Booked an appt two days in advance at 9am for 4 tire replacements with balance and 5year alignment. Showed up at 8:55am and they didn’t open the door until 9:10… thought there were a lot of walk-​ins but found out there were 10 appts booked at 9am and only 4 people working… so my car took them over 2hours for a 40min job… they were extremely messy with the tire lube and didn’t wipe it clean, doesn’t want to come off now and looks like I drove through seagull poop. Price was fair and service was friendly and apologetic but there was no compensation even though the wait was their own fault for overbooking and opening late…
Bought the 5year unlimited alignment as part of the package so I will give it another try after my next oil change. might just be a faulty appt system and one of those mornings. Tires are great, price fair, staff friendly.

Just got my brakes done along with two tires and an alignment. Customer service was excellent throughout the entire experience, when they told me it would take up to 4 to 5 hours they offered to give me a ride home since I lived so close! Overall a great business, will be returning here for any other car needs.
Update: Recently had an oil change here, and again the service was exceptional and above and beyond what I expect from an auto shop. Can’t say enough good things about them!

First time here and it was for a patch up on my tire. I was told my tire/​rims check out and the patch work would last a very long time however it started losing air again after 12 days. The fellas who worked on it were very helpful and aware of customer service. I won’t be coming back for future service.

I cannot express how grateful I am to the staff at this pep boys location. When a repair job had been fudged on my car t another pep boys location (at the cost of $ 1000 to me), they completely fixed the issue AND another issue that they had detected free of charge for my inconvenience!

These guys went above and beyond when I came to the store with a dead battery. Never tried oversell me and I walked away without paying a dime because it turned out my battery was under warranty somewhere else. Great experience I’ll definitely be back.

This Pep Boys is my go to spot! I’ve been taking my car here for about four years and I’ve always received fast, accurate, and friendly service. Pedro is an amazing mechanic who does impeccable work. So thank you to him for always helping me out! All the guys in this shop are friendly and extremely helpful and knowledgable. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else to be serviced, Pep Boys is the spot.

The first time I came to pep boys was for a oil change not to long ago and waited 2 and half hrs for a filter for my car (which I called in two days before to make the appointment) and the costumer service was horrible. Plus I was over charged and the 19.95 coupon from the site wasn’t counted so I over all was set on never coming back (a heavier set white dude is who I delt with). But I decide today I would call make the appoint and check to see if they had my filter in stock for my oil change, they didn’t but instead of making me wait hrs they’d call me back when it was in and I could come right in. The oil change was done super quick, Giovanni was by far the best person with answering my questions and keeps such a positive attitude like outstanding customer service. He’s the reason I will come back to pep boys because he knows how to interact with costumes unlike some of the other employs

I came in to get a quote on getting my breaks done. I said that if they gave me a good price on the breaks I would also get an oli change. They said I needed to leave my car there so they could check out my breaks and give me a quote, which would be free. When I came back they had done the oli change and said my breaks were fine. I said that I never authorized them to do an oli change. They said to get the «free break inspection» I needed to do an oil change!!! It was over $ 90 for the oil change. I could have gone to the dealership for less than $ 50! This place is a total rip off!

The gentlemen at this location are great. They are friendly and take the time to explain what your car needs, in addition they explain what is needed now, and what can wait. This place is ALWAYS busy, which I think speaks to their service, so be prepared to just leave your car there for a few hours!

Brought 3 different cars here over a 4 year span. First time was great, no complaints. Second time they didn’t screw the oil filter on properly and it was losing oil. Third time was the deal breaker although they did give me a great deal on the oil change, I asked to get my tires rotated and they were going to charge me $ 7.50 (free at discount tire and no purchase necessary) but then they told me 2 of my lug nuts we’re stripped and they couldn’t do it unless I was willing to pay for parts and labor to replace the studs. Also they valued the repair costs to over $ 1,000! Come to find out my lug nuts were NOT stripped. My car was sitting for a week because I thought they were stripped and I had a flat tire. You would think going to a place like pep boys that they would be honest and trustworthy, well that’s not true. I won’t be going here again.

