Zion Canyon Guides is the first female-​owned guide service in the area!

Katharyn originally hails from Oregon where she first got a taste for rocks and a thirst for canyon adventures. She’s worked as a naturalist, an environmental educator for those aged 0 – 101, a river runner, and holds far too many degrees in Geology and Earth Science. She’s part nerd, part outdoor explorer and 100% into being immersed in the glorious beauty of the Colorado Plateau.

What an exhilarating weekend we had with Kate and Rob! I wasn’t really sure what to expect going into my first canyoneering trip, having very little experience and fearing the unknown. After our adventure was over, I came out of it knowing so much more than I ever imagined I could learn in one weekend! Even in the moments when I was hesitant to try something, Kate and Rob calmly talked me through things to make me feel confident and in control. The experience was one I will never forget and I am so thankful for these two for the amazing work they do!
