Payless Shoe Source

Great prices for shoes only thing is they dont have a great collection for men so kind of hard to find any work shoes on the cheap. Other than that great customer service a lot nicer than most places.

I have shopped at Payless shoes for years. They are the only store that has my size shoe in cute styles. I have always been happy with their service and the employees until today.
I went into the Prater store to get other pair of shoes for work. I was only there to buy other pair because they were doing their bogo sale. I was shopping when I over heard the manager talking to an employee. She was talking down to her and over using her authority. The way she was talking to her was making me very uncomfortable. Soon after a male employee arrived and the manager began talking to him in the back. They were gossiping about another employee and how she was not doing her job the right way. How she was not to use the register or be a «lead». They continued to gossip about other employees, they were talking loud enough for me to hear rows away. The manager was complaining about how she had to work 14 days straight and about other employee’s days off. I was getting so uncomfortable I thought about leaving, but the manager soon left.
I continued to shop, I needed to find a second pair of shoes to qualify for the sale. I didn’t find anything in my section so I decided to look for a pair of shoes for my husband. I was on the phone with him trying to figure out what he wanted/​needed when the male employee came by and asked if I needed any help. I said «no thanks I’m trying to decide» he said ok then looked me up and down and gave me a (what the hell are you doing in the men’s section) look. Like no wife has ever bought a pair of shoes for their husband! I decided at that point I was not going to buy ANYTHING from that store that day or ever! Even though its right near my house.
If you want to gossip about other employees go in the back so your paying costumes don’t hear it! And don’t judge the customers paying your salary!

The lady working was friendly and helpfull. The store is clean and came with servcie that you never find in a place like this. What did tick me off is having to use my CC card because she doesnt have enough change to pay me back. I hate that crap. Stock the register.
