Beans & Cornbread is a Soul Food restaurant in Southfield, Michigan. Beans & Cornbread offers traditional and non-traditional soul food in a casually distinctive setting.

Beans & Cornbread was the brainchild of proprietor Patrick Coleman, who felt the Detroit Area needed an upscale Soul Food Restaurant that incorporated great food and fine dining service. With this philosophy Beans & Cornbread opened in October 1997.
Everyone warned Patrick that «soul food belongs in the city,» but he stayed focused on his dream: to serve the food from his own heritage in an upscale setting. Today, the realization of that goal is a restaurant that transcends cultural lines, and is constantly packed with satisfied patrons from all over Metro Detroit and beyond.
Since opening in 1997 Beans & Cornbread has expanded with two exciting new additions — sidebar wine & martini bar and Red Velvet Room. sidebar wine & martini bar is Metro Detroit’s true upscale neighborhood bar. The intimate space with its sleek wood interior and copper bar offers a great wine list and an eclectic selection of signature martinis.
