Happy they started and opened this business in Paradise Hills neighborhood. There isn’t much in terms of different food places to visit because Paradise Hills is a suburb so having Snoice is better for the area. Small place so I hope they will prosper and grow. They hold enough selection to offer a variety of flavors and toppings. I’ve only had snow ice from one other location in Clairemont neighborhood area, which I think their snow ice is good. So Snoice is comparable in terms of quality, just on a smaller scale. If I recall, Snoice is a little bit more pricey and is not charged by weight. Only rated 4 stars for now because only came to visit once so far.

I’ve been hooked on shaved snow and this didn’t disappoint! I ordered the original snow with filipino toppings: ube, flan, and those little crunchy rice yummy goodness! My kids ordered strawberry and mango shaved snow and loved it as well. The only downside is its more expensive than Icekimo but you save on gas if you’re from south sd.

Let’s start this review with a moment of silence in honor of the late Ray’s Game Center. For those of you that lived in Spring Valley or PH back in the 80’s, you know the importance that RCG was for a lot of us. Good bye for now, but not forever.
Now, back to the review. Snoice is new and specializes in snow ice & Halo Halo. Their regular Halo Halo includes plantains, kamote, gulaman, pinipig, ube, and leche flan. You get all this for $ 4. You can also create build your own Halo Halo for $ 5, which is an option that I have never seen at any Pinoy restaurant. I went with the custom Halo and added only my favorites… pinipig, flan, Ube ice cream, Ube, Nata de Coco, and red bean. How was it? It was masarap!!! Masarap with a capital M!!! I’m Filipino and have mastered the art of eating Halo Halo. But one thing I have not mastered was the art of mixing it. My Mix Mix became a Mess Mess with the quickness. Bottom line, get down here quick and build your own Halo Halo. Let us know what you think. Peace!!!

Snow + ice = SNOICE
Talk about some great desserts in Spring Valley.
Come here for the halo-​halo that you can customize with up to six ingredients, including ube, leche flan, jackfruit, sweet plantains, red beans, and pinipig.
Come here if you want some tasty snow ice (aka shaved snow) with flavors like Ube, Thai Tea, Lychee, Avocado, Mango, and Buko Pandan. Topping choices include fresh fruit (mango, kiwi, strawberry, banana, blueberry, pineapple); popping pearls (lychee, mango, pomegranate, peach, green apple, lychee, strawberry); and others (mochi, gummy bears, boba, crushed Oreos, red bean, chocolate chips).
The lovely Marivic waited on us on a quiet afternoon since it was Super Bowl Sunday #50. Located in the same space as Kababayan Bakery, SNOICE has ample seating and an easy ordering system. Just choose your halo-​halo or snow ice flavors and ingredients as described above and wait for your order. If you’re going to eat your snow ice there, it will be served on a plate versus a to-​go bowl; make sure you specify this if you want the plate version.
I had the medium ube snow with strawberries, mango, and mochi, with condensed milk drizzled on the snow. When it was served up on a plate, it was much larger than I expected it to be because I only saw the medium sized bowl when I ordered. I wasn’t complaining, though, because it was delicious and I devoured it in no time. I got to try my boyfriend’s halo-​halo order, which he got with ube, flan, pinipig, and red beans: also on point!
I highly recommend this spot for a visit if you want some legit Filipino dessert. A bonus is having Kababayan Bakery in the same space if you want to buy ensaymada, puto, bibingka, ube, leche flan, and other Filipino food on the way out. Naks naman!

Glad that Snoice was at a Unilocal Event where I was able to taste their desserts. Being that it was so good, I stopped by their shop in Spring Valley a couple of times and tasted the Halo Halo and more ice desserts. I love that you can choose your own toppings; especially the halo halo. Some Filipino restaurants has it all pre made with toppings but Snoice is now my favorite shop for halo halo.
The owners and workers are always so nice and both Tupac and I love this place that we recommend it to everyone. Clean and chill.

I love snow and I love shaved ice. What I don’t like is having to drive to Convoy to get either or. The God has answered and put this place right in the neighborhood ! SNOOOOOOOOOIIIIIICEEEE ! I’ll be coming back.

I took my daughter here a couple of weeks ago as a treat after school one night. It is located inside the Kababayan bakery. As I approached the entrance I saw a couple of guys sitting in a table inside macking on some carne asada fries. Am I in the right place?, I thought to myself. One of the guys jumps off the chair, I was surprised. It was the young dude who was running the show and he ran behind the counter to tend to his customer me. Nice hustle youngster! Not being familiar with this type of dessert, I didn’t know what was what. Daughter chose the «original» flavor with gummy bears and mango. Dude told me original was vanilla. It came out and looked like it had the consistency of cotton candy, so silky and smooth. Muy bueno, which I guess is Tagalog for very good, lol. This place is not so much as it’s own shop, rather just a counter in the little corner of the bakery, but with this young man’s hustle and attention to customer service, it is only a matter of time before he has his own shop, nay, shops.

