Great food!!! Horrible service!!! We drove all the way home to find out that our burrito we ordered wasn’t in the bag… We drove back to get it and she already had the same burrito ready in the bag for us,(didn’t even offer a new/fresh one). All she said was sorry… Unfortunately it appears to be a lack of training and management; it isn’t really her fault personally, it’s poor training and management.

They must be under new management. I haven’t been in quite awhile because of a few poor experiences. A root canal brought me back since all I could eat was soft food but still needed some protein. And Lord knows I refuse to eat at Taco Bell or Del Taco. Ordered a bean burrito and some Spanish rice. I was taken back to the whole reason I loved Jimboys in the first place. The friendly service was finally back and the food delicious. Sure the wait in the drive thru was a little long and the price a little high, but for fresh food and a smiling face, I don’t mind.

Food was OK. My meals cheese wasn’t melted all the way. My boyfriend liked his tacos. However I put money in the toy machine and it ate my quarters. I tried again and it ate my money again. The lady at the register states the machines don’t belong to them and refuses to help me. And there’s no contact information on the machines.

I used to come here because it was convenient and ok food. I have not been back since I got food poisoning and violently ill from the daily special. I have no doubt it was from their food. If you are ok with taking chances, go for it, but I don’t think I’ll ever get past the beef enchiladas.

The good is greasy and bland. The beans taste funny and the cheese is American crap cheese. The burritos fall apart from the grease. For the quality, the food is expensive. Go down the street to Los Tees Torrittos. Going here and expecting quality is like going to Panda Express for quality Chinese.

Ehh, its definitely good when you FINALLY get your order. Last time we came they gave us fries instead of rice… on top of taking 20 minutes. Today we have been sitting in the drive thru for 20 minutes they just finally acknowledged us and we are still waiting. Cannot wait to to find a decent Jimboys somewhere in Reno. :(and were still waiting.

If Unilocal had been around in the 1980s I would have given this Jimboy’s four stars, maybe five. The tacos were just that good. The food had gotten to be more authentic in the last 20 years. Ironically, that means it’s gotten less distinctive. Jimboy’s is like so many other Mexican restaurants. The food is almost as expensive as a sit down Mexican restaurant but not as good. Although the tacos, at $ 1.29 each, may be a dime or two cheaper. And they’re bigger now, too. The secret to Jimboy’s tacos is the Parmesan cheese on the outside of the shell. As far as I know no place in Mexico does this. But man does it make tacos taste better, especially ground beef tacos. I used to live on Sullivan Lane and I was a frequent customer of this Jimboy’s. The food wasn’t especially authentic. The menu was limited. But the tacos were excellent. And they seemed to have plenty of Latinos for customers, an acknowledgment that the Parmesan cheese was a nice improvement. I moved away from the area and the Jimboy’s franchise expanded. Some of the other chain locations were just wretched, but the original here on Sullivan Lane seemed to serve as a good flagship. I probably had not eaten here in 15 years. I had subpar dining experience at another Jimboy’s and decided to try the flagship location again. If it was the tacos, I’d give it four stars. That Parmesan cheese coating is distinctive and sets it apart. They’ve expended the menu and the dishes have gotten much more authentic, something I usually applaud. But it’s chain Mexican fast food and it’s not that good and kind of expensive.

OK, I have to confess, Jimboy’s tacos are about as greesy as it gets, probably as bad for you as it gets, but they are my guilty pleasure. I love them! It’s true love. I can’t help it. It’s a relationship that started back in high school when I used to get brain-dead-stoned after school and then go to Jimboys to eat all the tacos I could stuff down my throat. There is something about the greesy meat and cheese with the shell that’s covered in parmasean cheese; it’s soooo incredible. It’s my «White Castle.» I no longer indulge in the Ganja substance abuse beforehand, but the tacos are almost as good without it.
