Wow! Unbelievably good food! And they have have fresh homemade bread for the sandwiches. Fantastic side salads. Best meal I have had since I arrived in Spokane. Oh, and Kathleen(our server) was very pleasant and attentive.

The German Dogs were good. The hot dog buns were homemade & very tasty, but had to use knife & fork to eat. Chicken tortilla soup had no chicken in the cup, skimpy ingredients. The blackberry pie was too syrupy, not enough berry. The fresh strawberry pie was too pricey($ 5/slice). The staff were super busy, super efficient & far too focused on the work to be particularly friendly but they were nice. The place is always clean.

We only had pie. The caramel apple with regular crust. It was just blah. Compare to my mom’s, it was no where near as good. Save the cash and buy pie at Albertsons. It’s better and much cheaper.

I stopped in here one morning to grab some breakfast before work. I picked up the quiche(broccoli, bacon, cheese) a piece of gluten free, sugar free lemon meringue pie and the pea salad. Everything was just delicious, especially the pie! I don’t have gluten or sugar issues, but if I can find sugar free sweets that satisfy and come close to the original, then I’ll prefer that. This place has an extensive list of choices for those looking for gluten free and sugar free options. I look forward to many more breakfasts and lunches from this place, and definitely will be ordering my pies here!

I am seriously on the fence about this place. I took my grandmother here for lunch. There was nothing«wrong» with our food. But there was nothing spectacular either. Their prices are high for what they are serving. Our waitress was a little rude to my grandmother who had questions about the menu. We felt a little rushed. I don’t think we will be going back or recommending this place to anyone.

Wow, the worst customer service I have experienced in Spokane. If you look at my other reviews, that’s really saying something! The waitress actually berated us because we didn’t know whether to seat ourselves or wait when we entered. When we were finished eating, she interrupted our conversation, and asked us to walk over to the counter and pay. We ignored her, and she yelled across the room that she couldn’t wait for us any longer because she had to wait on someone. Honestly, you should go there when she’s working because it’s so bad, it’s entertaining. Just be prepared for a heaping side of passive aggressiveness with your slice of pie. Also, next time, try to be a better customer, OK?

Good service! The pies and other stuff they have here look awesome and taste great! I love Huckleberry anything, and they have several options for Huckleberry stuff, including pies, cheesecakes and whatever. I would most certainly come back here! And most certainly recommend this place!

Very good food. I had cheeseburger plus bacon. Chili on the side. Service a bit slow. Staff very friendly. Location is walking distance from customer so glad I found it. Somewhat of a hole in the wall. Would definitely go back. 3 of us went for lunch. One had salad, one had the teriyaki burger with hash browns. NONE of us left a crumb on our plates.

The gluten free pies make holidays feel a little more like«normal». They’re expensive but well made and worth the price for a special event. Since the remodel, I’ve had terrible luck with the service though. I once waited for 15 minutes while the workers walked past me, answered phones, and talked to each other and other customers but no one even said hello to me. Now I basically avoid this spot for lunch and only pre-order my pies to be picked up before family holidays.

After reading Unilocal reviews we decided we had to try White Box. We stopped for lunch and grabbed some gluten free desserts for the road. I was disappointed by the slightly irritable customer service, the disregard given to cross contaminating the gluten free items which were placed close to gluten baked goods, and the overall blandness and lack of flavor our selections had. I think between three of us we tried enough different foods there to rate it a blehhh.

Ate here on a Friday. Was seated by the window, however due to the acoustics of the place I could hear the table’s on the far end of the restaurant conversation. Had the special, French Dip, which was good. the portion was somewhat small, but good. Finally got the waitress’ attention to get our bill and went to go pay. She noticed the military ID in my wallet and told me that military get a free desert. Got some kind of German Chocolate cake and it was outstanding.

After driving past many times and finally looking up their menu, I was so excited to try White Box! It can be hard to find good gluten-free options for lunch, and I wanted to try something new. Initially, I was confused by the indicators on the menu… a few items had the little«GF» symbol next to their names, but most didn’t, and a note at the bottom of the menu said to ask the server what can be made gluten-free. I did and our waitress replied that anything can be made gluten-free. Why didn’t they just put that on the menu instead of the sparse, confusing icons? I hesitantly ordered the grilled hawaiian sandwich with hash browns and my husband ordered the taco salad. When our food came, most of it was clearly low-quality. The hash browns were obviously from a frozen bag, and my chicken breast was the cheap, pre-cooked Tyson type. My husband said his salad didn’t seem fresh and was like something he would get from a grocery store kit. I will say that my gluten-free bun was pretty darn good! It seemed fresh and homemade, and was one of the nicer ones I’ve had at a restaurant. But overall the food was cheap-o diner food… but overpriced! With a tip for our not-so-friendly server — but no drinks or desserts — our lunch cost almost $ 30. Ouch! For that price you could go to one of the many superior restaurants in Spokane that offer delicious gluten-free options. I also got a cookie on my way out(an extra $ 2), which was pretty good but verrrrrryyyyyy sugary sweet. I know some people love them that way, so that’s more of a personal opinion. I did love all of the options they have for gluten-free desserts and will probably come back to try some other ones! All in all, White Box was a disappointment for lunch. I really really wanted to like it and was hoping to add it to my list of Spokane’s delicious gluten-free lunch restaurant options, but that won’t be the case. Do yourself a favor and if you’re looking for a great fresh, local, much higher quality lunch for the same price, visit Stella’s, Central Food or Main Market! I hope White Box steps up their game and can eventually be included among those great places.

