Shawn Vasquez has been a DJ/​MC/​Event coordination for the past ten years, and created Amazing Event Djs in 2000 while studying Communication Studies at Cal State LA. Throughout the years, Shawn has refined and mastered his disc jockeying style, enhanced his Master of Ceremonies abilities, and broadened Amazing Event Djs reputation by providing and creating fun, easy going, yet polished and refined events.

My husband and I used Shawn for our November 2015 wedding. First of all, he was always very professional, and very easy to work with as far as any special requests I had. He was so kind to come out to our venue beforehand to discuss lighting, set-​up, and sound. We tested out different shades of my wedding colors to see which uplighting would look the best. I always trusted his opinion because he comes with so much knowledge and experience. He’s very confident in what he does, which makes anyone feel so much more at ease that they are in such good hands. The venue looked absolutely beautiful with the uplighting he used. Also, his website has a link where I could input all my favorite songs. I was able to ask him any questions as far as what songs would work best for grand entrance, cake cutting, first dance, etc. Shawn came on time, he was dressed very nicely, and was so personable.
He was also great at keeping our guests entertained and the flow of the night running smoothly. Shawn went out of his way to make sure that everything ran smoothly. He also had fun suggestions, such as a quick newlywed game that the bride and groom could play in front of their guests. There were other suggestions for giving aways flower arrangements to guests as well, but at the same time, the night was still very elegant and sophisticated. Shawn is able to personalize his services to any venue and style that the bride and groom are looking for.

My husband and I got married 2 months ago and Shawn from the first meeting to the last meeting to the wedding day was absolutely amazing! When we got engaged I was looking and looking for the perfect fit being that at a wedding or event the DJ plays such a pivotal role. With that said Shawn you were the perfect fit and we can’t thank you enough.

My wife and I used Shawn and Amazing DJs for our wedding in November 2015 and had an excellent experience. Shawn went out of his way to meet us at our venue in Orange County prior to the wedding to talk lighting, set-​up and sound. He also spent time consulting with us prior to our wedding regarding the music to be played and the feel we wanted at our wedding. He did all that he could to make sure we felt comfortable during the planning phase of our wedding. He was also completely reasonable with his prices.
He was the perfect MC/​DJ at our wedding. He had energy and enthusiasm, but (unlike DJs we’d seen at other weddings), didn’t try to steal the spotlight by doing too much. He was engaging, had a great sense of humor, and did a great job of getting all of our guests out on the dance floor. He was also able to read the crowd and play the right music to keep the party going.
Also, most importantly, Shawn was so flexible with us throughout the whole process. He never got flustered or frustrated whenever we changed our wedding timeline. He was so patient with us throughout the process. As you can imagine, our coordinator had to redo the timeline at our reception in real time as things went over/​under schedule. Shawn was able to seamlessly roll with the changes and adapt to whatever happened.
I would highly recommend Shawn and Amazing DJs and would definitely use him again in the future.

When we first got engaged, we knew who our go-​to DJ/​MC was going to be for our wedding! Shawn is an amazing professional. He always goes above and beyond for his clients!
Shawn is by far one of the most organized professionals we know. Shawn was not only our DJ/​MC on our wedding day, but he helped put our wedding timeline together from beginning to end and suggested wedding songs for our ceremony and reception! He was such a great help because my husband and I were so busy with small details leading up to our wedding day, that we didn’t have a chance to put a play list together! We left everything in his hands!
On our wedding day, we were behind schedule (45 minutes) Shawn and our amazing photographer were able to bring our reception up to speed! Shawn did a fantastic job at engaging all our guests at our reception and all of our guests commented on how much fun they had at our wedding! Shawn and Chris Morales had the dance floor full at all times! The dance floor was never empty! I would recommend and have recommended Shawn’s services to family and friends! Don’t hesitate, book Shawn ASAP!

Shawn is an amazing professional and an amazing person overall! He went out of his way to help out wherever he could.
I found Shawn on Unilocal and took a chance by booking him based off of the reviews. I can honestly say that the entire process was so seamless from the first meeting to the end of my event.
Not only are his DJ skills top notch, but his website to pick and choose your song requests really helped make my event special.
I am so glad that I went with the package deal with the photo booth and the up lighting as well. The photo booth was such a hit with my guests! The props were very cute (and not cheap looking or cheesy like I’ve seen with other booths).
I would definitely recommend Shawn 100% and I will be sure to use him for any upcoming events!

Shawn is a true master of his craft. We used him as the DJ for our wedding, and we could not be happier that we did! He works with you to choose the kind of music you want, and implements it fantastically in his own style on the wedding day. He also does a fantastic job of keeping everything on-​time and flowing smoothly!
Throughout our time working with Shawn during the planning process of the wedding, he was a true professional who always found a way to implement our unique requests. We had a travel-​themed wedding where we envisioned the tables being assigned a country, and then being announced for food by songs from artists of different countries. He was thrilled to implement this, and it was executed during the wedding PERFECTLY. We had so many compliments from guests on how well this turned out, and Shawn timed it perfectly to build up suspense as well as allow enough time for guests to get food!
Shawn has an uncanny ability to get guests of all ages involved on the dance floor. I couldn’t believe it… everyone from my 2 year old nephew to my 90 year old grandmother were on the dance floor at one point! I had never seen anything like that, and many of our guests said the same thing!
I strongly recommend Amazing Event DJs and Shawn for weddings!

