Depending on the time of day, there can be a bit of a wait. But this starbucks us able to handle a crowd with ease and I was able to get my standard drip coffee with a friendly greeting and upbeat conversation. If you want coffee and you are near safway you can’t go wrong.

Extremely slow paced with only one employee working register and making drinks. Not his fault since he’s under staffed but at least pay attention to the drink you’re making. He put whipped cream (a lot!) on both of my drinks when I asked him not to. He seemed more into talking to his buddies in the store then customer service. Both drinks were not worth the wait, already melted when I got to my car. Very frustrating.

Being a Tahoe local, I’ve been to all Starbucks in town in search of the best Flat White and I finally found it here! Asked for it at the ‘bucks at the Y, they gave me a latte. Got one at the ‘bucks by Raley’s stateline, same thing. Don’t even want to mention the ones at the casinos… This FW was legit. Too bad I don’t know the girl’s name who made it. Gave them 4 stars just because they’re always understaffed. I know it’s not their fault…

Stopped at this Starbucks to get a drink while others in our group were shopping at Safeway supermarket in which it is located. At around 9 am there was only person behind the register who was also making the drinks so even though the line was only 5 people deep it took about 20 minutes for my turn and another couple of minutes to get my Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino. The drink was made perfectly with absolutely no complaints so it kind of made up for the slow service.

This Starbucks is inside Safeway on Johnson Lane & Lake Tahoe Blvd.
They seem to be full service as far as drinks go, but don’t have as much of the bakery goods, but hey, it’s inside a grocery store, I’m sure you could find something to eat ;)
Baristas are skilled and friendly, prices are average.
I believe there is a no tipping policy? which is the way all Safeway Starbuck’s are?

1st review! I believe this is for the Starbucks inside of Safeway. I come here when I’m craving caffeine in the form of coffee drinks & espresso. Which, lately, I’ve been addicted to. Most of the employees are usually very friendly and accommodating. The first time I came here I think her name is Michelle?, made me the bombest coffee drink I’ve ever had! I haven’t seen her again but I’ve been coming back ever since. Too bad they can’t accept tips.
One time I couldn’t get a hot drink cause according to the barista their espresso machine was down. Boo:(There was also a time when I got a lil stomach bug from their coffee. and my friend said it happened to her too. But it’s just another Starbucks, what can you say. At least there is never a long line like the one at stateline.