Coming from a prior bad experience with shaved snow (there was a place near sdsu that was similar, but not great), this place turned my experience around completely!
I have come here a couple of times before and have forgotten to make my review, so now I’m making it!
My most recent visit (today-​1/​12/​16) was a great one! I went to this place around 1:40pm, and there weren’t a lot of people around! I put in my order– a mango shaved snow (picture below), and waited about 5 minutes. That might have seemed like a long time, but the one making the order took great care in making sure that the order looked VERY pleasing to the eye, which it did!)
Now since I had a bad experience prior to this, I was expecting the same here, which was dumb of me after seeing how nice everything looked and tasted. However, every time I have gone, the workers have taken great care of me while over there, making small talk while ordering, and helping me make decisions about what to get! Most of the time at places like these, from my experience, the workers just wait for you to order– not this place!
The place is clean and well-​kept, and I am definitely planning to come back here soon! Thank you, SNOICE! Looks like i don’t have to go as far anymore for any boba drinks or shaved snow!
TL;DR? If you don’t want to go to convoy for shaved snow, this place is a nice alternative. The workers are friendly, and help you out when you don’t know what to order! Clean and well-​kept!

The people who run this place are super friendly and their staff is very nice and helpful. Their ube and mais queso ice cream are good, but the halo halo was too heavy on the ice. I would definitely come back; however. Also, everything was really clean.

So this placed used to be a video shop, a water store, and extension of kababayan bakery, and now currently a new boba/​froyo shop.
It’s still sort of attached to Kababayan Bakery still the only thing separating it was a rack of chips?
Otherwise their counter is more updated and has a nice boba shop aesthetic.
They have a pretty big menu that stretches more than just boba and shave ice stuff.
I ordered a halo halo ($ 4.50) that I got with avocado ice cream. The toppings were fantastic! The ice cream was super smooth, the flan was creamy, the crispy rice flakes were absolutely perfect! Buuut, after that I was a little disappointed the bottom didn’t have as much as I expected. They had the regular green jelly, A couple white beans, but no monggo beans?
I don’t know of my cup had a couple stuff skimped out but usually the bottom is where it’s at. Also there was a hair in my halo halo, I’m usually unphased by this because it happens from time to time anywhere.
Unfortunately I think I’ll still make the drive down to conchings for halo halos that give more for $ 3.75 :/​
Might come back to try a drink or something else next time though.

I’ve had a couple things here, their halo halo, taro snow ice, and Thai tea with no boba. Everything is so good and fresh. You can make your own halo halo and add any topping you want. The concept is pretty cool. This place is a must try for everyone.

Can we talk about how great it is to have this wonderful addition to the neighborhood? It’s like a little piece of Clairemont in Spring Valley!
When I visited Snoice, I was so excited to see all of the different flavors of snow ice options they offer. The guy who helped me out was very friendly and patient with me as I tried to figure out what I should get. Ultimately, I went with the Thai Tea ice with a side of boba and mochi. The snow ice was had the perfect amount of sweetness and the boba was a great compliment to the dessert. I’ll definitely have to come back to try boba tea and halo halo.
Long story short, stop waiting around and head on over to Snoice!

The first place that I’ve been to that has… BUILD YOUR OWN HALO HALO whaaaaat! Growing up & eating halo-​halo, I’ve always hated the beans & left them for dead at the bottom. My favorite parts were just the ice cream, leche flan & jellies, so I’m super pleased a place exists where I can customize it just to my liking! If that’s not exciting enough, THERE’S MORE. They have pandesal ice cream!!! Yesssss gurl, go try it! ;)
What I also love is that since I live in the southbay (and can practically see TJ from my backyard), I no longer have to make the loooong drive up to Convoy area to get my frozen dessert fix such as shaved snow & boba!
The owners are also extremely personable & ask each customer how their experience was. They’re a brand new shop & currently renovating, so it’ll be exciting to see how everything comes along. If you’re in the South Bay, lazy to drive far, need to get your Filipino fix, it’s def worth stopping by!

My boyfriend and I stopped by this place yesterday to grab some delicious shaved snow! We are familiar with iceskimo over in Kearny mesa, so it was super exciting to find out there was a Taiwanese style shaved snow shop that had just opened up near us!
We came in and the guy working (who I’m assuming was the owner) began talking to us, asking if we’ve been there before and so on. He has some awesome recommendations (Thai tea shaved snow. bomb!) and was very personal as well. While we were eating he was checking up on us, making sure we liked what we had got, and was making small talk telling us how they are expanding to the building next door (right now they are a little pop up shop).
Super good and there isn’t many places like this in San Diego, definitely a one of a kind desert! Thank you to the man that helped us yesterday you were the bomb!

