Just stopped in to visit the place next door but they were closed and ended up here. So glad we did! We had our lunch outside and the weather was perfect. The food was awesome! Fresh, flavorful, looked amazing and tasted even better! Waitress Jennine was on point, attentive, knew the best on the menu and we followed her suggestions and were not disappointed at all! We will definitely be back!

We have been here several times for breakfast– limited menu but good food. First time for dinner — a lot more selections including seafood. Service was great and quick. Very affordable menu.

Really wanted some good Mexican food without having to cook it but this place was not it. The food was really greasy(I had taco salad) and not very good. Most of the tables that didn’t have quests were dirty, needless to say the service was just not great. The sweet tea was good but that was about it.

It’s just ok. Salsa was warm. I prefer mine cold. I ordered fish tacos which are one of my favorites. This place does NOT know how to prepare fish tacos. I got 2 deep fried breaded fish fillets in tacos. That’s it. No sauces, slaw or anything else on the taco. DRY, DRY, DRY, & no flavor. When I complained to the waitress she said that many people have commented on the fish tacos but that’s the way the cook makes them, the traditional Mexican way. When customers complain, they need to listen. If you want a good fish taco, go to Papa Gallos.

We are new to the area and wanted to get some Mexican food this evening. After looking through Unilocal reviews, we decided to try Limestone. We parked in the back; the front parking lot was full. We walked up the hostess stand and I said I would like to place an order to go. I showed a text message from my family with their orders(not from a menu, just what they usually order) to one of the gentleman at the stand. A waiter looked at my text and wrote down the plates(from the menu from his memory) and even got a lemonade for my three year daughter while we waited. In the corner was a «one man band» with a keyboard and karaōke machine. He sang old country, 80’s country, Neil Diamond, and some disco. It was nice and low key, not overwhelming. My daughter and another toddler danced near the music while we waited for our order. There were plenty of tables with families throughout the restaraunt. Food wise: The chicken nugget plate for the kids was good, but nothing special. The Crispy Taco Plate was good, not greasy, but did have some chunks of onion in the ground beef. The child’s enchilada plate was fine and had nice portions of rice and beans. The fish tacos were also good, but it’s hard to judge them since we ordered it to go and ate them 20 minutes after they were prepared. The tortillas were a bit soggy, but once again, I attribute that to the drive. The Mexican Plate was«good all around, especially the beans.» We haven’t tried many places in Bulverde Spring Branch, but we will definitely keep Limestone on our list.

So I agree with everyone else on this place. It is a very«white» version of Mexican food and definitely only supported by the locals. I used to go here when I was on break from working at HEB. but I never went out of my way to eat here. They were one of the few places that made«bean enchiladas». so that scored points for my family. The sauces aren’t all that, the hot sauce isn’t that good. and the pricing isn’t worth the food. They do get packed on the weekends, but again its because of the surrounding people. If starving and passing through on 281 then stop, but if you can make it farther into San Antonio. then keep on driving!

Very cliqueish, mainly for local country folks that wont drive to San Antonio for real Mexican food. Its menu is large which makes it hard for them to perfect their culinary skills. The food is not what it should be but the locals support it. Skip it and drive down 28110min to something like Lupe Tortillas.

Nothing to write home about here. The place has potential, but it lacks umph. They have a nice dining area and patio, but the severs are sloppy looking, and tables are filled with silverware trays and dish towels. The food is lackluster at best. I ordered the Nachos Compuestos. It looked like a plate of ground beef and velveeta cheese. The only saving grace was the spicy Bloody Mary from the bar. I won’t be going back.

Very simply, skip this place. The food was not good. My enchilada meal didn’t taste very fresh to me. The service time was reasonable. The wait staff were nice but appeared a bit complacent.

This place was better than expected, after reading the reviews. I gave this restaurant(almost) four stars for good food AND good service. The food was not authentic Mexican but still had good flavor. Servers were pleasant and made sure we had everything we ordered and more. Our server even had suggestions for us to order. One rule of thumb, if the chips and salsa are good you can expect the meals to be good. And… the cheese dip was very good. White cheese not that Cheese Whiz stuff! We will come back again.

