Lakeview Lodge – Heavenly Mountain Resort

We were married at the Lake View Lodge on 8−8−15 and the whole day went off without a hitch! It was a destination wedding for us and our guests, so planning the event did worry us at first. We quickly realized that we were in great hands with Adriann, Libby, Kristen, and the rest of the event planning staff, as they were always so quick to reply to our many logistical questions leading up our big day. They were so accomodating to all of our requests, and made our wedding day so seamless and drama free!
Pros:

— Cocktail hour servers brought the bridal party food and drinks while we were getting pictures taken… this is a subtle but fantastic bonus, as I certainly did not want to miss out on their bacon wrapped scallops!
— Fantastic scenary for fun photo ops… boulders to climb, sunsets to capture, etc…
— AMAZING FOOD! all of our guests raved about it… and still do
— Fun bartenders
— Market lights over the deck added atmosphere at night
Cons:
— I honestly can not think of a single negative thing about this venue!
Normally this might be considered a bit pricey… but since we were coming in from out of town and did not have a wedding planner, the all inclusive «worry free» wedding venue & staff was well worth EVERY penny we spent.
We would not change a thing — ²⁰⁄₂₀ hindsight and our wedding was still perfect and everything we had dreamed of.
RECOMMENDATION:
HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE!!!

First off, this venue is STUNNING for a wedding. My wife and I got married here on June 27^th, 2015 and we couldn’t have picked a better location!
Not only was the view stunning, but working with Libby, Lizzy, Kristin, Adriann and the rest of the staff just made the day that much better. They were very accommodating and helpful both leading up to the day and on the day itself. We got many compliments on not only the view and the venue, but the food as well. It was quite tasty. All of our guests seemed to enjoy themselves quite thoroughly. Thank you for an amazing day!

Libby and her team were so accommodating, patient and overall fantastic. We were there for a wedding and the team made sure that the bridal party was taken care of and when it started to rain right before the ceremony was about to start, they sprung into action and moved everything inside without a hitch. There were a few small things that were missed, no fork for the cake cutting and a tree that wasn’t lit that bothered the groom, but they were happy to help when asked. The venue itself has a nice flow to it and allowed guests to roam freely inside and out. The coconut shrimp and caprese skewers were the best appetizers and the dinner buffet was good.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars for this place. The Lakeview Lodge exceeded our incredibly high expectations! We got married on July 26^th, 2014 and it was the perfect day. The view is incredible, and our family (not from the area) thought it was such an adventure to ride the tram up to the site. The entire experience is a unique one.
I think it would be best to review some of my major concerns before booking.
Firstly, by looking at the pictures, it looks like the tram structure obstructs the view. IT IS NOT NOTICEABLE once you get there! People will already be struck by the beauty of the view. If you have a good photographer, they will get tons of angles in a way that looks like it isn’t even there. I’m so glad that it wasn’t a deal breaker for us. Second, the poles inside the dining area. Again, once you take a good look at the décor, the style from the wood carved chairs, to the branches with lighting gives an «Old Tahoe, Nature, Woodsy Cabin» feel. Remember, it’s a ski resort, It’s fitting and doesn’t look out of place with the rest of the venue. Finally, and like most brides, I was concerned about the food being cold. I even made peace that it was likely to happen since we went with a buffet. The food was piping hot and delicious!
Veronica was great and responsive during the planning process. From rehearsal to the last dance of the night, the service was fantastic. They had champagne in the bridal room for me and my girls. Immediately after the ceremony, they whisked me and my husband away so we could have a couple of moments in private, and brought us plate of hor d’oeuvres and drinks so we could still enjoy the cocktail hour food! There is a charging station in the venue as well, people got a kick out of that.
We were signature away from booking another venue in Lake Tahoe, Thank goodness we found this gem. For the rest our lives, we will never forget such a magical day at the beautiful Lodge.

My husband and I got married here on July 4, 2014 and it was AMAZING! The staff was just so wonderful to work with, Adrianne, Libby and Veronica are so sweet! My wedding was breathtaking, the food was amazing and the service was wonderful! All of my guests raved about the food, saying that it was the best wedding food they had ever had… and we did a buffet!!! Our wedding was perfect. Thank you Heavenly!!!

Review for 7÷4÷13 wedding: It appears that not many grooms have written a review for Adriann and Libby for wedding planning, so I’m proud to be one of the few to say they were incredible to work with and both my wife and I would do it again in a heartbeat. They were both outstanding for the entire year leading up to our wedding. I am far from the easiest person to work with (plenty of questions, verifications, and changes made throughout the course of the year) and they were both extremely responsive to every «urgent» email question sent over. They were flexible with payment options which was great for a young couple trying to fund the majority of their own wedding.
As far as the wedding day, the entire staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. They even remembered my drink of choice prior to the wedding and made several of them for my groomsmen ready and waiting when we all came back into the bridal suite after the wedding. The staff helped get our vendors situated and made as many last minute changes as we needed. They even saved us our favorite appetizers, bacon wrapped scallops) and hiked down the rocks while we were taking pictures after the ceremony to get them to us while they were still warm.
This mountain is appropriately named — the view for a sunset event is heavenly. I cannot wait to get our video and pictures back. We had guests travel in from all over the country and even our vendors who have been to countless weddings said that it was the most beautiful wedding venue that they had ever seen. Not only that but this is the absolute best spot in Tahoe to watch fireworks on the 4^th of July.
The only «limitation» that I found for the lodge was that you have to use their catering for food and you can’t go for a tasting at the time of your choosing. There is a single event that they held where anyone getting married in the next year could come and taste the menu. Turned out their food was spectacular and we craved the mushroom ravioli for the 9 months leading up to our wedding day so really not a huge deterrent, but can be a little nerve-​racking if you are worried about not being able to taste the menu ahead of time.
So all in all, the staff was extremely accommodating, the view was out of this world, the weather is almost always perfect and the price was right. I cannot say this about many things in life, but the Lakeview Lodge at Heavenly and Adriann and Libby far exceed my expectations for our wedding day.

