Had to stop in because my Australian Uggs, that cost me $ 250.00 … made in China and only worn less than a season. tore at the pull tab. I sent them back to UGG. They graciously sent them back to me just as they were. tear and all… Sad to say these are the only boots that keep my toes warm. So, I called Ye Olde Cobbler and he said he had just fixed a number of Uggs in his shop! Thank you Mr. Cobbler for helping me out and being honest and fair with price and time! He was fun to chat with and had his two furry companions with him! Can’t beat a local cobbler with style! He is cash or check… but that’s okay to keep the money fees down!

The guy is a colorful character for sure but he’s friendly and really knows his craft. He repaired a pair of snow board boots for me that I thought were a goner. You must like dogs. He has two very friendly big dogs who are always there.

Well just when I thought there wasn’t any hope for my favorite red shoes, that my dog decided to chew the heel on one! I went to the cobbler & he was able to assist my poor shoes by putting heel tabs on them, he quoted me a price & stuck to it! The only bummer is his hours are limited so after 2 weeks from getting his phone call I was finally able to pick them up!(Thank goodness I didn’t get a storage charge) He is very friendly & an animal lover so that says something about him! I will definitely be back with more repairs in the future! Thanks

Was honest enoght to tell me that the fix will cost more than the worth of my boots and might not be worth it. Fixed my jacket zipper in a few hours and was very nice. BTW, the opening hours on on the door, and are reasonable, in my opinion…

I discovered the left heel of my re-soled $ 160 boots were pulling apart after only 30 or so miles of mild use. I was away from home and so looked for SLT shops. Found this one right off. It was very close by. My experience was great. I was welcomed Monday AM to shop by Rosie the dog and a seemingly very knowledgeable owner who promised repair and some extras in just two days. I needed to leave town on a rugged backpacking trip on Wednesday. I picked up the boots Wednesday. They looked very solidly re-glued and caulked around edges of soles where they may pull apart in future. They have held up under very rigorous conditions. I paid a mere $ 15 for re-glue and caulk. Good deal, I thought. I also got an estimate on future re-soling of same or similar boots — was a bit under what I paid to have them done in Seattle repair shop — apparently defectively. I cannot believe the failure of the Seattle shop, which a trusted local(Redwood City, Ca) merchant had suggested using. I am very encouraged that a fine pair of hiking boots can be made good-as-new by re-soling. I was also encouraged that the owner appeared to have an apprentice on staff Wednesday. I value such craft highly and very much want to get double or triple the value out of tread-worn boots. Now I know exactly where to go or, in my case, where to send boots since I live 4 hours away. My next pair is going to Ye Olde Cobbler Shop. I hope this shop stays in business a long time.

Great job on my boots! My favorite boots have been re-soled a number of times — he did a great job for a fair price in a timely fashion. He appreciates quality shoes and babied mine more than I do!

Odd hours and a refusal to service all shoes make this place(South Shore’s only shoe repair) a hard place to recommend. My last attempt there was a beloved(and $$) pair of Doc Marten boots that needed a new zipper. When I finally arrived at a time that the shop was actually *open* I was told that it ‘wasn’t worth it’ for Mr. Ye Olde to make the repairs. That he made the judgment call on a pair of boots that I’m still wearing(thanks to a less judgmental repair shop in Pacific Palisades) was a bit shocking.
