History
Established in 1916.
The Cottage at The Birches is over 110 years old, and The Birches was built as a summer cottage in 1916. This summer cottage was built by Martha Brown Fink and was bought by the Homers in 1950. Extensive renovations in 1974 have produced a year round house reminiscent of Maine at its best. Today The Birches Bed and Breakfast beckons you to experience its many charms in an area of Maine known for its magestic beauty. Your Hosts Dick and Rocky will welcome you to one of their lovely guestrooms, and you will be served a wonderful breakfast, great conversation, and an informative discussion about the Island’s tourist spots. Enjoy large airy rooms, private baths, ocean views, gardens, and the croquet court. We have 6 acres of grounds, no traffic noise, and it is just 350 yards to the first tee at the golf course.
