We were there for dinner with 5 of us in the party. Sat us quickly. Service was very prompt. My wife had a lobster. She said it was one of the best Lobsters she had. Also there was a gentlemen playing cover for Jimmy Buffet. That’s why I am giving 3 stars. 2 of us in the party ordered the haddock with some Mexican flavor. It was really bad. Cheese was over melted. No flavor on the fish. Please don’t do experiments on paying customers. That’s not fair.

Very friendly staff and charming restaurant. The food however was mixed. The scallops wrapped with bacon was outstanding. The lobster was adequate — you can get much better elsewhere for cheaper. The standard salad was not good(really — how can you mess up a simple salad?) — tasteless and not fresh. So be selective in what you order.

We went for lunch. The seafood-oriented menu has a lot of choices. I had the clam chowder and a Moroccan chicken sandwich. The sandwich was tasty, but the chowder, while also good, was underseasoned. My companion enjoyed her lobster roll. The restaurant was not crowded at the late hour we had lunch, so the hostess had to time spend several minutes chatting with us. A minor negative was that our server did not offer to refill my coffee.

This place should be getting all fives. Great attentive service. Very strong food. Loved our appetizer, of which we will attach a picture. Warm brie in crust with amazing local blueberry sauce. Best dish I’ve had in Maine. Also excellent unique Caesar salad with cranberry and pine nuts. Can’t say enough about what a lovely evening we had.

Worst service I’ve had in a long time, and I don’t eat at fancy places so I don’t have high expectations/demands. Slow, inattentive, careless. Food was mediocre too. Will not be returning.

Worst experience in Acadia ever. Very slow service even on an off-season Friday night(half empty). Ordered house salad and seafood platter. To my surprise, the cucumber in the salad is soggy and it is not edible at all! Seafood platter is not impressive either. Would never come back again!

Best seafood dinner we’ve had in quite awhile. I had«corn on the cod» special, with great corn-based sauce on top of very fresh cod, cooked just right. My wife had shrimp scampi, which she loved. Appetizer(«Greek puff» … veggies & cheese in puff pastry) was outstanding. Friendly servers & owners, too. Can’t recommend this place more highly.

Immaculate rooms very tastefully decorated was like visiting family. Freshly painted with brand new appliances and plumbing, all modern accommodations with old world charm. Don’t stay here so we will be guaranteed to find vacancy next trip as the Café dry dock only has 8 rooms

We were quite satisfied by our scallops and crab cake dinners. The service was quite slow and the waitress was not interested in making our experience memorable, but the food was flavorful and cooked well. Their patio has a nice town view for people watching! Menu had several good sounding options.

Had a very nice lunch today. Haddock sandwich for me, crab roll for my wife. she said the crab was very fresh with just a hint of mayo, perfect. Both sandwiches were excellent. Also both had the clam chowder which was great. Service fast and really friendly. Will be going back.

New England Clam Chowder outstanding, Shrimp Scampie outstanding, atmosphere warm rustic Down East Maine, service & servers absolutely outstanding. Oh yeah cocktails were delicious as well. I come to Mountain Desert Island for 2 weeks every summer I always stop and have never been disappointed. This visit I was asked what could they do better my comment was not a thing. I could not find a thing that should be changed.

We were staying with another couple on MDI last weekend and stopped here for dinner. There was a good mix of locals and tourists. Good variety of selections on the menu. We started with the crab stuffed portabello mushroom and baked brie with blueberry sauce. Everyone approved. For the main course we stuff scallops and haddock. Both came in a reasonable time and were tasty. service was attentive.

Great boursin burger… and the pasta salad was a hit also. Companion had the scallops — a bit overcooked & the chowder — a hit Service was a bit slow, but not unbearable. Would probably go back, was just a short walk from the B&B we stayed at.
