R Pools

During the last 12 months they sent at least 15 different pool men to our home. We have a salt pool. We had to tell half of them it was salt. Our pool was always very cloudy. We continued to ask why it was so cloudy and dirty. We have one of the highest rated pool vacuums. We were given many different answers, but never a clear pool or a solution. After they left the pool drain on, flooding our front yard, we gave them another chance. While we were gone for 2 weeks, our pool water looked like milk. They kept saying they had no idea why it was so bad. After they cleaned the salt cell and completely killed grass by equipment, we fired them. The new company showed us our filter was split/​broken and the salt cell was burned up. Neither working! And R pools could not see that? The filter originally installed by Blue Haven was never big enough for our pool. The owner of R Pools even came out with no resolution. The girl who answers their phone is rude. It was rare for them to return my call. Take my advice, don’t give them a chance. They lost a loyal customer. I am so glad RPools will not be back. New company installed larger filter, etc. and the pool looks better than ever! R Pools lost our account and close to $ 3,000.00 for new equipment they could have installed… if they were not so dim witted.

Very friendly, reliable and reasonably priced! We’re new clients and I’ve already been impressed with their services. The gentlemen who take care of our pool are knowledgeable and friendly. I’d recommend this company to my friends.

R Pools has been servicing my pool for over a year and has done an outstanding job. They even made a special trip out to replace a pump at the very last minute. Thanks!

I called in response to the flyer. I only needed dirty filters switched out with clean ones that I have. The service man followed my «call ahead» instructions and arrived at the time expected. He did a quick and efficient job and was very professional. I will be using R Pools in the future when I need pool care.

R Pools has serviced our pool for about several years. I measure the performance of a service company by how they respond to issues that arise. There have not been many issues over the years, but when they’ve occurred, R Pools has always responded immediately, honestly and thoroughly. They are fairly priced and have done an excellent job on our pool. I recommend them.

R Pools was servicing our pool when we bought our house in July, and we decided to keep them on. We have not had any complaints. They always do a magnificent job, and leave the flyer with what they did, and when the pool can be used again. Our pool motor broke the day before our housewarming party, which we had already been using R Pools for almost 2 months by this time. They had told us previously, that they could service our pool on Fridays, but it usually cost more and that was their busiest day. Ours is serviced on Wednesdays. Anyways, I got home from work on this Friday and realized the pool was not running, when it should have been. We know nothing about pools, so I called R Pools, and within 2 hours someone was at our house and figured out the problem. He replaced something in the motor, along with something else, and telling me the cost before he proceeded. I was really worried they were not going to be able to come out. I can’t remember the name of the lady that answers the phone, but she is always polite. They have pool school, which we did about a month after moving in, where a person comes out and instructs you on the workings of the pool. Since we work, they worked around our schedule, which was nice.

I wish I had read the reviews before I used this company. They are very unethical and Brandon, the owner, is absolutely a crook. I have a similar story as Charles except mine ends with no one at the company returning my calls. We went through months of dealing with them, they constantly said they would come on a certain day and never showed up. I spoke to Brandon several times and he constantly blew smoke, saying what he thought I wanted to hear. We paid for a leak detection test and they found one leak, two weeks later we had another one. One month later we have two major ones and no one returns my calls! Brandon knew they screwed up at one point so he did a SECOND «drain and clean» on his dime and with our ever discussing it with me. I got stuck with a $ 300 water bill when they refilled the pool. He had to do this to cover up the fact that they lied about coming out to maintain the pool weekly and charging me. Several techs even commented about the way he runs his business. Total scam artists!
After leaving this review, Brandon emailed me stating they were still waiting for me to call them and perhaps I didn’t have their phone number correct. I replied that my husband and I have left 7 messages with his office and I left 3 with his service technician and no one responded. Well, he still hasn’t responded to that. It seems he keeps proving my point after every contact.

