I’m giving this place a 5 star because of their friendliness. The donut shops in this area are seriously lacking in customer service! My kids weren’t rushed when ordering and the servers had smiles on their faces. I however won’t be returning because I didn’t care for the donuts :(Someone else may disagree and I hope they do because these people deserve patronage.

I have now lived a short 10 minute drive from this donut shop for about 3 years now and finally decided I’d stray from my normal and give them a try. I wasn’t disappointed but I certainly wasn’t wowed either. I felt like the actual establishment was set up in an odd manner, and the donut display/selection seemed to be lacking in size and variety. When you walk in there seems to be a donut production area sectioned off to your right, an empty display case and counter at the end, and a counter horizontal to this where you order and see the small semi lack luster donut display behind(maybe I’m spoiled by some of the large donut displays I’ve experienced at some Shipley locations, just saying). $ 20.37 got me: Dozen small sausage & cheese kolaches Dozen donut holes 1 cinnamon twist donut 1 Red Bull

I love this place. We always get friendly service, the donuts are amazing, but the real reason we go are for the breakfast sandwiches. They are delicious and reasonably priced. I picked up some sandwiches for work. They have a turkey breakfast sandwich which I chose for a Muslim co-worker who doesn’t eat pork, and she said it was delicious. I haven’t tried the coffee but it usually looks like it has been sitting there for a while, so I avoid it. The location is kind of awkward. It’s In the same plaza as McDonalds and Tewbalew’s, but it’s worth it dodging folks rounding the corner on two wheels as they leave the sports bar.

New owners = not the same. I know I know, I’m a genius. Just saying… it’s not as good.

Great little donut place in the Northeast Spring area. Atmosphere: 4⁄5 — Nice size for a donut shop. Clean looking with a couple spots to eat there if you wish. Cute décor. Much better than average donut shop for sure. Service: 4⁄5 — Friendly staff. Never felt rushed or under pressure when ordering. Slightly annoyed that items were mislabeled. Makes ordering hard when I ask for something thinking its one thing and they reach for something else. Food: 4⁄5 — Really good quality. Best in area hands down. The apple fritters are the bomb. Sugar coma here I come!

These guys are the best! They have an awesome deal Tues-Thurs where you can buy a donut and get one free! The best donut is the chocolate glaze donut. It’s a normal glazed donut… THEN there is the delicious perfect amount of chocolate glaze on top! It’s genius! I don’t know of anyone else that does that. A drive thru donut place recently opened up near me, but since American Donut is better in price, customer service, AND most of all has the BEST donuts… I will continue to take my business there!

Love this place! I’ve never had a chocolate iced donut that was already glazed til here. It’s just not the same without it anymore. The prices are great and are even cheaper during the week. Definitely worth making this your donut place.

Whole family loves making donut runs to American Donut. I grew up in a small town that had a wonderful bakery that had great donuts. This place reminds me of that. Great father and sons small business that make some outstanding donuts. Just enough variety to keep everyone in the family happy! We will be there this morning to indulge!

As others have noted, they have some more unique food offerings, and that’s great. But I was in a pretty basic mood and got a dozen donuts — mostly plain old cake and glazed donuts. They were delicious. The counter help were all quite friendly. I recommend the place. Must remember to go back here and order a few of the less standard items. It does look like they’ve always got a good number of customers in the morning.

I like this place. The donuts are a little different but good. The prices are not bad but you need to get there early or forget about your favorites. This place is small and would do better if it was a little bigger. I would say give it a chance if you want something a little different.

Pros: — Donut Machine to distract my kids — Beatles music — Perfectly acceptable kiolaches — Mini-Cake donuts for the kids(with sprinkles if that is your thing) Cons: — Not exactly the friedliest folks working the register; they tend to be impatient with the kids — No Diet/Sugar free energy drink which is what I usually get instead of donuts to avoid weghing 900 lbs and to be awake enough to chase down my three darling children after they are stuffed with a metric ton of donut sugar. — No fat free milk to go with bad coffee(see above mentioned diet/cafeine requirements) — Consistently out of one or two of the 5 things my kids want(ie no mini donuts with sprinkles today or no blueberry cake donuts today or worse just one so that whoever orders first gets what they want and the other kids fight and cry because they can not have the same. –No high chair. I have a 1 year old. She makes a huge mess because I have to hold her at the counter since there are no kid friendly seating options. Recomendation: Meh, There are a half dozen better donut places within a ten minute drive.

I thought a read a good review of the kolaches here in Unilocal, but it must have been on another website. The review is what made me want to check this place out. We tried the ham and cheese and the jalapeño and sausage kolaches. Both were equally good. The bread was fresh and the jalapenos even fresher. The location is super convenient to our house and if the kolaches continue to be so tasty, we might just make a Sunday morning ritual of it. The gentleman at the counter was super friendly. I’m kinda eager to go back and try the ice cream.

Inconsistent. The first time I tried this place it was very good. The second, third, and fourth time got worse each time around. The lady at the register was very impatient and rude and the kolaches were dried and just bad. I was surprised with the way the woman at the register treated me. I was ordering quite a bit of donuts and kolaches, I asked her to wait on ringing me up which she did not. When I added a few drinks she got mad and said she already rung everything up. I wont be coming back to this place and it is a real shame, because it could have been a great thing.
