Best cookies in Spokane, hands down. They are $ 2.50 each, but totally worth it. They were also able to accommodate my same-day last minute order for two dozen cookies, which I really appreciated.

Our friends took us to this delicious little Café today. I really enjoyed it. Lots of great fresh salad choices and a smattering of GF& dairy free options. I had the Asian chicken salad, Sesame Kale, curried chicken salad and a house salad. All of them were great and I believe my favorites were the Asian chicken and the house salad. Portions were very appropriately sized. I also had an Americano and it was delicious too. It came from a real espresso machine instead of a push button machine. All in all a great place that I would recommend to friends. 4 stars instead of 5 for two minor reasons: 1) Not much for the kiddos to eat. Ours had grilled cheese sandwiches. It was good but that was pretty much the only choice for them. I would say a simple offering of PB&J or grilled cheese along with a side of apples instead of a house salad would help hit the mark with most families with kids like me. 2) Lots of great GF options for salads but no GF options for sandwiches. This too seems like a pretty simple change that would vastly expand the menu to folks like me who like to eat GF, especially as it pertains to my kiddos. Overall, no major strikes against them, just minor suggestions to improve an already great menu. I would still highly recommend this place to people. Prices are reasonable too.

I love Taste for a quick, healthy bite for lunch! They have great sandwich, salads, wraps, and soups. And their chocolate chip cookies… WOW. To die for. I would have given them 5 stars because their staff is also super friendly and kind but… the last time i was in i ordered a veggie sandwich and some ingredients were left out. I understand if you run out… but you should compensate with extra hummus or another ingredient. Still a fan but don’t enjoy paying $ 10 for mainly lettuce and bread.

This place has become a staple for me. Their chocolate chip cookies are the best I’ve ever had, and I have had my share of chocolate chip cookies in my day. Excellent service, really friendly people working here. Quality, healthy food and delicious! The caprese salad is great and I also love the bacon, mozzarella and avocado panini, soooo good! I have noticed in the last few months that they have really made an effort to improve their service time and keep the line short and I really appreciate that! I highly recommend this place.

Stopped in Spokane for lunch on our way to Glacier. I was blown away by the freshness and delicious flavors of the salads! 3 salads for $ 10 was a great deal. The kale was my favorite– light and tasty flavors on crunchy kale, yum! The pasta with pesto, chicken salad, lentil salad, and fruit salads were also wonderful. My husband has the salmon wrap which was good but not what we expected– it was mostly lettuce with a rim of salmon salad, good flavor but not much actual fish. Cute place, comfortable seats and very clean tables.

Really nice café with broad menu from coffees, baked goods and lunch café. Support this local gem so it can stick around.

Most often than not I come to Taste for lunch. I am always greeted with a smile and the girls behind the counter always remember what I’d like to have not only does this make me feel really nice but it makes me feel special the way that they care. On top of the awesome customer service that has only improved within the last month the food has gotten better as well I love taste cookies so much. I will continue to be a customer.

Like a few other reviews mentioned, the service isn’t something to write home about. I frequently visit this café because I’m sent here to do coffee runs for my bosses. If it was my choice, I’d go somewhere else because there are other places in the area with better coffee. Each time that I’ve gone in to purchase a few drinks, the person working the counter acts annoyed as if I’m a huge imposition on them. The amount of drinks I get typically range from 3 – 4 drinks; that’s not too much to ask for. The attitude is off-putting and they sure take their time when making the drinks. I wouldn’t mind if they took a while to make my order if if looked like they were working to get it made in a timely matter, but you can tell they take their time. In my opinion, a barista should try to have an energetic/happy front because no one wants to start their day off being greeted with a sour attitude. In contrast to the negatives when it comes to their beverages/service, I can vouch for the name of the café(Taste) when it comes to their homemade cookies and pastries. I have yet to try any of their food, but from the pictures I’ve seen it looks good as well.

My first experience at taste was odd. But reading others reviews about the poor service is kind of a relief. I asked the young girl a very simple question«what’s in this salad?» It looked delicious btw. She blandly listed off some ingredients, which didn’t include what I thought I saw in the giant salad bowl. When I kindly questioned her, I thought she might be referring to the wrong salad… a simple forgivable mistake, she looked at me like I was speaking Klingon, and turned and walked away. I stood there in shock, only to have none of my questions answered and no one to take my order until another girl appeared from behind the counter an eternity later and asked what I wanted. In the end the food was amazing, but Taste should definitely consider hiring new staff. My review would be 4 or 5 otherwise for the food and atmosphere. 1 star for the service!

