Laprom Moving

No call, no show, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Would rate ZERO if I could. We had scheduled them to show up between 9 and 10 am, and called the day of when they did not show. They had no record of us even though we had given them our credit card info. After about 10 minutes of rudeness over the phone, they finally found us listed under the wrong name and had us scheduled for a week later. They said they would check if they could send a backup truck and call us back in a few minutes. They finally called back over an hour later and said they couldn’t come until 5 pm. We told them not to bother. If you are expecting someone to actually show up for your move, I STRONGLY recommend you DON’T CALL these guys.

I called a few place to move this last week. and everyone was booked for the end of the month. When i called Laprom Moving and talked to Garry, he took the time to call a few clients and move the schedule around to fit me in. I was impressed that he would do that! The movers were quick and professional and the job went as well as could be expected. 5 stars to Laprom moving, the movers, and Garry!

$ 300 plus for wrapping 2 beds and 2 tables! Unreal. They damaged and broke one piece of furniture

I think it’s time Unilocal made a ZERO star option. NO SHOW, NO CALL! DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE THIS COMPANY! My husband is in Afghanistan so I was left to move our apartment by myself. Moving on a Tuesday there were no Marines to help me so I decided to hire movers. I found Laprom Moving thru a Google search where they were one of the sponsored ads. Unfortunately I did not check Unilocal first and will never make that mistake again. Laprom quoted me less than another company so I decided to book with them. The man I spoke to said I’d receive a confirmation email that never came. This should have been my first warning with this company. The next day, my movers were scheduled to be there between 12 – 4. After not receiving my confirmation I gave them a call and the man I spoke to assured me I was on the schedule and the movers would call me 30 min– 1 hr before arriving at my apartment. When 3:30 rolled around and I had not heard anything I called Laprom again, only to reach an answering machine. I left my message voicing my concern that it was nearing the end of my scheduled move time and I had not heard from anyone. After not hearing back by 4:30 I decided to call one more time. The person I spoke to put me on hold for 15 minutes while he tried to track down my moving crew then HUNG UP ON ME! I called 3 more times getting an answering machine then finally spoke to James who told me that the movers «should call me soon» and «hopefully they were on their way»!!
Being in the service industry for 10 years I try to give courtesy when speaking to people but this was so beyond professional I went off on this man. How could he expect me to sit and wait for someone that was «hopefully» on their way when I had to be out of my apartment the next day?! I took matters into my own hands, checked Unilocal for someone with great reviews and ended up calling ABC Moving Center, who showed up on time and did an awesome job! Highly recommend ABC if you need movers in San Diego!
Laprom’s rep called me the next morning (my last day in my apartment) to ask me how my move went while the legit movers were at my place. I received another call around noon from the same James who assured me I was still on the schedule and my movers were «hopefully» still on their way. He left a message saying how shocked he was that he saw the movers never showed up and was prepared to offer me a discount if I still needed a crew. Maybe he should’ve listened to me the night before when I said I had to be out the next day. What a disorganized place! How can you not know that your movers left someone hanging?! Moving is stressful enough without an incompetent company to screw you over.
Congrats Laprom, 3 of my friends have already used ABC Moving Center, and the rest of our military friends will continue to spread the word that you are a horrible company.

I had a move scheduled for August 9, 2012. My first experience with the company was talking on the phone getting all the details with a man by the name of Gary. I had a certain amount of money to spend, and he assured me that it would be within that range. On the morning of my move, the two men that came to move me, told me a different story as it seemed to be a larger job than we thought. I now see that Gary just wanted my business and pretty much told me anything to get it. However, the two men that moved me were really great. Their names were, John and David. They really did every thing possible to help keep the cost down and they worked so hard to get me moved as quickly as possible. I would totally recommend them for any move. They deserve to be noticed and I really want to thank them both.

Absolutely the WORST and unprofessional movers ever. DO NOT USE THEM. They have no idea how to move. They are lazy and were on the phone many times. They told me they would cover my furniture with complimentary blankets to protect my belongings, they did not. In fact, they used so few blankets, they didn’t have room for all my stuff!!!

We used these guys because the hourly rate was good at $ 95.00 an hour for 3 guys and a truck. The complaint I have is all the added bullshit fees (that’s how they make their money). If I had been made completely aware of the schedule of extra fees I would have shopped for a better straight forward mover. I compare it to letting the rental car company put gas in the car for you at $ 7.00 a gallon instead of the normal market price. They move a 3 bed 2 bath 2000 sqft. home 6 miles to the new home and it took them 15 hours. Driving time is charged double time WTF!!! For riding in a truck you get paid double versus lugging heavy furniture up stairs? I feel like I got hoodwinked.
