginia, my family and I often came here for breakfast and dinner. The décor is very homey and it’s cozy inside. Our server was attentive and our water cups were always full. The majority of the dishes on their menu are tasty, prepared well, and affordable. Their breakfast and Bob Evans Classic items(ie. Country-Fried Steak, Meat Loaf & Gravy, and Open-Faced Roast Beef) are on point. For the most part, Bob Evans is just like how I remember. However, one thing that has changed, which saddens me is that they no longer offer their bread basket as complimentary. They used to give us fresh biscuits, buns, and banana nut bread for free. You now have to pay for it. Our server was so SWEET(saw how heartbroken we were) and gave us some biscuits without charging us. If you’re reading this, Thank You once again. Looking for a hearty meal filled with delicious carbs? Bob Evans has that covered!