Coffee is delicious, and my egg on an english muffin brought me home :) This is a nice spot close to downtown, and I can’t wait to see how this area of downtown develops.

I went to taste café for the first time the other day and what can I say it was awesome! Super fresh food and lots of options for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike! The service was excellent, the girl at the register was very nice and friendly and helpful. She made me the best vanilla soy latte I’ve ever had! Great experience thanks Taste café!

Would be a lot better if they weren’t always out of cookies! The cookies are soooo good they often sell out but twice now I’ve been in at 1pm and they have been out:(

It’s a good thing this place makes kickass cookies because the food is quite average and the service is exceptionally awful. I went in here the other day around 3pm and the girl behind the counter greeted me blandly, then took my order. All in all, no big deal at this point. After I paid, she just started talking to the next customer at the display case. Then she rang her up slowly. I was confused so I asked another employee who was racing about distractedly for my order status. This lady just looked at me like I was asking a ridiculous question and said«oh she’ll make it. We just take lotsa orders and then prep them all at once when it’s not busy.» Ok. Odd policy, but I probably wouldn’t have cared if they’d told me it would be a few minutes. What I did care about was this snotty tone and the general blah attitude of the original cashier. It was so obviously uncool that the other customer pulled me aside and said«they aren’t known for customer service. There are always a lot of people back there NOT taking care of customers.» I felt better knowing I wasn’t on crazy pills and took my mediocre food to go as soon as the cashier could be bothered to dish it out. Cookies notwithstanding, I will not be coming back here. There’s no reason to tolerate such bizarrely rude automaton behavior when places like Stella’s and Boots are around. And for baked goods, I’ll happily hold out for Chaps/Cake goodness that is served with such love. Taste is kinda sucky.

Taste is a good downtown option for a flavorful lunch salad(orzo, curry… etc.) Its also a nice peaceful spot to sip a coffee and read. Their chocolate chip cookies are absolutely perfect and absolutely made with butter. I’m giving Taste four stars because they are not open on weekends. Which upsets me because I can’t get their cookies on Saturday.

We are riding around the western half if the US in a motorcycle sidecar, and we drink A LOT of coffee. This place is amazing, the coffee is off the chain, the salad pastas are rambunctiously TASTEY(haha) and Melissa is the nicesest, sweetest bestest barista evar. Go here! Seriously!

If you are in search for the perfect cookie, you have to try Taste. These cookies are HUGE(at least 4″ across), moist, and made fresh daily. Plus, they have them on sale during the afternoon if you want more bang for your buck. As for their regular items, I’ve been impressed so far. I have had the ham & gouda panini(recommend if you aren’t the adventurous food type), the smoked salmon panini(wasn’t impressed, and won’t get again because the flavor wasn’t there), and the pesto panini(recommend). If you are more of a salad person, their house salad that comes as a side(field green, gorgonzola crumbles, and balsalmic dressing) is great, and they have rotating side salads that are pretty good. I really wanted their Wasabi and Salmon salad to be good, but it didn’t have the punch I was expecting because of the Wasabi. I was impressed with their other salads. They also have really nice staff, always a bonus! Regardless, if you are looking for a quick-ish meal downtown near either Sacred Heart or Deaconess, I recommend stopping by and checking them out.

I think it would literally break the faces of the women behind the counter to smile. They were incredibly stoic and solemn, almost as if it was painful to serve people. This place was a bit over priced, but I really did appreciate the fresh ingredients and the wide variety of salads. I could have sampled each and every salad for lunch, but narrowed my selection down. I had the turkey on wheat with field greens. So much food! The sandwich was generous side. The bread was fresh and the turkey was okay. I enjoyed the field greens — but seriously… they were just field greens. My companion had the tuna salad sandwich on wheat and sesame kale salad. The kale salad was actually pretty good. The portions were so generous, which was nice considering the elevated prices. They did have a lunch special salad sampler where you could sample 3 different salads. We didn’t order this, but the portions on this dish were insane. One a side note, they had«healthy» cookies that looked pretty disgusting. I might have been curious to try, but the look of it just turned my stomach. Taste might be a good option for Spokane, but unfortunately there are much better options for more reasonable prices in Los Angeles. Maybe it’s a good thing that competition is sparse in this area, so this place can thrive. Needless to say, in the month I spent in Spokane I didn’t feel the need to return this place.
