Rue De Mimo

when i went back here a second time, the owner (or one of them — glasses and bob-​length dark hair) tried to assist me. she wasn’t rude at all but daaaamn she was pushy, and she kept shoving things at me claiming they were totally me, when they were clearly not my style if she’d actually looked at me. i kept trying to tell her no, that’s really not my thing, but she just sort of kept on and i ended up leaving before i’d hardly looked at anything.

I had an amazing experience with the woman who waited on me on a few Saturday mornings. She helped me find the perfect pants, and when I went a size too small she helped me find a way to exchange them and get the ones that were right for me.

I have been coming here for years. The clothing and jewelry are fabulous, cutting edge and unique. The issue I have with the store are the sales people. I could easily spend a ton here, but the. I’ve is off putting. It feels as if all that the sale’s person cares about is pushing the most expensive item. I felt as if all the older woman who waited on me was only focused on making a big sale. I tried on several items, and a few I was not sure about, and was brought out the same one in the largest size. Talk about a self esteem buster. It would be so much better if there was some concern about the woman, and not just the dollar sign. Makes me a little sad since I like the clothing., but will not spend my money in a place where I walk out feeling inadequate.

Great boutique! I have a few items from this store. Almost everything in the store is original and unique. Lots of hand-​made items as well. Liz Paulette and Mimo provided me with excellent customer service, I will definitely be a retuning customer :)

For those of us who enjoy dressing with a stylish difference, this shop is the place. From coats and shoes and hats to pants and tops and «must have» accessories, this is the store that gives me the look that is me. And the prices are so reasonable for what you get. I recently needed an elegant outfit to wear to a VIP event and the owner Paulette and her trusty sales staff pitched in with ideas — based on my personality, coloring and body type. Paulette and Derynne literally put me together, from the fun silver sling back spats (that I never thought I’d wear) to the glorious silver leather neck accessory that went with the crinkly white blouse and textured black trousers and jacket. Derynne also helped me select outfits for other days at the event so that I knew exactly what I would wear. It made packing so easy! As I appreciate honest feedback, I was impressed with Derynne’s thumbs or thumbs down — so helpful in eliminating choices. Sometimes there is only one thing you need to make a statement. A pin, a scarf, hip looking shoes or a cool jacket. You will find it all and the most helpful service at Rue De Mimo. Thank you my «Mimettes» for helping me feel confident and special every time I walk in and every time I walk out of your wonderful store.

I really like the clothes and jewelry in this store and I have been coming here for years
in spite of the negative atmosphere. The sales girls and an older woman in charge are
very rude. I have bought things over the years because it is close by and the area is nice
but I leave the store with my new items and a bad feeling about the experience.
I end up not really wanting to wear the nice clothes because I remember the insulting innuendos and furtive glances of the staff. It is a shame. I wonder who does the hiring and I wonder if the older woman has anything to do with the negative atmosphere. They verbally say their little niceties while they are handing you your purchase but it is almost laughable with their frowns and pursed lips.
I have decided to give this store a rest until they relax a bit and learn how to at least be pleasant. I’ll probably give them another visit in a few months.

Great things, great service. Clothing fits well and is unique and comfortable, lasts forever. I have been shopping at Rue for 10 years and have never left the store empty handed. Great gifts, amazing shoes, purses, jewelry, and of course, tops, skirts, dresses, and pants that you will LOVE.

I hate giving a bad review, but it was really upsetting to be treated so rudely by the staff. My mother and I went after lunch as I have always been a fan of their jewelry. No greeting whatsoever. Just looks and more rude looks. The rudest was an older lady with brown curly hair. I’ve been shopping and supporting since they use to be at Sunny’s now called koi. The owners are nice and have great taste, but since they moved on mission the staff they have hired sucks on customer service. I don’t feel welcomed the last few times I’ve gone.

