Specialties
At Elsmere BBQ and Wood Grill we offer authentic Texas-style BBQ. Our state-of-the art smoker (nicknamed «Mama») is one of a kind and custom built, and we use only wood and handcrafted rubs to slow smoke our meats. No gas touches our product– guaranteed. We use high quality, all natural meats and vegetable and we offer locally crafted beers and daily specials. There are many gluten free and vegan options on our menu, and kids’ meals are half-price on Saturdays. Happy Hour specials are offered from 4−6pm Tuesday through Friday and we love to host nonprofit nights on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings (a percentage of food sales for the evening will go right back to the local organization).
History
Established in 2013.
Established in August 2013, we strive to bring the highest quality BBQ and wood grilled specialties in a relaxed atmosphere with a spacious and comfortable full-service bar. Once a garage and most recently a dry-cleaner, our restaurant has been inspired by its past occupants. Designed around an authentic 20-foot marquee sign from the 60’s, our overall décor mixes raw materials such as concrete and reclaimed wood to create a warm, welcoming environment.
Meet the Business Owner
Adam and Jeremy -.
Business Owner
Adam Powers’ cooking style is heavily influenced by the 10 years he spent as a youth in Southeast Asia. Bangkok’s amazing street food culture provided the foundation for Adam’s fascination with America’s own version of folk cuisine– BBQ. Adam has studied and crafted BBQ for over 20 years, even fabricating his own Texas-style BBQ cooker out of a 1950’s metal refrigerator. You may also know Adam as a founding member of Twisted Roots, one of Maine’s most successful original bands.
Jeremy Rush is Adam’s longtime friend and culinary collaborator. Together they have over 40 years combined experience in the business. Jeremy’s BBQ interest began with fond childhood memories of roadside barbecue restaurants encountered during annual family-visits to Kansas. BBQ is a family tradition for Jeremy whose father used to pull out the smoker for holidays and family gatherings. His love of BBQ has stayed with him over the years and he is proud to share this passion for delicious BBQ with you.