We received a gift certificate from our realtor after we bought our house. Too bad! The worst quiche I have ever had. The crust was mealy & fell apart. Eggy, lacking savory filling. Honestly our dogs wouldn’t eat it. I swear on James Beards grave, they wouldn’t eat it. I too found the staff indifferent. I predicted they would be out of business soon, that was 3 years ago! It’s pitiful when you wish a gift certificate from McDonalds was given to us instead.

I had been a regular at the old place and this was my first time at the new place. It’s really unorganized. I waited in a line that I found out was a to go line and then I sat and waited to be served. I ordered a veggie sandwich and told her I was vegan. The sandwich had cheese on it. I then had to wait in another line to pay my bill. I like the old place!

Loud, disorganized, many staff but none were getting orders taken. Finally got a coffee order in and after waiting for 10 minutes and asking two separate waitresses, but walked out. Terrible service, wouldn’t know about food. Just another Spokane restaurant that hires untrained people and has too few on staff to be effective.

The first time I went here, I picked up a couple of desserts for my son who was in the hospital and found the staff to be friendly and nice. The second time I came here I decided to sit down and eat. I had their pastrami sandwich which was pretty dang awesome but the third time I went, my experience wasn’t so great. The lady who waited on my friend and I was either having an off day or she forgot what customer service was about. My friend had specifically asked what sort of lettuce comes on their egg salad(chopped or leaf) and the waitress went in the back to check. She came back and she said chopped so my friend made it clear she did NOT want lettuce on her sandwich. Well guess what? It was brought out with a ton of lettuce on it. I don’t know about you but it’s really difficult to pick chopped lettuce off and get it all, and not take twelve years to do it. My friend being the nice person she is, she didn’t want to say anything. Well I did say something and the waitress just asked my friend if she was okay picking it off. At point the fog cleared and she offered to remake her sandwich to which my friend gladly agreed then as she proceeded to talk, she talked herself right out of that brilliant decision. She once again asked my friend if it was okay to just pick the lettuce off. By this point, I’m seriously irritated but my friend just told me to leave it alone. So I did. And I sat there watching her try to pick all the lettuce off for which she was completely unsuccessful. The rest of the meal every time she took a bite she crinkled her nose in disgust. She really does hate chopped lettuce. The soup was good and there was plenty of seating but after that I don’t really care to go back. Something as simple as apologizing for the misunderstanding and remaking her egg salad would have secured my business but the sheer laziness and put out attitude lost it.

Such an impressive variety of gluten free desserts! I hadn’t visited in awhile and I love their new spot around the corner(patio!) and their expanded menu. They serve breakfast and lunch too(their chili is delicious) and the staff is really friendly. I’ll have to keep coming back until I’ve tried the whole menu. Just the novelty of having so much to choose from is enough to win me over, regardless of whether it’s the best I’ve ever tasted, and what I’ve tried so far is quite good!

First time back since they moved around the corner from their old location last October. They were called White Box Pies then. The dining room is at least four times what it was and it’s no longer order-at –the counter-and-your-food-is brought-to-your-table when dining in. Now there is full service at the table, with the menus parked in a holder at the tables. Your order is taken and delivered while you are seated. I was up and down from my seat trying to decide what slice of pie I wanted to take home. All their gluten free products are baked in house and in batches separated from the regular bakery products. The equipment is then sanitized before preparing regular gluten products. They have separate preparation areas to prevent gluten cross contamination. All questions at our table, and at the bakery counter, were graciously answered. TODAY’S FOOD *Hot Meatloaf Sandwich on gf bun, gf gravy *Side included of Hash Browns *Turkey Croissant Cream cheese, mayo, cranberries, provolone, lettuce, tomato, fresh house baked croissant *Included side of Split Pea Soup *Slice of dairy free, gluten free rice flour Cherry Pie *Slice of regular Mixed Berry Pie Hubby enjoyed his gluten free Hot Meatloaf sandwich. My sample bite presented the fresh house-baked gf roll to taste close to regular bread. That meatloaf was moist but almost bland and was given taste by the strongly savory gravy. My Turkey Croissant sandwich was wonderful. The croissant roll was not beving soggy and I was told by our wait person that it can hold up for a number of hours. The slices of fruit pies were wonderfully fresh. Hubby finished his dairy/gluten free cherry in the restaurant. My regular Mixed Berry was still flaky, and tender, the next evening. Both were not overly sweet. We were there during the height of lunch hour and it took a few minutes to have our order taken. It didn’t help that I kept getting up to ogle the wonderful desserts on display either. But our server Danni was so pleasant, acknowledged us, and apologized for the delay, it wasn’t so bad. A number of to-go orders were placed by walk-in customers while we were there and it appeared to not take more than 10 minutes for their orders be prepared. The small parking lot shared with Subway sandwiches fills up quickly but free street parking is available in the surrounding area.

If you like food from the frozen section in your supermarket than this is the place for you. I ordered the 3 alarm burger and my wife had the veggie twice baked potato. My burger was a tough preformed patty that was over cooked and my wife’s potato was mixed with a bag of frozen mixed vegetables. The one«decent» item we had was a chocolate milkshake. The service was great and our server replaced several items that we didn’t want to eat. Needless to say we won’t be returning to give the place a second chance.
