Bookworks is South Lake Tahoe’s only bookstore. Located right next to Freshies Restaurant, Bookworks is 100% volunteer run with all proceeds benefitting local Tahoe families.

Sweet find that stocks used books. Nice to support this community gem that is run as a non profit. Gracious volunteer run. Find it in back of this funky multi use building.

Horribly rude customer service. Extremely high prices for a used book store. Worse yet — they told us one price while shopping, and then way increased the price when we went to pay. Shop elsewhere! Tahoe has lots of friendly store choices. Do not waste your time here.

We are book lovers and enjoyed browsing around. It is mostly used books and we did find a few things. It goes to a great cause as well. The staff welcomed us and then left us alone to look around which we appreciate. When we were ready to check out, the staff were friendly and helpful. The only challenge is that it is hard to find. You need to go into the doors next to the ice cream store. It’s in the back of the mall.