DO NOT BE FOOLED! I am not sure if Babette is friends with the company or not but her review is a joke! In April I received a flyer advertising service. I’ve never had a pool company and decided to give them a try. My pool was NOT in good shape when I called them, they quoted me the $ 33 weekly plus $ 79 one time cleaning fee to have it «swim able». I took the day off so my wife wouldn’t be home alone with our baby when they showed up. The kid brushed the walls put in shock, and told me he «couldn’t reach the bottom» he didn’t vacuum or anything. I called and talked to Brandon, he said he would get somebody back out. Two days later two guys came back out to vacuum, when I came home that day there was still algae on the bottom. You could see big rows were they had missed with the vacuum. I called Brandon again MAD, he sent someone back out an the tech actually said «this is a rookie job». It took a week and three different visits to do what I was told would take or visit. When I got my first bill it was for almost $ 300!!! I called furious and Brandon actually said «well we wouldn’t have made any money if we had went with the original quote.» Excuse me?! I sent him a check for what it should’ve actually been. After that they wouldn’t show up on the day they should’ve then the next day we would find a note saying they couldn’t clean because the gate was locked (my wife is a stay at home mom) they never knocked. The final straw was when a tech came out and replaced the skimmer doors, the basket in the pump and the O-​ring without my say so and tried to charge me $ 60. I know the basket and O-​ring were good because I replaced them myself less than a yr ago.

I wouldn’t even give them one star if Unilocal didn’t give you a choice.
I received a flyer from this company in April advertising a special. I was going to be gone a lot this summer, and I had never used a service before, but I needed to make sure my pool was maintained. I called R Pools and requested weekly service beginning end of May. A person was scheduled to come out on Friday morning, May 31^st. and I stayed at home to show him around and also to introduce my dogs who might ir might jot be there when he came next. When I had received no phone call, and nobody had showed up by 6:00pm, I called the company and told them «never mind» since I had taken the day off and they hadn’t even bothered to call it show up. Next morning someone did show up without any warning. He apologized and said they were seriously understaffed and that the flyers had caused them so much new business they didn’t have enough people to handle it all. I told him to go ahead and clean the pool and that I would give the company another chance. They were scheduled to come every Friday, brush the pool sides, replenish water and chemicals as needed. Test the chemicals, and vacuum if needed. The pool is set on a timer, so the skimmer and pump run automatically. The following Friday, I came home to a note on the fence stating that the pool cleaner had cleaned my pool, but then there was a note at bottom that said he had not actually done so because my dogs were in the backyard. I had discussed the dogs with the cleaner the week before and he was fine with them. I called and told them I didn’t want there to be any confusion with the billing because the guy had not cleaned my pool. We were out of town, and the dogs were gone too, from June 14^th until the end of June. I had refilled the Chlorine tower just before leaving. So 3 visits by R Pools should have been made during that time. We came home on the 29^th. R Pools was supposedly servicing our pool while we were gone and should have been there just the day before. The pool was a mess. There was algae on the walls, the water level was down by 8″ and the pump was running on no water because of it. The Chlorine Tower which holds 8 disks was empty. I immediately called R Pools and cancelled our service. I had yet to receive a bill. The woman who answered the phone asked for my name. After I gave it to her, she read what was supposedly my address. (ie «oh, at 12 345 Brook Creek Drive?») No, it’s 12 345 Creek Brook Drive. She then said, «Oh yeah, right». Then she asked if there was a reason I was canceling my service. So I told her all of the above. She said «oh gee, sorry about all that.» And that was it. So, when I finally did receive the bill, I wrote the whole incident down on the statement and sent them a check for the only time I know for sure they actually were there. My advice, find another pool company. This one may have been ok when they were small, but obviously now have too many customers, not enough employees and the quality of employees has seriously gone down.

I have used this pool service for over 8 years. They have a high expectation of customer satisfaction and respond quickly. Brandon and Mike work well with the customer to ensure you are happy.
