Working Class Auto Repair

I had a few problems with my truck, so I brought it in for repair. They charged me 87 bucks for «diagnosing» the problems. The engine light was on after «the diagnose» and they refused to fix it due to the fact that it had so many problems. What the hell would I want to repair it if it didn’t have any issues? And yet, the engine light was on after their magical work, bringing one more issue that I not only have to deal with but also was charged for. Thanks a lot for their «wonderful» business!!! If you have 87 dollar extra that u would like to waste, you’re welcome to bring your vehicle to their business.

Armando at Working Class Auto has been my mechanic for the past 3 years. By far the most reasonable and honest mechanic I have ever had. Does great work at a great price, and he and his wife are always polite. Can’t recommend him highly enough.

I Agree with some other fellow Unilocalers, this is a small establishment and can get busy because of the great quality of work and fair pricing. So its best to call ahead of time and see how busy they are, or pop in to speak to the receptionist or mechanic himself. They don’t rush through repairs, as other establishments tend to do.

One of the few places I’ve taken my car to in San Diego, and have been satisfied with each visit. The first time I took my car in was because of an air conditioning issue, which of course fixed itself the day before I was scheduled to take it in. I figured I’d still get them to check it out in case of future problems. Turns out Armando couldn’t find anything wrong with it, and no charge! No diagnosis fee and he didn’t find an issue just to find one. I’ve also been back to get an oil leak repaired and felt the prices to be very reasonable. There are also some coupons on their website that you may be able to take advantage of.
They do get busy (another sign of quality service), so it’s good to call ahead of time and check for openings and schedule an appointment.

I was very happy with the service I received! The owner replaced my front brakes, rotors, and spark plugs. He made sure I was aware of all repairs needed. I was ready to repair all my brakes and a couple other parts, but after the owner inspected the vehicle, he let me know what I needed and what I didn’t. He saved me half of what I was expecting to spend and what I was quoted at other shops. I felt comfortable with the repairs, service, and inspection. I will definitely come back and recommend this shop to friends!

Armando is a genuine honest man. He had every opportunity to take advantage of me and did not. I went in for a complete brake job and came to find out I only needed the back brakes. Rather than taking advantage of the situation he called me and notified me I had 80 percent in the front and did not need them changed. What a relief that was to my wallet. Once the job was complete he showed me all the old parts which to is rare! Working class gained my trust and is now my auto mechanic. I would recommend them to everyone !

In this area there are many choices for auto mechanics so I based my choice on friendliness, good customer service, cost, and promptness to accomidate my vehicle. As expected, many of the repair shops were rude and short with me. As if they didn’t need my business. Ok by me! You just made my choice much easier! Bye!
So I come across Working Class Auto and a pleasant woman answers the phone. She asked a few questions about what was needed, the type of vehicle, etc. I needed to get my brakes done for my truck. She told me the availability for the mechanic to see me and gave me an appointment time. I really appreciated that because in the past, mechanics would tell me «to just come in» and when I do, I would sit there half a day before they even get to my car. When I showed up at my appointment time, they took care of me very quickly. The main mechanic was a very nice guy, he was patient and gave good explanations of the parts, what has to be done, the time frame, and any other information that I should know about. Not once did I feel pressured into anything and that was also a plus. I will use their services in the future and I recommend them.
On a side note, next door is another auto shop called Travis Auto or something like that. The guy that works there is very rude. If you go to Working Class Auto, don’t park in the parking spots closest to the entrance of the parking lot, that is not Working Class Auto parking and the guy working at Travis Auto will give you the biggest meat head attitude. He is one of those mechanics that don’t want your business and wants to setup a first impression of a douche bag. No thanks, but thank you for making it easier on me to not recommend your place.
Anyway, Working Class Auto, good place, nice people, prices are fair and the results meet expectations.
