When I remodeled my backyard on a budget a few years back I was looking to do a giant sail shade. Since I did 90% of the construction myself I needed people who were flexible and would only do specific portions of the job. The guys at Awning Solutions were by far the best fit after many, many bids. They welded the huge poles up for me and delivered them so I could drill and sink them myself. The only reason I knew what to do is because they told me exactly. Then they came in and strung up my monster 26×24 shade that they sewed up. This review is a long tome coming. As I sit out back, under my gorgeous sail shade on a rainy night, almost 4 years later, I felt prompted to give them the props they deserve. Thanks fellas… much appreciated.

I needed an awning for my business Sanctuary Salon and Spa in Coronado. I had no experience with this but. Manny Loechner,(who is the Owner), came directly to my business and explained everything that would be involved including what i would need for the City. He presented my awning design to the city of Coronado and got it approved ! I have had it now for 5 years, and have had no problems. Come by and see it for yourself, It still is stunning. Manny & his crew, Carlos & Antonio are great. Manny came out quickly to give me a quote. It was very reasonable that I didn’t have to get another quote. The turn around was quick, about a week. They installed same day. There was one issue that was resolved quickly. The awnings look beautiful. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Am I wrong, or is the name of their firm AWNING Solutions? Their website has lots of pretty pictures of awnings. So I left two messages asking for them to bid on an awning. They never called me back. I wish I could give them a more informed rating. But if they don’t even return calls, they get 2 stars. Not sure how they stay in business!

Awning Solutions, Inc. installed awnings for my neighbor several months back. Although my neighbor wasn’t happy about how the striped pattern was seamed together on the main awning at the front of her house, I decided to contact them anyway knowing seams wouldn’t be an issue as I planned on using a solid color for mine.
Five days after leaving a voice mail during business hours to arrange for an estimate, I’d heard nothing back. I called again and this time spoke with «Ariana» who made it clear they were flush with business and had no interest in working around my extremely busy schedule to arrange for the work. She suggested I measure the awnings myself and get back to her with numbers. She’d then get back to me with a price. Huh??? When is it my job to do your job for you?
The lack of a response to my telephone message, along with their unwillingness to arrange a visit convenient to me, hints strongly that Awning Solutions doesn’t value their customers, at least when money is coming in hand over fist. The upcoming «El Nino» has obviously brought abundant work to such companies who now have little incentive to work with customers, even when business is by referral and virtually guaranteed. Glad I found that out before committing to what would have been thousands of dollars in work. I’d prefer to give my money to a company that appreciates my time and is willing to go the extra mile if needed.

Awning Solutions did a great job of installing awnings at my place of business. The entire process was easy and the awnings turned out fantastic. The install crew was efficient, listened and made any changes I needed and did great. The price was better than others with the same high quality fabrics and galvanized steel frames.

Manny, his crew & his office staff were outstanding! Professional, courteous, friendly, competent are just a few of the words that I would use to describe them all. He made a rope & pulley roll-​up curtain for me for my outside kitchen cabinets area. He matched the color of the curtain exactly to the color of my patio furniture umbrella. He put friction pads on the back where the curtain rolls up against brick columns so the fabric wouldn’t wear. He reinforced the bottom of the curtain where the bar goes thru for long-​term strength. He installed an improved rope & pulley system. I am a very happy customer! I would recommend Awnings Solutions, Inc. to anyone.

His sales person was on our site at precisely the agreed to time, thorough, and accurate. We had a quote almost immediately (vs. 4 – 5 days from some other well-​known places).
In bringing our frames to their shop, Manny was very helpful in color selection, and agreed to repaint our frames to match the material (at no additional cost). This is exactly what a great small business does — they work with their customer in all aspects of the business.
And to top it off, the window shades were done 4 weeks earlier than other quotes, and the guys knowing the hot spell was upon us installed them first thing Monday AM.

I called Awning Solutions based on having read other Unilocal reviews, and the highest ratings are in fact deserved. I called to arrange a home visit for an estimate, and that happened two days later. The estimate was lower than the 3 others we had in hand. Further, Manny advised that we didn’t need to replace the hardware from our current worn-​out awnings. He said they would clean up the hardware and that it would continue to work just fine. We accepted the bid and authorized the work by phone, and they were installed a little over a week later. Manny tells you when they are coming to measure, and when they are coming to install. I didn’t need to miss a minute of work because he managed the entire project from outside the house. The awnings are in place, and they look beautiful. He uses the Sunbrella fabric, so they should hold up well.
So this is a company that makes it so so easy to do business with them. Their prices are great, their scheduling is convenient, their quality is first-​rate, their communications are straightforward, and I didn’t have a single hiccup throughout the process. I should have done this years ago.