What a fabulous Store… everything you can imagine for women’s clothing… Style cut color: chalet et ceci, buddha, Habitat…

Absolutely Terrible experience. I do not even recommend to visit the store.
We went inside for the interesting toys on displays. The female staff in the store just ignored us completely. So we checked out the items ourselves. She eventually cared enough to talk with us. The first and only thing she told us is, we should leave because the store is closing. The manner was terribly cold. I smiled back to her and told her that we are leaving. She said nothing and ignored me. Absolutely mood killing.
Yes, the items in the store are cool. The dresses in the store might be creative and awesome. However, this does not mean that they can treat anyone who walks in like nothing.
If they think people will just come and suck their dicks, because they pretended to be high-​class with that bitchy rude manner. They are wrong.

This used to be a great shop, with beautiful, interesting clothes, well made, at affordable prices, with helpful and friendly staff. I used to be a regular customer. Last few times I have been disappointed by the choices, the prices were ridiculous for the workmanship, and the two people working at the time were too busy socializing to bother even acknowledging that we had entered their store.
They have forgotten that not everybody in South Pasadena is wealthy, and that the next customer walking through the door could potentially be a good customer if they are treated like one.

Rue de Mimo is a member of an endangered species: the independent women’s clothing boutique. A retail therapy sort of place with an owner who obviously has a passion for her work and an eye for fabulous. Often, its her behind the counter helping you, as opposed to the teenagers or zombies you find in chain stores.
Its a little pricey, but for some thing special now and then, or if the thought of trudging through the racks at a department store depresses you, (it sure does me) or if you regularly spend big money for a unique, polished and statement making wardrobe, push the silly designer labels aside, and come see what they have here. I feel ridiculous saying it, but, you may be inspired!

I am writing this review because the sisters who own this little couture atelier asked me to be the first man to do so. And I will, happily.
My wife (at the time) discovered the small idyllic town of South Pasadena because of one thing: the preponderance of high end women’s clothes shops, all neatly packed together within a few blocks of one another. Say what you want about my ex-​wife, she remains one of the better dressed women in South Pas. And she owes some debt to Rue de Mimo.
Eventually we moved to South Pas — for the schools, of course, but I suspect my ex didn’t mind one bit being closer to her secret treasure trove of couture shops. We split up, but neither of us have split from Rue de Mimo. Eclectic, chic, European, hand-​crafted, couture, hip, stylish, beautiful: these are all words that apply. I have continued to track down flawless gifts for all cool women in my life ever since I first came here. Fellas — you can’t go wrong if you shop for your ladies here. Hell yeah.
ps: if you shop from catalogs, or in malls, this is probably not your place.

Ladies, read a few of these reviews and then please stop wasting time and get over to Rue de Mimo. You will find unique clothes, shoes and accessories and a good time to boot. All of the staff at the store are friendly and recognize you on return visits, and they will all pull out the most amazing things for you to try on. .. things you never would have thought to put together. Just let go and try stuff on; I guarantee that Mimo and Paulette will surprise you. .. and that you’ll leave happy.

Rue De Mimo! Could I ask for a better place to go for unique and wonderful clothes, jewelry, handbags, and scarves… or i forgot to mention great tights and winter accessories. I always enjoy seeing the two owners Mimo and Paulette in their great outfits, they are also extremely helpful putting together outfits for us ladies…

Love this place! If you want to find a statement piece… this is the place. Beautiful clothing, jewelry, accessories, etc… I always find great jewelry, scarves, & hats that always get compliments. My husband even loves to come with me here! He found a couple of fun ski hats for himself & we found some great hats for my mother-​in-​law. Mimo is always so happy to be our hat model.

I thought for sure I would be the first person to review this place. I love this store! It has such unique pieces that I haven’t seen anywhere else. I have one of their bags, a green purse with spider chrysanthemum flowers and I get compliments on it all the time. I have dresses, skirts and scarves from there and love all the pieces.
They get stuff from small, obscure designers, so sometimes there may only be a couple of that style. I’ve had this problem where I see a piece I like but they don’t have the size and won’t get anymore. But that just means they get new stuff frequently and you’re never going to run into anyone else wearing the same thing. I’m almost afraid to post this place is so cool.
The staff is also super nice and will go out of their way to accommodate you. I recently found out a co-​worker of mine is friends with Mimo! My friend is über-​cool, progressive and kick-​ass so, just by association I know Mimo is also amazing and I’m supporting an awesome establishment.