Came back for a second try because the manager, Jayrell, was kind enough to personally invite me and my brother back and everything was much better!
The halo-​halo was sweeter due to sugar being added :)! It made such a difference lol. And I asked for red beans which made it taste like halo-​halo that I’m used to. Oh reminiscing back to the good ol’ days~
The thai tea did not have sugar just sitting at the bottom and it was sweeter altogether. The boba wasn’t too chew-​y also. My brother said this drink was way better and satisfying. Similar to thai tea from Lollicup even haha. He was very happy with this improved drink.
Their shaved snow was great! I’d definitely go back for it: D! It wasn’t too sweet and it has a nice texture. My brother and I got mochi and captain crunch as toppings and they complemented it beautifully. My brother ate it all up very quickly hahah.
I should also add that the price of the tea drinks went down and a large thai tea with boba would only be 4 $ now. I know my brother will be going back for it hehe. And the halo halo is now worth 5 $ when it is sweetened and I am able to add red beans or other classic halo-​halo ingredients hehe.

Their name is catchy and the Halo Halo and Shaved Ice offerings are customizable. If you’ve got Pinoy roots, you’re going to be excited about this spot and will tell your hundreds of aunties, uncles and cousins all about it. If you’re not, all good; now is the time to try out one of the best Filipino desserts around. I had a chance to come by and try both the Halo Halo and Shaved Ice and both met my expectations and then some. I liked how I was able to choose how to build both desserts since I’m not a huge fan of all the traditional items you put in Halo Halo (think red beans). I tried the Honeydew Shaved Ice and it had a rich and creamy flavor to it. The owners are friendly and have a passion of sharing these amazing treats with the San Diego community! I can’t wait to come back.

My first time here and I’ll definitely be coming back! I tried their mango and strawberry snoice and it was so good that I’m exited to try the other flavors :) I tried their Thai tea boba and I’m impressed. Their boba has a perfect texture! I love, love, love desserts! Especially Filipino desserts! When I found out there was a new custom «halo-​halo» spot in San Diego, I knew I had to be there!
Snoice is a recently opened dessert shop in San Diego, California. It specializes in serving Taiwanese inspired shaved snow, Filipino inspired halo halo, and SoCal crazed boba teas.
Halo-​Halo has to be one of my favorite Filipino desserts. It can be compared to Hawaiian shaved ice or Mexican raspados. Halo-​halo means «mix-​mix» in Filipino which exactly what the dessert is. It’s a mix of sweet beans, jello, ube, fruit, rice krispies, and flan topped with shaved ice, evaporated milk, and ice cream. When prepared, all the ingredients are layered. When you are ready to eat the halo-​halo, you mix it up really good to fuze all the flavors together.
The Special Halo-​Halo I had at Snoice was «oh so yum»! My halo-​halo was made with creamy avocado ice cream. The «pinipig» a.k.a. rice krispies and the leche flan are my favorite parts of halo-​halo. The crunchy, sweet goodness of it all brings happiness to my tummy!
My kids were excited to try the shaved snow. Jelo had plain shaved snow which had a creamy vanilla flavor. He had his shaved ice with his favorite Oreos. DJ had the plain shaved snow as well with his favorites gummy bears and strawberry popping pearls. Shaved snow is lighter than ice cream and has less dairy than frozen yogurt. It’s made from fully-​flavored blocks of ice made with real fresh fruit. There are no artificial colors, flavors, ingredients, or preservatives. The flavors of snow ice Snoice offers include strawberry, ube, mango, Thai tea, and honeydew. My kids slurped up their shaved ice and said, «ooh mom, this is goooooood!»
The shaved snow comes out as fluffy, creamy layers of silky thin, ribbon-​like shavings from flavored ice blocks made with real fresh fruit. The process requires special equipment to flash freeze the blocks in under 4 hours and shave down into an airy consistency.
Snoice also serves up boba milk and fruit teas too!
Snoice will be hosting its grand opening on the Saturday, October 24^th, 2015 at 8423 Paradise Valley Road #B, Spring Valley, CA 91 977. Popped up at the new pop-​up on Paradise Valley Road and I’m loving it! Located in Kababayan Bakery, Snoice offers more than your regular snow ice. They serve it with a consistency that appears flaky, like pastries, to only melt on your tongue with the lightest touch! Not only that, but they offer ice-​cream and halo-​halo — all with a variety of different flavors (i.e. coffee, buko pandan, mango, ube, thai tea) and toppings (i.e. sweet plantains, flan, mochi, pinipig) as well!
Because I had a bunch of family over at the shop, we tried A LOT of flavors. The caramel coffee cookie crunch creation was our favorite one! All in all, the snow ice was rich and creamy, and completely cooled us down in the 100° plus weather. So check out your new local business and keep on coming! You’ll enjoy it in any weather (and you could grab a treat to enjoy from the bakery too)!