Manny and his team recovered our existing frames with the sunbrella fabric of my choice. The first time they reinstalled them we had to send them back because the fabric did not lay correctly. The were reinstalled and my husband noticed some of the seams had not been properly glued down, again they did come out and correct the problem. In the end they look nice, giving a little lower rating due to the problems, it would be nice if they could have done it right the first time. Would I use them again, yes I would give them another try.

Got a quote from the canvas company in La Mesa for three Roman shades. It seemed a little high so I asked Manny with Awning Solutions to come out and give me a quote.
He came out in a couple of days and gave me a quote that was more than 40% less than the other company. A week later he came out and installed the cables.
Once the cables were up, then he took the measurements for the shades — field measurements as he called it. Four days later the shades were up and looking good.
Being the perfectionist that I am, I noticed after a couple of days that the middle shade was hanging about an inch lower than the other two shades. I emailed Manny on a Monday, and he explained to me that it was pretty windy when the shades were installed and it may have prevented the installers from getting the right tension on the cables. He came out the same day, took the old cables down that were a bit low, and hung two new cables that now match perfectly.
I was so pleased — real pride in workmanship — what a concept.
I absolutely recommend Manny and Awning Solutions.

I gotta tell you that Awning Solutions helped me when the original installing contractor would not return my call (that company will remain nameless).
Ariana & Manny listened to my situation, set up an appointment, came out the next work day, and my retractable awning was repaired & re-​installed in 2 days.
Absolutely awesome company!!! Ownership, office staff, and field workers all took excellent care of me & my awning.

We contacted Awning Solutions to inquire about replacing the canvas on our current outdoor awning. They were very responsive and informative and provided a quote for us right away. From Ariana (who helped schedule our removal/​install), to Manny the owner (who provided the quote and I communicated with to select the fabric design), to the two gentlemen that came to do the install of the final finished awning — everyone was just wonderful. The installers also gave up tips on keeping the awning in tip top shape and were friendly and efficient. We LOVE our new awning and it was a true delight working with this company — the whole process was so convenient and we couldn’t have asked for a better end result! Thanks Awning Solutions!

We recently ordered an awning from them. It turned out beautifully.
They did have to do it twice because of a mistake but they just redid it,
no problem. They didn’t argue or anything, they just admitted the mistake
and did it correctly. They were very quick even with the redo.
We love the way it turned out and we added a little bit of color to downtown Coronado.

The team over at Awning Solutions were awesome to deal with. I wanted a slightly different awning for my business that had a custom tilt to it for better street visibility and they were not only open to it, but designed it for no additional cost and installed it problem free. The awning looks exactly like what I wanted and Manny was great to deal with. I highly recommend these guys!

Problem: No protection from sun or rain at the entry doors of our new garage and «companion unit» plus some leaking water in a recent rainstorm.
Solution: Install nice-​looking awnings over the entry doors and seal the top edges against the building.
Manny from Awning Solutions came to our house to see the install location and showed us a variety of awning types and a rainbow of Sunbrella fabric colors and patterns. We decided that three awnings were needed, each a slightly different width. The Awning Solutions team quickly manufactured the needed frames and fabric covers. Installers Joe and Jaime arrived promptly on installation day, attached the finished units, and showed us the best way to clean and care for the fabric, which we expect to last 10 years or longer. Ariana managed our various communications smoothly (including asking for this Unilocal review.)
When we discovered that the awnings hadn’t been sealed (we’d forgotten to specify that detail in our agreement) Joe came back the next day to get it done.

A client of mine requested sheet metal awnings be installed as part of a larger project. Having never purchased sheet metal awnings, I had zero idea of where to go or what to budget. A quick google search sent me to Awning Solutions. Their website said that they offer free quotes.
I called and asked for a very rough idea for a typical sheet metal awning, for budget purposes only. The person that answered the phones informed me that there «is no such thing as typical, all our work is custom», while that may be true, there must be a baseline number for a small project (3’x3’ and 3’x6’ awnings seem pretty standard to me). I was again informed that «all our work is custom and if you want a price you need to come in to our showroom». Again, I politely explained that I just need a very rough idea, «would we be safe to budget $ 200 or $ 2,000 each?» I asked… and again was informed of the previous and repremanded that «anyone in San Diego will tell you the same thing»…followed by a dial-​tone.
Yep. They actually hung up on a prospective sale. Um, thanks for saving me the trouble of actually hiring you.
