History

Established in 1993.

Ray Smith’s tree care career started at age 20. Later, in 1972, he was made partner of Eastern Tree Experts here in Southampton. During this time, Ray was inspired while attending seminars by Dr. Alex Shigo who developed most of the principles that have become central to modern arboriculture. In 1993, Ray established Ray Smith & Associates, Inc. with just 3 people and one pickup truck. Since then the company has grown to 50+ employees and provides full landscape care services.

Business Owner

Ray Smith, a native of Long Island, has 40 years of experience in contributing his expertise to the growth and development of the Hamptons. His passion for landscape care has propelled him to become an important part of the East End landscape and tree care industry. He is the Director of Horticulture at LongHouse Reserve and is a Certified Arborist. Ray is also a member of the American Society of Consulting Arborists. His name and good reputation are well known throughout the East End by clients and industry peers.