Just ok. Stopped in on a Friday night for dinner by myself. One man«band» entertaining the crowd with a glorified karaōke machine. Prices are reasonable, food pretty good. The guacamole, disappointing. My waitress gave me the bill before I finished my first taco. So much for dessert! Another waiter bumped into my chair at least three times… No apology, no excuse for that… probably would’ve kept happening if I didn’t move. Finished my margarita on the pet friendly patio.

I’ve eaten here at least 20 times, and I really like it! Portions are big, food is good. I’ve never had problems with service, in fact I’ve always had excellent service! Seems the bad reviews are old…

What’s with the bad reviews? This place is pretty dang good and a welcome Addition to Spring Branch where lets be honest – not too many culinary options to choose from… solid 3 stars. We went in on a Thursday Evening around 7 after a school performance, about 6 tables were seated and we knew most of the people which is another good indicator of popularity. I had been twice before for lunch, this was our first time for dinner. Orders were taken immediately and drinks delivered. Chips salsa are decent, ask for the spicy green sauce. Skip Quac not worth it here. They have a full bar and were advertising $ 3 mango Rita’s but we were not drinking the night we visited. Three of four meals came out immediately. The Limestone ceviche was excellent and a great paleo option for me. For $ 5 I will be a frequent carry out customer just for this! My daughter ordered a bean and cheese kids taco which was HUGE! She is seven year old a bean and cheese connoisseur and didn’t complain so it must have been acceptable. My son ordered the mini tacos, classic street tacos which were also very good and only $ 6 for 4. He prefers flour to corn tortillas(our Yankee roots) so the server graciously brought out additional fresh tortillas. At this time she noticed my husband had not received his meal, apologized and brought him queso blanco(good) to make up for it. Eventually his parrillada especial($ 14)arrived on a huge platter, it was decent, a lot of food. My advice – stick to street tacos and Civeche, you won’t be disappointed by the flavor or value.

Gave this place a try. Chips & salsa ok. Salsa was warm… unique and with good flavor, not too hot. I ordered the Grilled Alembra(spelling?). You have a choice of steak or chicken… I took steak and it was finely sliced pieces that were tough and lacking seasoning. There’s a bacon flavor thru out as mentioned on the menu. Edible, but not that good. Frozen margs were good though.

The family and I came to eat the chips and salsa. Our meal wasn’t the greatest but it was somewhat edible. The reason why they get a 1 star is because as I was paying for our meal a roach crawled out from the chip basket. I will NEVER eat here again. I told the manager and sh confirmed they had a roach problem and the«man with chemicals» had come the day before. Save your appetite and go somewhere else.

We stopped here by chance driving through. Service was good, the place was clean. The food was really good. What really impressed me was the staff gave my daughter a new clean fork almost immediately after she dropped hers on the floor with out being asked to. Really glad we stopped.

Hubby and I came here the first week or so the restaurant opened. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. Against better judgment we both ordered seafood entrees. The ordering process was a bit difficult as our waitress didn’t know what the kitchen had. My octopus dish was swimming in butter. The octopus itself was far from fresh, I suppose they figured if they drowned it in butter it would be edible. Hubby’s shrimp dish suffered from the same maladies. Maybe if we had ordered chicken quesadillas the experience would have been better. As we were eating the waitstaff very loudly gossipped, and it was difficult to get drink refills. Our waitress did ask us how the food was as we hurriedly tried to make our exit. I gave her a forced smile and said fine. Needless to say, we won’t be coming back.

Service was not good. The food did come out quickly once our order was taken. The hot sauce is served warm and was wonderful. The migas were flavorless and bland. The tortillas were not homemade. If I wanted store bought tortillas I would have gone to HEB. I will come back for lunch/dinner but Breakfast was a bust.
