Smith’s and Savemart were always my go-to stores that were close by to my home. Now that Savemart is closed it looks like I will be frequenting Smiths on a more regular basis. They are pretty decent for a small area grocery store. Nice selection, clean and decent prices. It does look as thought they have revamped the produce section here. The deli has a pretty decent selection as well. In the past I was always happy that I could get my low fat or fat free cheese here but this visit I was disappointed that there were no selections to be found anywhere of the lower fat kind. This to me means I will have to be splitting my shopping up between stores to get the items I need. The parking lot here is ALWAYS full and packed and often hard to find a spot. The parking area isn’t really very large. The registers were all mostly pen but long lines in each of them. I certainly can’t get in, get my shopping done and get back out and on my way home as quickly as I could with Savemart. They do have some pretty great sales when they have their specials going. I will still be doing a large chunk of my shopping here but it looks like I may be stopping off at Safeway from time to time to get my other needed items too.

I don’t know about the store but at the Pharmacy the pharmacist was so rude and really upset me. He knew I was new and checking prices. The online prices for this place were nice and low we are talking around $ 10. but talking to him and getting prices they were $ 45. and $ 65. When I tried to ask him about he raised his voice and me =(No not friendly at all nor did he want to hear what I had to say. There was only one person in line who was very nice and talking with me so it was not that he was busy either. Very disappointed and I went to walmart where they really did have lower prices and VERYNICE and helpful on how to keep my med prices lower and where to go for the lower prices if they did not have it =) Its so hard these days with and without insurance and some of us have a rough time, we don’t need people like this pharmacist to be rude with us. I will NOTBEBACKTOSHOPORUSEPHARMACY!

It is rare that I stop here as I live far, far away. But I like Smiths in general. They have decent prices on most items. It is easy to find what you want and it is clean. I did however buy a premade product from the deli area and man was it gross. But that is not the usual. Checking out according to my receipt my cashier, nice to have ones own cashier was named Ben. He was very friendly, chatty and informative all the while getting the job done quickly. So yeah if I lived near, I would make this my store of choice.

I shop here almost every day. I much prefer to shop for what I need instead of buying thirty pounds of cheese that half of which I will most likely waste. The staff is knowledgable and friendly without accosting you at every aisle with a «can I help you find anything?» They are there when you do need help but don’t force it on you. They have all your basic needs. But, when it comes to more advanced cooking ingredients, Smiths is not going to be your first choice to find them. Stick to whole foods or trader joes.

Smith’s is a nice all around bread and butter grocery store. It’s a convenient location to my house, and is in a safe area and has a decent selection of most items I need. They have some great sales too. I still don’t feel like this is my main Go-to store yet. Before recently moving into the house I’m in now I lived near the South Meadows Smiths location and the Sparks one is not quite what I’m used to. There is no sushi counter, the produce department is much smaller and has less of a selection overall store-wide. The bakery is smaller too, I bought fresh made bread often before. The staff is friendly and helpful. The South Meadows location had been remodeled and updated fairly recently but it was newer even before that. All in all its not a bad store but it would be nice if it was the Sparks Smith’s turn for a some upgrades to stay consistent with the brand.

Nice little grocery store to grab things you need. But produce is sooooooo expensive here. Like geez… its not even organic and I have to spend $ 1+ per zucchini! A little old and run down but other than that. Its filled with all the basic grocery store needs. Good deals every week, friendly staff. A little messy and cluttered to me but I think this place needs a facelift. Its a more run down grocery in this city.

They sell EXPIRED goods! If it’s on clearence it will be months expired! When you walk past the meat department there is an AWFUL smell! Like rotting meat! Manager is very rude, staff are loud and gossip instead of helping you out. Donuts aren’t fresh, and bathrooms are hardly ever clean. Prices however are reasonable.