I worked with Matt today. He was really patient scheduling a followup, even though I flaked a couple of times. I was impressed with him. I think it takes a lot of character to admit a mistake and correct it. He did exactly that. In fact, he went above and beyond. In person he seemed sincerely concerned about his store’s reputation, and he wanted me to come back.
When I originally wrote this review, I gave them a one-​star. Since then, my opinion has changed somewhat. While I would still consider them average (a few good experiences, and a few bad ones), I’m willing to continue our relationship. Who knows, maybe one day they’ll earn a five star rating.

I received a call from the manager, Matt. He was on vacation during my visit. He seemed sincerely dissapointed in my experience and insisted on fixing the wheel. I added a star to the original review. To be continued…

I’ve utilized this location twice, and I’ve dumped about 1,000 hard earned dollars there. Maybe I should have learned the first time…
I have a 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP. I got a flat on a Sunday and, this is where they earn a star, they were the only place open nearby. So I brought it to them. Their employee said the wheel was damaged. Because Pontiac no longer exists, and the lug pattern is rare, my flat tire costed me 800 bucks. Not Pep Boys fault they couldn’t find a new wheel, but it was there fault it took them three days. No exaggeration.
I had a bad taste in my mouth after that encounter, but I know they weren’t to blame for me breaking a rare wheel. About three months later I brought in the same car for an oil change and tire rotation. They showed me a place mat with the price clearly displayed: $ 99.00. Seemed expensive, especially since i just bought the tires from them. Big O rotates their tires for free, as do many customer service minded establishments.
I left the car and returned in about two hours. The employee said, «Did anyone call you about the lug nut?» Apparently one of my lug nuts was missing and the threads were striped. He said, «Maybe someone stole it.» He said they could fix it the following day for 60 dollars.
At first I wished they’d have called so I could have authorized the repair and avoided a return trip. Now that I’m in my right mind, they aren’t getting another dime from me.
No one stole my lug nut. I park in a garage at home and at work. And the lugs require a special tool to remove. Plus, no one steals one lug not. What, they didn’t have big enough pockets for two? Why not take the whole wheel?
Not to mention, anyone that has ever turned a wrench knows you don’t strip threads un-​screwing a bolt. You strip threads by trying to force a bolt that’s cross threaded… during install. It doesn’t take a Baker St. Detective to realize they striped the bolt during install. They probably assumed as much too. «Stolen!» Ha!
A reputable business would fix their mistake. Not displace blame.
Did i mention they charged me $ 118? I know CA doesn’t charge 18% sales tax. When I asked about the price they said i got a deal because they didn’t rotates the tires. Because they couldn’t. Their policy doesn’t allow them to when someone is missing a lug nut. Even if the missing lug was likely their fault. They explained the price by saying my windshield wipers were more expensive than anticipated. Well, how about a price range then, instead of a sign with the flat price of $ 99.
If your money and time aren’t important to you, go ahead and bring your car to Pep Boys.

I am a strong believer in second chances (at least in this case!) After a really harsh review, I was contacted by the Manager Matt at Pep Boys.
Matt apologized for the less than satisfactory service I recently received. He wanted turn things around and promised that customer service is what I would get given the opportunity.
Well today I can say that I can recommend this location of Pep Boys after all. Not only did I get what I needed, I got it at a price that made sense, and Matt even throw in some perks, and I really did not expect them at all.
Now my Xterra looks great again with the new set of tires. Thanks Matt for going beyond my expectation; locating these tires, get them ordered within a day and schedule the install at the time it was convenient for me without loosing work time or weekend time for that matter.
Just another side note, seems that Matt and I have something in common; the love for flying. He wants to get his pilot license. So for your private pilots and CFI’s out there, take Matt up for a gratis training flight. He is a lot nicer than I had expected.

First time using pep boys. I called up the sales clerk his name was James, I realized I needed to get in oil change immediately and he made accommodations for me to come on in even though they were clearly quite busy that day. Before I got around to calling pep boys, I called for other places that I found on Unilocal and each of them quoted me $ 74-​$ 71 on this oil change but he quoted me 60 and I was pretty happy with that. They were quick and efficient and the customer service was excellent I’ll definitely come back for my next services and see what kind of consistency they have, but I do recommend that you give them a try.

