Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott

It was so nice working with Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott — a highlight in the planning process for me. It was so nice to sit down with Jessica, the owner, and explain what I was thinking, and have her get it right away. The set up that she offered was perfect in every way, and I know the cupcakes must have been good because they were gone before my groom and I could even get to them! Thanks for being the sweetest part of our wedding day!

The cupcakes are absolutely delicious! I had one that had a caramel filling and it was so good! I would highly recommend this baker for weddings and other events. When I last went there there were no gluten free options so people with dietary restrictions should be aware of this, but maybe that has changed. It’s definitely a place that is worth checking out, you won’t be disappointed!

In response to the response from the owner– I really wish what you said happened were true. If it were, and if your staff had asked if we wanted to wait– and if you would have responded to my many emails or one phone call request to schedule a tasting then I would clearly not have taken the time to write my very first negative review on Unilocal

A few years ago, Jessica Parrott baked out of her home off Forest Ave. I heard about her through the grapevine when planning our wedding and gave her a call.
She was absolutely lovely to work with! Very responsive to emails and phone calls, and super flexible and helpful with pairing flavors for us. She made a variety of mini-​cupcakes and frostings for our tasting and each were delicious – even the margarita cake! As someone who does not like chocolate, I would have eaten the chocolate ganache frosting with gusto.
We ended up choosing traditional flavors: red velvet with cream cheese frosting for the bottom (12″) and top (6″) tiers as well as vanilla with chocolate ganache for the middle (8″). We had just shy of 60 guests at our wedding and were able to take the entire top tier home.
She understood the type of design we wanted for our cake (very simple and clean, which required the use of fondant). Our guests enjoyed the taste, though they thought it was «a bit sweet» (probably due to the fondant).
The style was what was in my head but not executed as cleanly as I would have liked – in the days before Pinterest, brides didn’t have 1,000 images to show their baker, after all – but I was still happy with the price, taste, and service and would recommend her to friends.
I’m pleased to see that she now has her own storefront. I have yet to visit, but plan to rectify that soon.

Jessica was great to deal with for my wedding, especially considering the crazy point she’s at with her business! At our first meeting, she brought samples of various cupcake flavors, along with samples of different frosting choices, and they were all delicious. She really took the time to listen to my thoughts and concerns, and I felt that I could trust her enough to let her have free reign over the final design. I was not disappointed! My only concern was that they did not hold up very well in the July heat. This was not a big deal for me, but it might be for other brides. My biggest priority was taste, and the leftovers were still amazing 2 days later.

Jessica did the cupcakes at my wedding and they were a huge hit! We had red velvet, lemon with raspberry, and chocolate with caramel (if I remember correctly haha). We recently celebrated our 1 year and decided to check out Jessica’s new shop. We bought a replica of our wedding cake (aka giant cupcake) for $ 15! We also grabbed a whoopie pie for the road… heavenly! Thank you Jessica for all of your hard work!

The cupcakes at Jessica Parrott’s bakery are amazing. I had the pleasure of attending a wedding cupcake tasting at Nothing bakes like a Parrott and I was really impressed by the flavors! My favorite is the French toast. Best cupcakes I have ever had. Really cute shop. Can’t wait to have the again!

I have found my new bakery! I tried this bakery last week and loved it! Many times at bakeries the frosting is good but not the cake and vice versa, however at this bakery the whole cupcake is amazing. And, they couldn’t be nicer.
