If you want to come out deaf by the end of the night then this is the place for you. I didn’t see the point in having the mics on full blast, my ears constantly kept ringing. I couldn’t even talk to my family without having to yell. Unilocal wasn’t playing when it said«very loud». Also, I called beforehand and asked if this place was appropriate for all ages since I knew some younger relatives were coming along. They told me «yes, bring the whole family» …I guess they thought waving a toy penis around and having people blow on it was appropriate for all ages… SMH. One would think that places like these would have an age limit but I was surprised with the number of kids present. Oh and the food isn’t worth the price and waiting time. $ 30 per head and tip is automatically added to the bill. I almost forgot to mention the inconvenience they put us through of being«cash only» that night. Plus the bathrooms weren’t even clean. I’d rather leave zero stars, but I guess 1 star for having the warrior game on.

Overpriced Filipino food.(I.e. $ 7 for a small bowl of white rice, $ 3.50 for a small glass of soda they poured from a 2liter bottle, $ 17 – 19 for a medium sized bowl of soup good enough for maybe two people)

Give yourself a break and avoid this place. Substandard crappy food & terrible service. Don’t be fooled by the distinguished name of Ichiban. You will not find any of the quality you would expect. Horrible food, horrible accomidations. They even have the nerve to include their tip automatically when they charge you outrageous prices for a glass of wine from a 5 liter box wine you can buy across the street for about the same price they charge for one glass. If I could give ZERO stars I would.

We held our memorial service for my father in law on this place. It’s a bar/restaurant and have a reputation. Well it was a buffet style but I don’t know who catered. The reason this place only one short of a full 5 is because of the food. It was okay but the choices was not very much. I don’t know how this place is as far as normal business but I found the staff friendly and accommodating. I wish I can say more with this review but we were only here for a brief period of time.

My Mom came up to the bay for her birthday weekend and I asked her what she wanted to do. She picked out this place, which I had no idea what I was getting into. When she told me we were going to «Ichiban» I thought we were going to a spot like Benihana or something? Boy, was I in for a shocker! I met up with about 13 of our relatives for dinner. When I arrived, I commented on the set up of the place. It reminded me of an «adult Chuck E Cheese» but for Filipinos. There’s reserved space for your party, and you order as much food and drinks. Each person must spend at least $ 30 minimum. The food isn’t that great here. It’s just OK — not super delicious, but not super gross either. I wouldn’t come here just to eat the food because there’s nothing spectacular about it. They have almost every Filipino dish you can think of: Sinigang, Lumpia, Caldereta, Pancit, Sisig, Kare Kare, Garlic Rice, Fried Rice, White Rice, and even halo halo. The food is not the best, but it’s edible. I really wasn’t feeling the food. So please don’t come here expecting the food to be amazing. There are far more superior restaurants with better Filipino food than here. The halo halo had vanilla ice cream instead of ube ice cream. Major fail. Now, the reason you would come here, is for the entertainment! There’s a cast of gay Filipino comedians who are super funny! They’re only funny if you can understand or follow Tagalog. Otherwise, you are pretty much super screwed. Their jokes are, for the most part, in Tagalog. They have limited English so if you come with your non-Filipino friends, prepare for them to be confused, bored, or somewhat uncomfortable. However, for my Filipino speaking/understanding folks, you will have a blast! They are super funny, talented singers, and they are super entertaining. In fact, I enjoyed them much better than the professional woman(singer/actress). She kinda killed my mood because she came up after them and she not only asked the same freakin questions as them, but she re-sang the SAME freakin songs that they had already sung! Like, come on, WHY do you need to repeat the same exact song. 2x in one night? That was such a kill joy for me. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a good singer but she was so boring to me. It went from super entertaining to just serious, like we were at her concert or something. She needs to either: 1) Not ask the same questions and sing the same songs as the guys, and 2) Learn to read her audience. I notice that everyone started to get super bored or started to look at their phones. I wish they would just get rid of her segment, and just stick to the guys, crowd participation, and then the dancing! I think that would have been more fun. I got so tired after she sang, that I left after a little bit of dancing. Be prepared to be pulled on stage if you are a 1st time visitor, celebrating an occasion, or non-Filipino! You are all easy targets. My cousin brought her non-Filipino boyfriend to the show. This was the first time she had introduced him to the family. The guys were able to ask all the personal questions that parents would have asked(ie. how old are you, what do you do, where do you work, where do you live, etc.) Of course, they did it in a more light hearted, entertaining environment. They were able to break the ice, but I am sure my Uncle and Aunt were shocked about the age gap! Be prepared with your«go to» karaōke song because they may pull you up on stage to sing! It’s definitely a fun place. One of my cousins laughed so hard! I haven’t seen him laugh that hard in a long long time! We all had an awesome time. All my uncles were hung over the next day. I paid the bill for my Mom’s celebration, and it came out to over $ 500 for 13 of us. That included a lot of alcohol, drinks, and food. Gratuity was already included for larger parties. We also gave additional tip by adding cash money into the tip jar for the entertainers to sing songs! It was super fun, and I highly recommend this place for big groups celebrating events. It’s a great place that everyone will enjoy, even if they don’t speak Tagalog. If your non-Filipino friends are good sports, they will also have a good time, especially if they have good sense of humors. It’s not for the light — hearted. Definitely, some good times!

