Everyone I know from my college has been here at least once. We all love their Wednesday night burgers. Great atmosphere too and the free popcorn is always good the burger was made well and tasty.

A bar and restaurant that’s perfect for those ‘I just need a drink’ moments after work. Stumbled upon Mr. Joes on Unilocal and ever since then it’s been a great go-to and less than a mile away from work. Score! They have ample seating(if you get there early enough), and it’s casual. The interiors are a bit more luxe than that of your run of the mill dive bar, so it by default attracts people in suits grabbing drinks with coworkers. It’s definitely dim and dark inside with no windows, very tavern like. So ladies if you’re having a bad makeup day, maybe your false eyelashes aren’t working out, but you are meeting up with a guy, this could be a great casual spot. The lighting in here makes you look flawless, it’s great! Built in televisions all around the space play everything from golf to football, and while they may be muted, the ambiance in the space is definitely on the loud side. Happy hour is a bit lack luster with only $ 1 off any drink so it’s not the best deal, but let’s be honest, when you just NEED a drink at 5pm you stop looking at prices. Ha! But I’m happy to report that they’re not shiesty with their hard liquor so my whiskey and ginger ales comes out somewhat stiff(I like It a bit stiffer but I’ll take what I can get) Their food is typical American fare and they have quite the options for apps. From nachos to mini tacos, and sampler platters with everything from chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks, it’s fast food heaven. And while American food isn’t my favorite they seem to do it well based off their offerings and what I’ve had. But I mean, it’s kind of hard to mess up anything battered, fried, then doused in ranch, and I’m more than certain 80% of their apps are frozen or from a can. But it is what it is. They have specials on burgers Wednesday and it tends to get really busy on these Particular nights. While I’ve never had their burgers, I watched my friend eat one and they seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. It was about the size of their face too, so if was quality and quantity at a decent price and you can’t beat that! Overall, I don’t come here for the food it’s more so the atmosphere, to have a quick drink, then I’m out. Service is good, drinks come out fast, and while I haven’t had a bad experience here, I would rate everything just.okay.

I went to this place last night with a larger party. The food here was awesome. I had the nacho which was probably the best nacho I have ever had. I would come back just for that. I was also told that the burgers and everything else was really good also. And the service was great. Our server was on top of things, and our glasses didn’t get empty for long. The only down fall I would have to say is that the beer is a little pricey. The food however was reasonable.

Best place to go for a burger. At least on a Wednesday. The price makes sense for the quality you receive, which is beyond fine, especially for a college student.

Friendly atmosphere, friendly staff. Relaxing. I had the wings tossed in the buffalo sauce. It is spicy and, in my opinion, they go to heavy with the sauce — it is good, but too much of it. The wings were great no need to drown them! I suggest that you order the sauce on the side you first time through. ;) I really like the staff and the overall«vibe» here, great place to unwind. TV’s everywhere and I will be back.

Good service and good food. For me the selection isn’t great so I usually end up getting the same thing every time. Still one of my better places to meet a client in that area.

Great food! Loved the fried pickles. The waitstaff was friendly and the place was alright. My wife was mostly watching tv while i was busy beating half the bar in pool. I also took on some of the younger neighborhood kids outside in a pickup game of basketball. They got mad and threw the ball over the fence, not me.

Fried pickles. Favorite dish, hands down Three stars because the menu is limited, the staff has their moments, and its always super dark no matter the time of day. Prices are fair. Signature dishes are amazing. But they’re not consistent enough for me to give higher than three stars.

I went here for lunch with some work people and when you first walk in you notice that the place is very dark, but it’s a bar. The waitress was very friendly and the food came out very fast, especially for 5 people. I ordered the chili which was very good and I would recommend. I shared fries with someone, which were nothing to write home about. Don’t waste the calories :) Overall a good experience and I would return.

It has been a couple f years since the last time I was here but it was still the same. We only come on Wednesdays for the burger special(4.95). When you sit down they give you free popcorn which is so good. They have a pretty good selection of beers. It is your typical bar(nothing special). I have never had anything other than the burger special. It is actually a decent burger, comes with fries. Comes with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. Anything else is an extra charge.

I had not been to Mr. Joe’s in a few years, not since the remodel. It used to be a cheap hole in the wall with ripped pleather booths. It has since come back as a sports bar with shiny high tops and lots of TVs. We came on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. It turned out that it was their burger deal night. A burger, cooked to preference, all the standard toppings and fries for under $ 5. Good deal. The burger was a good, though fairly standard bar burger. All of the orders at our table were cooked as we had ordered. The server was hustling due the the number of tables. Our food came out in a reasonable time, but it took quite awhile for the server to come back for us to pay our check.

