History
Established in 1981.
The Dockside Inn building was built in the 1930s, and served as a machine shop for decades, in support of many yachts, working boats, military vessels and marine machinery well into the late 1960s. It then lay vacant for many years. In the 1980s it was converted into a restaurant, and its second floor was added, with 6 rooms. Today, the Inn is proudly owned and operated by Glen «Mick» and Joyce Mickowski.
Meet the Business Owner
Joyce M.
Business Owner
My lovely young bride Joyce and I have been retired since 2005 and married since1970. For our retirement we purchased a cruising catamaran and left San Diego in 2006 and spent the following 8 years cruising in the Sea of Cortez in Mexico, the countries of Central America, then through the canal and now we have our boat in Key West Florida. It was time for us to transition back to land, but we wanted to transition slowly, which is why we bought The Dockside Inn and the Hyewood House. We’re in Maine for most of the year, then head back to Key West for a bit to continue to enjoy our cruising itinerary on the East Coast, the Bahamas and hopefully Cuba in the future.
