Tahoe Quick Lube

I came from San Jose for a ski trip and noticed that my engine oil was passed due. As I arrive to the shop a few minutes before they were closing, one employee signals me to wait and goes inside the office. I wait a few minutes and as soon as it was time to close the shop the employee comes out and tell me that they cannot take any more cars today and its non negotiable. Obviously this move was planned after he sat inside the office counting down the minutes before he was released from his duties. Mind you that an oil change takes about 5 minutes at most quick oil change shops. I explained to him that I am from San Jose and I desperately in need of an oil change but he did not seem like he had any sympathy with my situation. I am reviewing this shop based on the customer service that I received and not on their ability to service vehicles.

I took my new Scion FR-​S here a couple weeks ago and was really happy with the service I recieved. Dan is really knowledgeable and seemed excited to work on my car because he said he hadn’t had one of those in there before. Anyway, they did a great job. Friendly and professional too. Thanks guys!

I went here for a basic oil change and left with a bad taste in my mouth. Two stars for being friendly, however this business seems shady. I asked one of the technician while I paid how long until I should come in for my next oil change. He said, «Five to seven thousand miles, so let’s say six to be safe.» However, when I did the math with the reminder sticker they put in my window, it is telling me to come back after 2,700 miles. Either they are sneaky or just plain bad at their jobs. Also, the invoice stated my tire pressure was checked (included in the package I bought), yet I did not see anyone touch the tires.

I’m not sure how many of these places there are, but from what I can tell this is the correct address where I stopped.
It had been a long road trip, we were in SLT a few days, and I wanted to be sure all my fluids were good to go. I pulled in and asked if they could check my fluids; Lance told me there was a rack fee, but he’d just check for me in the lot.
After he checked all the fluids and told me they were all just a little low; but not enough to top off, I handed him a tip; he said «no, it’s okay, I’m not charging you» — I insisted, it wasn’t much, but it was something.

Hours are 9am to 5pm. Drove up at 4:29pm. Attendant was pulling a car into bay. Got out and told me it was the last car for the day. I needed to get oil changed before morning trip to bay area. They have serviced my car in the past. Never again.

Excellent customer service… very friendly to work with… and was quick like the name.

Yesterday while driving through South Lake Tahoe area I needed the transmission
oil changed in my 1965 Volvo 122. The South Lake Tahoe Quick Lube
did a superb job. The manager was very knowledgeable and professional
in servicing my 1965 car. He is very familiar with older cars and showed us photos
of numerous collector and vintage cars and trucks that he recently serviced. I highly recommend you take your vintage vehicles or any vehicle to his Quick Lube.
I give them a 5 STAR rating in all categories.

I’d give them zero stars, but that’s not an option.
I called to see if I needed an appointment or not to get my oil changed. The guy I spoke with said, ’ we don’t do appointments here, but if you want to come right now, we only have one vehicle in front of you.’ Yay! I loaded my 4 year old in the car and drive right down. I parked where I assumed the entrance was and went into the lobby. I got a nod from one of the guys, so I sat down to wait my turn.
After about 20 minutes with nobody coming to talk to me, I went out to the garage area to see if they could check me in yet. The guy said, ‘oh. You parked on the pick up area. There are signs everywhere telling you where to go. But we have a full lot ahead of you now, soooooo.‘
I am currently out front and still cannot see a sign anywhere that says anything about where my car should be if I want an oil change.
Needless to say, I will NEVER be taking my car here again. And I will tell everyone to go anywhere else BUT here.

was just here as we needed a quick oil change! Lance was very knowledgeable, professional and super fast! we have a 4.5 hour drive back to the bay and now we feel a lot safer since lance changed our oil!

UPDATED: Went back the next morning. Came 10 minutes early and I was still second in line. The main guy was friendly. I did not get the basic service so the price was $ 66. If you need to get an oil change go early.
Bumped rating up from 1 to 4 stars
Cons: they turned me away at 4:30 pm saying that they were closing.
Pros: getting an oil change for $ 30 (that is if you can go in the morning or middle of the day)
Business must be good if you can turn people away at 4:30. I hope I can fit into their schedule tomorrow.

The guys got me in and out in no time. Very clear and professional. My old battery died with the seat warmers and heater on, Lance had a battery jumper and got me back and going.
Pricing is reasonable, even got some windshield wipers.
Nice work, fellas.

The only true «oil change» business in SLT for 30 bucks. Fast, friendly, efficient crew. Clean & comfortable facility. I’ll go back!

So…
I was really impressed when I was there. They were fast, courteous, and seemingly efficient.
Until I later realized they put the wrong kind of oil in my car!!! And failed to properly re-​attach the plates under my engine. I lost 2 bolts, and almost the plates themselves.
Please, please, please go elsewhere…