There’s not one negative thing I can say about Shawn. From the day we booked him he was attentive every time we emailed or called. He is very organized and experienced. I like that he provided a timeline online where we were able to log on and add music or rearrange the itinerary for the day of our wedding. We met a few weeks before the big day and went over everything. If you have no idea how to organize your wedding day as far as when you do the toast, first dance, cutting of the cake etc. Shawn has great suggestions.. Also, we had a second dj (Serbian DJ) to entertain my husband’s side of the family and Shawn was more than kind to share his speakers with him to make things easier (which we coordinated a few weeks before)… I like how Shawn pumped up the crowd for our grand entrance and followed the itinerary. He also played a lot of the music we suggested and switched it up a bit to go with the flow of the crowd. He did an awesome job with that. You will not regret choosing Shawn. *Clap clap clap! !*

I don’t have enough good things to say about Shawn. He answered all my questions in a timely manner before the wedding. Showed up on time and had all the odd songs we asked for. Great M.C. He had all the times and events down perfect! It went super smooth! His equipment was amazing and sounded awesome! He even went and got our plates for dinner! He’s very professional and friendly. My husband and I got married in La Canada/​Flintridge on September 27th, 2015. Shawn was polite, communicative and supportive of what we had in mind for our special day. We met with Shawn many months prior to our wedding date and although we didn’t have much figured out he made us felt at ease with the music piece for our wedding. My husband is Mexican so it was a big plus that he speaks Spanish and is an expert with various types of music. Hiring Shawn was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We had our ceremony and reception at the same venue so Shawn had no problem setting everything up on time. We wanted to incorporate a variety of styles and he executed seamlessly. FYI… he is also an great emcee!

I could not say better things about Shawn. I was so nervous about planning a wedding and genuinely felt like I did not know what I was doing, but Shawn made everything so easy for us! He is absolutely fantastic! From the initial meeting, my fiancé and I knew that we were in good hands with Shawn because he was so professional and organized. As the date approached (and as my nerves were becoming more and more unsettling), Shawn eased my stress by answering every question I had within minutes/​hours, no matter how random and petty they were. He ensured that the reception would run smoothly and without a hitch; I actually enjoyed and let loose at my own reception! I cannot tell you how many compliments we received about the music from our guests after the wedding. Perfect for US… and actually EVERYONE — Shawn’s that good. Amazing Event DJ’s was highly recommended via our wedding coordinator and from the get go we were confident we made the right choice. We tirelessly reviewed 10 awesome DJ’s all over SoCal, but Shawn was the ultimate combination of professional and fun. Like a pro Shawn’s setup/​gear was quality, but we hired him because he has a special talent to speak to the crowd and make the party exciting and fun. It’s also a plus he’s articulate in Spanish and also understands plain language so he can relate to anyone. His crystal clear communication is effective universally, no wonder why he successfully covers so many different cultural ceremonies. We overloaded him with music selection and many last minute changes which he handled with patience and calmness and delivered. Months before the wedding we spent sooooo much time formulating playlists on Spotify and were elated that he was able to follow our selections until the day of the event. Our guests were diverse and Shawn was able to transition smoothly from genres (cumbia to rap to swing to salsa to rock en espanol to line dancing to 80’s dance, etc.). If you are reading this stop and call Shawn.

Long overdue recommendation here. Shawn is the ideal professional for entertainment at a wedding. We just watched our wedding reception video and were reminded of what an exceptional job he did with the music and Mc skills. He kept the crowd dancing all night and was fully engaged. He communicated well over the mic with his bilingual fluidity a big plus.
He made us feel at ease with our itinerary and music selection process was superior– far better than anything we could have imagined. He was dressed in appropriate attire and his stratigically placed uplights brought our room to life.
He has a very great personality to work with and was beyond our expectations. Hands down recommend Shawn for your dj entertainment needs or any special event.

Planning was great, work on day of our wedding was unbelievable. He was set up and ready to go and when we got rained on he started rolling in tables with us from outside and drying them off ! Dj skills were awesome and very appropriate. We were very blessed that our family chipped in to help us in our time of need, but the dj!!! Blown away we were! Recommend him ten fold! 6 stars ! Now back to our honeymoon. .. .. Had to write this review today! Did I mention 6 stars?

Shawn and his team are incredible. Incredible.
Here’s why: He’s a good dude, easy to get along with and KNOWS that planning a wedding is crazy and that your time is limited. He built us a set from very little and made it incredibly professional. and fun He’s a pro at this. I’ve never been at a wedding where more people were dancing than ours. People were so sad when it was over cause they still had party left in them.
We had a wide age range at the wedding and he hit every era of music that got people going.
We also used his mics for the ceremony and lights to jazz up our dark hall. Best decision to go with him.

We had the pleasure of having Shawn DJ and MC our wedding on November 22, 2014. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. He took the time to listen to us and got to know what we wanted in our wedding. He was available throughout the entire process and made suggestions that helped the night go smoothly. Whenever, we had a question, all we had to do was to email or text him and he would quickly respond.
Shawn is bilingual which was important for us because we had Spanish speaking family members attending our wedding. He translated the announcements and kept everyone informed. He coordinated with our event coordinator and the timeline of events went as planned. If there were any hiccups along the way, we didn’t notice because he is that amazing and will keep things running on schedule.
He kept our 25 through 80 year old family and friends dancing all night long. We had a mixed crowd but that wasn’t an issue for him. He did a superb job in mixing different genres of music that everyone enjoyed. When I saw my husbands grandparents dancing the night away, I knew we made a excellent decision in getting Shawn. He definitely knows how to read the crowd. We received many compliments from our family and friends. Everyone had an extraordinary time and still rave about our wedding. Shawn you rocked our wedding. We thank you for creating fabulous memories that we will always treasure.