I’ve been here many times to enjoy a good time with friends and family. The performers are funny, courteous, and obviously love what they do. I enjoyed their routines a lot. Not a fan of the service though. I don’t eat or drink any of the food off the menu but I do hear prices are a bit high for most folks taste. Try it out if you’re in the area during the weekend if you’re into these establishments.

The food was mediocre. The alcoholic beverages tasted like they lacked alcohol. The entertainment was pretty good, but what irked me was the owner or whomever wouldn’t give the wifi password because it would«make their internet slow.» Service was terrible. The only reason I gave three stars was because I actually enjoyed the comedy parts of the entertainment.

I really enjoyed going to Edna’s. Let me start by saying I don’t speak or understand Tagalog too well. I can understand the jist of most things said & know enough to get by but truthfully speaking I couldn’t translate it. Place is easy to find, safe area, street parking. Here’s the reality on what to expect from a non-filipino Filipino’s perspective : Food & Drinks were average, however this is not really the type of place to have a sit down dinner. Its a bar, with«palutan»(drinking snack/finger foods & light meals.) Alcoholic & non-alcohol drinks are available & decent price points. I played it safe with lumpia, pancit, calamari & California roll. I found the entertainment to be hilarious in the traditional Filipino sarcastic way. The performers can belt it out. Be prepared to have a song in mind in case you find yourself pulled up on stage. Most Filipinos are not shy about karaōke so this is a fun way to go about it. My only thing, where this loses a huge star, is the bathroom. Fine, its a small place so bathroom is small, but the soap dispenser was literally an empty bottle sitting on the counter. Fortunately I had hand Sanitizer but I don’t want to think was others resorted to… I definitely plan to be back.

We were invited to celebrate my mom’s cousin’s birthday here. lol does that make sense? I really wasnt too sure about what to expect because I have only been to a comedy bar once, when I was in the Philippines. & we almost didnt join the party because I had trouble walking, but boy I am glad that we went anyway. Good vibes all around. Just lots of fun & some pretty incredible singers. The food was great,…not the best, but good! I just wanted to stuff my mouth with food the whole night! haha. Our server was super pretty(I’m a straight woman just to let u know tho) I really thought she was beautiful because she reminded me of a true filipina, almost maria clara beauty. & she was nothing but POLITE& attentive & very soft spoken. She got all our orders right & didnt miss a beat despite the loud music & talking etc., too bad I didnt catch her name, so i could give her the recognition in this review. The content is definitley adult, so guys just be prepared haha. & for asthma sufferers like me, dont forget to bring your inhalers, because you’ll be laughing all night. I was almost afraid of going to bars like this beforehand, but I had so much fun that one visit, that I would more than willingly come back with some of my friends, once we get our schedules straightened out.

Fast seating, comedy club setting, roomy. But they need more staff. Service is very slow! I ordered the pork sisig, shrimp fried rice, and tuna sashimi. The sisig came out first and stayed there until it got cold. Can’t have sisig without rice. Tasty though. Fried rice came out later… cold and it didn’t look like the picture at all… more anemic than anything. The drinks are okay. Comedy show was in Tagalog. Bring translator. Thank goodness for great company!

In my personal opinion and experience with Edna’s Ichiban restaurant in South San Francisco, this place is a rip-off. The food is overpriced and not good or delicious. Service is also lousy. I caught a waiter padding my one time. The so-called«gay performers» are not even funny and ask or demand for tips from the audience otherwise customers will get insulted… not entertaining at all. They even have the gall to collect a cover charge and a service fee. Once you see the first show you have seen them all as they just repeat their show over and over again. I would not waste my money in this place.

Late night of 4th of July we decided to come here. I’ve never been to a Filipino comedy bar before and I only went here because the Lolobear wanted to do karaōke(he doesn’t sing. he’s just up for anything) and the bestfriend suggested this place. Just to set the expectations right: — This is a filipino comedy bar so most of the crowd is obviously of filipino descent. — Talents/Host are hilarious especially if they do their punch lines in Tagalog. — If you are not asian, you are of course welcome to come and enjoy as well BUT please be prepared to be the center of attention especially if you are the only one white/caucasian guy in the audience just like what happened to the Lobear. There will be plenty of jokes that will be thrown at you. — If you are sensitive and with onion skin and can’t take a joke, this is not the place for you. — Good singers are welcome but if you can not hold a tune just like me, much better coz it will be more fun! Watching a PRO sing is nice but listening to the ones squeal is nicer and FUN er. :) — They have full bar but no energy drink. — They serve food here(Yes, they have Adobo, Sisig, and whatever filipino dish you want). Was it good? My bestie said yes. I didn’t try it because we already had dinner prior to coming here. They do have cover charge on weekends. Parking is not a problem. I am giving it a 4 star just because I had so much fun while in the company of the Lobear and the Bestie. KThxBai
