Specialties

We are breaking the mold on caring for your canine friend (s).

We require all dogs to come out with their human (s) for an onsite Tour. This takes about 30 minutes and costs $ 10. You get to see where they sleep and stay while resting. For campers who pass our evaluation done at this time, we have 2.5 acres to run around and get their crazy or lounge act on.

We don’t like to call ourselves a Kennel, but rather a home away from home. We offer various sleeping arrangements for dogs Boarding or here for Daycare. We have crates for those who are crate trained. If you want your pack to share a room or they are not crate trained we have rooms of various sizes as well.

Dogs are placed in play groups based on their temperament and energy level, going inside and out all day. When they are not outside they are inside in their space resting up. Lots of strategy going into every day to send home happy, tuckered campers.

History

Established in 2009.

We wanted to create a fun environment for our own pack (ranch crew); fencing, wood chip, rock piles, etc. Owners, Wendee and David, have always been avid animal lovers and decided to start a business they would send their own dogs too. We like the holistic approach of no kennels and a home environment. Having dogs play loose, but always supervised. We offer a fun time for well socialized dogs or good dogs looking for socialization.

Business Owner

Hi, my name is Wendee Phenix and I am the Ranch Boss here at he A to Z Dog Ranch. I moved to Austin from San Diego, CA in 1996. In 2007 my husband David Wilson, The Marshal, and I relocated to Spicewood, TX.

I have always been an animal lover ever. Growing up we always had pets in the house growing up from birds, to fish, cats and dogs. I worked as Network Admin. and then moved into Project Management in what I like to refer to as my «previous life». Enjoyed the people but the work was not something I was never passionate about.

We only have 6 dogs of our own, all rescues. 3 have their CGC and all have gone through obedience training. Our Ranch Crew helps screen the dogs looking to come play or stay with us, our hard working pack.

We started the A to Z Dog Ranch in Sept of 2009. One thing life has taught us that lots of love and patience can go a long ways. We believe that each dog that comes here is special and we try to treat each one as if they were our own.