I am all about saving money and time. I recently moved to sparks and still made my extra 10 min drive to my old Safeway because I am loyal and resistant to change. My boss told me I was ridiculous and that I needed to at least check out their meat department. I am so glad I stopped in. The staff is so friendly, the store is so clean and the sales are amazing! I recently started couponing and am a slow learner. The staff are so helpful and knowledgeable with my transactions I end up saving more money than I thought I would. The produce is always crisp and fresh and the meat is marked down three days before they expire! I would highly recommend this store for all your shopping needs!

Store manager, Fred: 5 Stars for him, he saved me from becoming a detractor! I think his name is Fred Smith. Anyway I had a terrible experience with a couple store employees and a manager. I’m so glad I asked for the store manager because he really did the right thing and very quickly so as not to waste anymore of my time. Sparks store: 4 stars. I’m a fan of Smith’s stores in general but since this one is missing the awesome sushi section, along with a couple other small things, I can’t give it five stars. Close though! Employees: The regular employees I was working with get 5 stars because they were helpful and happy. When two of the managers came onto the scene they were terrible! It was a big pot for my palm tree that I was trying to buy. The employees scanned it for me and took time to lift it into my cart because it was really heavy, and then the managers came over and said no I couldn’t buy it because it wasn’t for sale. Even though it was sitting out and had a price tag and scanner on it they told me that the deli department had already bought and paid for it. Even though I’d all but paid for it already, they wouldn’t let the regular employees sell it to me — the managers get 0 stars. Major detractor for me. My work says«what’s the right thing to do? Then do it!» So it’s hard for me to except managers who have a no no no mindset. I did ask for the store manager and when Fred came out and heard what happened he had them put it back in my cart and sell it to me immediately, no big deal, like they should have done in the first place. Thank u! I’m now at the north valleys Smiths to get sushi :-))

So not happy with the pharmacy staff. I took a script in to be filled which I knew was going to have to be ordered because alot of people do not keep on it the shelves its a rare one. Well the girl entered my insurance info in and told me its a Rx discount card, umm no its not. They told me my medicine was going to be 200.00 I laughed and said you are putting the info wrong and got my script and left. Called Cigna to let them know what was going on and they said my medication is covered and would be 25 – 50 dollars. I have always had issues at this pharmacy the 3 or 4 times I have used it and I will not be going back.

It’s time to update my review of Smith’s. They’ve improved considerably over the last few years., They did a remodel and the store looks better. And last Friday they added Boar’s Head meats and cheese in the deli. I don’t want to rave too much about Boar’s Head. It says something about society when something is made competently — in this case without fillers and other junk — that it stands out. But Boar’s Head is the best deli meat that I know of in the area. The staff is friendly, too. A few weeks ago I bought some yogurt that was in the mark down bin. I mentioned to the cashier that I would have bought more, but they don’t put the mark down prices on all the yogurt they put in there. He ran and grabbed me five and gave me them yogurt at a marked down price. I’m half tempted to take a star away, though, because it’s still the red headed stepchild of the local Smith’s. The South Meadows Smith’s has had Boar’s Head for months. They also served store baked bread and they have a slicer to slice the bread. And the mark downs on the yogurt are even greater there. But they’re competing with Whole Paycheck. Smith’s doesn’t have that kind of competition in Sparks.

This place is conveniently located right off of sparks blvd, ample parking, and everything is easy to find. I’ve never had any problems with produce or the meat. The employees are relatively friendly, but I don’t really like dealing with the younger ones. Most times they have a little attitude.

This store is pretty bad. Each time I go, several of the items I need are out of date. I mean EACH time I go! I’m not talking like a day or two. I’ve seen things months out of date. Does anyone actually check products in that place?

Ugh! I can’t believe they sell food here! Not the cleanest or friendliest place at all. I have to go here to pick up prescriptions for my In-laws. The pharmacy is great and friendly, but the food/grocery part of the store is pretty gross. stick to Raley’s for a better alternative.

when I was in High school, this store was my life for lunch!!! Then when my family would shop here I would give my dad money to play the slots on the way out and split winnings! I miss Nevada…