Perhaps our party of 20 were too hungry and had already drank a couple brews to notice if the food was meh… The burgers were disappointing, pre-made and dry, small for $. The patty melt was fabulous ! The fries were lame– thin, shoestring lacking in salt Nachos were yuuuum and toppings dispersed evenly Wings were yuuum– cooked perfectly Sweet potato fries were soooo much better than the shoestring fries There were so many things ordered and many were good. Our waitress was fantastic!!! She was on her toes with food and drinks. We were there 5 hours(end of year teachers celebrating). She kept our glasses full, kept pitchers of water on the table. Kept all of our tabs separate and accurate. I don’t like that they don’t price their drinks on the menu. The size of shots weren’t consistent — my first pirate seemed like a double whereas the second was less than the first. My sex on the beach drinks weren’t watered down. Thankfully we got there early enough to get 4 tables together. I love that they inc. the tip suggested amount for 15% and 20%. Our server definitely deserved above 20!

This review is really somewhere in between 3&4 stars — it’s better than a 3 but a 4 just seems a bit much. I’ve been here several times for burgers with my family and it’s just decent. They’re cheap, pre-formed patties never cooked to order(always come out medium well) on cheap buns and basic ingredients. They’re good, don’t get me wrong, but just very basic bar food. Service is always adequate and sort of friendly. They’re SLAMMIN’ at lunchtime during the week. I’ll be back, as I usually am, it’s just decent bar food.

Eh… It’s a bar… has drinks… bar food. Even tho I hate the wk nite hrs(close at 11), I never considered this to be a place to go specifically for food. I go for drinks and if I happen to snack while I’m there so be it. I’ve only been a couple of times and once had an order of fries. They were the greasiest, waxiest fries I’ve ever had. Still I didn’t think twice about it because it’s a bar:-/ The place is decent, but somehow the atmosphere is too open, almost as if there once was karaōke or some type of live entertainment… It’d be nice if there were some cozier, more intimate areas… Other than that, whatever, it’s a basic bar… great place for meet-ups.

Ah. good old Mr Joe’s. In a nutshell, this is a place that will be packed with area office employees at lunchtime, some of whom will return after work to watch the game side by side with the locals/regulars. If you haven’t been in years, have no fear-the smoking ban has done this place well. You can now leave without smelling like a bowling alley-they’ve remodeled the whole place to ensure that much. The food is about consistent for bar quality in the area — maybe a smidge better. Service is decent and prices are okay.- If your expectations are not unreasonable, I would think a stop into Mr. Joe’s would be a fine idea.

Departing from my normal Fancy Breakfast Thursday(FBT) routine, my friend Jeremy M. suggested having lunch(FLT?) at Mr. Joe’s, mostly in that it’s within walking distance from his apartment. Without other options presenting themselves, I figured why not? Plus there was rumored to be popcorn. I arrived at Mr. Joe’s precisely at 1:00 pm. and was amazed at the busy lunch crowd. After holding the door for what must have been a party of twenty(just think, 4 Scott Wolfs! If only, if only.. .) I entered what I found to be a quintessential American sports bar with an intimate lighting scheme. The room was flanked with some large televisions showing Little League championships(Japan vs. Curaçao) and a few smaller monitors for Keno. Menus were on the table and popcorn was provided upon request. The best part was double ketchup! There were two bottles of Heinz(every American’s fantasy, right?) in the caddy along with an assortment of mustard. Jeremy ordered the«cold plate» which had scoops of tuna salad, chicken salad, and cottage cheese and was served with pita, packaged crackers, and tomato slices. After making fun of his selection(the way good friends do) I ordered my grilled cheese(on Texas Toast) with fries. I also had a coffee which seemed extra fancy since it was served in a glass mug – our server totally joked with me saying, «We’re nothing but first class here.» I loved it. Our food was presented in a small amount of time. Jeremy’s plate looked as I expected, though he maintains it’s delicious. My grilled cheese was basically perfect and the shoestring fries were the ideal accompaniment. Sometimes bars over salt things and these were not at all, bonus point for Mr. Joe! All in all, I would say this was a pretty decent lunch. I was amazed that with tip I was just over $ 11.00 which is pretty reasonable for lunch. I am curious about their pizza so maybe I’ll have venture out again – I know Jeremy’s a fan since he can breeze over from his apartment. Also worth noting, the bar was stocked with many a flavor of Three Olives and Pinnacle vodkas – another bonus point for Mr. Joe. When we left Japan was beating Curaçao 5 – 0. What an exciting lunch?!