I would put negative stars if it was an option.
This was some of the worst customer service I have ever had dealing with mechanics thus far in my life, let alone moving to southern California from Chicago. A close friend of mine had recommended the place, telling me that he had a great experience there, despite his car issues, and that they had exceptional customer service. I took my car here with a broken starter that needed replaced immediately, and was extremely disappointed with how rude majority of the workers were upon my arrival, even after making an appointment. There was a handful of miscommunication on their end about when it would be done, and how much it was going to be due to how «backed up» they were. I had left my car overnight to be worked on «first thing in the morning», and found out that my appointment had been pushed back numerous times from their lack of time management (which didn’t stop at my second experience). We were told one day, and it ended up being almost three days. We had took the time to contact corporate about our experience, and they didn’t do anything for us at all except give us a case number, and tell us to talk with the store manager. The store manager, Matt, had apologized numerous times, and tried to suffice for their terrible customer service with an oil change for a later date.
I would not recommend this facility to any of my friends of family, nor will I ever take my business there again.

5 stars solely due to the manager Matt is definitely a great manager. They may not have the most knowledgeable or experienced techs but the manager knows how to get the issue fixed for his customers. His employees messed up on information about issues about a leak and oil tank but he reimbursed me with $ 800 worth of service. I wouldn’t go there again but Matt knows how to make it right. Here’s a tip for employees and customers, if you think there is a leak bc of splashed grease from ball joint on the power steering pump, check fluids, no decrease in fluid level, no leak. Make sure when you give information, check the facts.

I always go to this pep boys for oil changes and always tell them about any concerns I have with my 2008 Nissan Sentra. Great customer service and never leave disappointed. They recently replaced my brake pads and roaders. Their price was crazy expensive but told me they have a price beat for competitors by 5% on parts. I called Auto Zone and Pep boys beat their price! :)

First impression was horrible customer service. It’s taking them over 5 hours to do an oil change. Told me it would be done at 6:15 — 6:30. I called at 7, the guy told me they are just finishing and to come in 15 mins. It is now 7:30 and I am still here waiting for my car. I walk up to the office no one come to greet me or ask if I need help. I have to yell «excuse me» over them cleaning to even get someone’s attention. I’m sorry your busy but don’t tell me it’s almost done and I come and you are still working on it. It also doesn’t hurt to greet your paying customers.
After leaving this review I spoke to one of the mangers I think. He name was Matt. After talking to Matt and voicing my frustration. He went out of his way to apologize even discounted my oil change to show he really was sorry. He called me today to apologize again. That showed me they do care about there customers. I will be going back. Thank you Matt for taking the time to talk to me. I really appreciate it.

2 ½″ drop to my Acura RSX & I needed a wheel alignment stat. Prior to this location, I tried 3 different wheel alignment spots & all 3 places were unsuccessful in doing so. So you can assume my patience was at an all time low & I was getting tired & fed up of the whole situation.
Came here, dropped my car off. There was an issue w/​stock parts in my car & the issues & concerns of lowering my car (a lot of blah blah that I really don’t want to get into because honestly I don’t even know all the details myself) & they were REALLY helpful.
Matt, the store manager, was very patient & explained everything in detail, even when there was an addition concern w/​my alignment, I think he saw the frustration on my face despite not knowing my previous experiences. & he was able to handle it for me. I got phone calls (for updates) & even bugged/​called them a few times throughout the day & they all stayed really patient w/​me, despite how busy they were (They had a full lot.)
They were ALL really nice & friendly. James, Gio/​Giovanni (I think they’re the same person because Gio answered the phone, but Giovanni helped me at the register. Name tag, lol), & There was another gentleman that was really sweet, helpful & friendly named Pedro. He was more of a tech than customer service rep. I think.
I definitely recommend them to anyone & everyone. They have beat competition prices by %5 (Seriously, like. Perfect!!) & their customer service is beyond anything — especially of what I’ve been experiencing the past 2 weeks & i didn’t even have to list off the negatives, they were able to just handle the situation & i drove off the lot HAPPILY (& I mean really, that’s kinda what everyone aims for.)

These guys are so awesome! I love their service here! They know what they’re doing and they were so sweet! I recommend them. I wanted to change my lug nuts for my honda civic, and they didn’t charge me anything! Love em!

This location is not considerate with your time. We were told that our vehicle would be picked up in half an hour (also posted on their website) and a hour later we decided to call them because they hadn’t showed up. They said that the driver was coming from up North. That would have been nice to know from the beginning.
Then when working on your car, they give you a estimate on time and take longer without letting you know. If you don’t mind your time wasted, this is the place.