Adriann, Libby and the catering team at Heavenly Lakeview Lodge are all fantastic. The process can be very daunting for any bride when planning her own wedding, but Adriann and Libby made it very easy. They were always there to answer any questions I had, and I never once felt that I was intruding on them.
What really sold me on the venue was how intimate and private it was. You were surrounded by the mountain, trees and of course the clear blue lake. The weather was absolutely perfect, not a cloud in the sky.
Come the day of the wedding, Adriann and Libby made sure everything ran smoothly… they were both so sweet and patient. The apps and plated meals were very delicious and our guests couldn’t stop raving about them. The catering team were all very professional and respectful.
As a bride, I would recommend Heavenly in a heartbeat and it is actually not that expensive compared to the other Tahoe venues.

Well, reading the other reviews, this location seems to be popular for weddings. The views are spectacular, but those of us who are skiing or riding on the mountain see those views all day. But the new «Booyah» restaurant was not good. We have seen several restaurants in this location in all of their permutations — white tablecloths, buffet, now this. Obviously they are looking for a successful model. Maybe this is it, though at half full at lunchtime on a sunny Saturday ski day, I doubt it. Maybe the meat burgers are OK, but DO NOT HAVE THE SALMON BURGER. I asked the waitress if this was ground salmon or a piece, and she said it was a piece. Kinda’. The salmon tasted like it had been frozen for a long time — a «prefab» salmon concoction, rubbery and tasteless. For $ 13, they should do better. Fries are extra. Also, we were not told that several appetizers were «on special» at $ 5 — we learned of the special when we overheard our waitress telling the folks at the next table. Oh, well. My husband’s turkey burger was «OK,» according to him, but it looked horrible with green glop (which the waitress said was dressing but looked suspiciously like loose guacamole) spilling out all over his hands. We won’t go back.

Food was not bad but pricey even for ski lodge standards.
Chili bread bowl + fries + hot cocoa = $ 25.

Our wedding was at the end of June and Libby and Adriann were amazing. This was a destination wedding and they were extremely accommodating. They measured all the railings for us so we could decorate with hop vines and lights, they looked up beers and wines that they did not have so we could have them special order, they stayed longer for our rehearsal so we could finish decorating and many, many other things. They went out of their way to make our wedding memorable and fun. They allowed us to have our two dogs in the wedding. We had two guests take them back down after the ceremony since you are not allowed to have dogs where there is food being served. They allowed us to serve the food a little later to wait for the two guests to get back.
The food was very delicious. We ordered the steak with prawns and the chicken with crab legs. All of the food melted in your mouth. My husband and I had three plates between the two of us. One person did not show to the wedding and they had no problems letting us eat his plate. When my husband had finished his first plate so quickly they asked him if they wanted another one. They were great with all of the food allergies as well. They made us a lactose free plate, a healthy kids plate (special order: chicken with vegetables), two vegan plates and they brought crackers out for someone who was not feeling well. The servers were very helpful and very prompt. They made three to go dinners for us since my husbands nephew was in the hospital (he is doing very well know is was just the altitude he is 1 year old) and his sister and brother in law were unable to stay for the reception.
All of our guests love going up in the gondola and the wonderful view. We had 45 guest attend and some said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. The view is great and the inside was very clean and nice. We had planned for the dance floor to be outside but the weather was to cold so at the last min. we moved the dance floor inside with no problems. I highly recommend this location, it is very private and unique. We looked at many, many other venues around the whole lake and this was hand down the best.

Adriann and Libby were wonderful to work with, and they made my wedding run super smoothly from start to finish. The food was also great — we had plated meals and the beef was cooked perfectly (medium rare, as promised), the chicken got good reviews from the guests, and the vegetarians said their ravioli in truffle cream sauce was delicious. We had numerous guests with specific dietary needs, and Adriann happily accommodated them and made custom meals.
The view was stunning. It was pretty warm the day of the wedding, and without prompting the Libby and Adriann brought out umbrellas so the guests were comfortable pre-​ceremony.
Very glad my fiancé and I went with Heavenly!

Can I give 10 stars? We had our wedding at Heavenly on 9−10−11 and we could not have had a better event! Adriann, Libby, John, etc. were all terrific! They worked very well with our vendors and made our day absolutely gorgeous! You cannot beat the location! The view is to die for and our guests were blown away. Also considering what we got… the price is very affordable. We didn’t have a huge budget and were shocked we could afford a place this fantastic! Book em ASAP, you will be so happy with your decision!

We just had my sisters wedding at Lakeview Lodge and it was perfect! The views are incredible! The Heavenly Staff is very kind and helpful! Dinner was extremely good! Tastes like you would expect from a fancy restaurant, definitely not like other function food I have had before! I especially like the arrangement of rooms and separate dining and dancing rooms, really worked out well!

Awesome views! There is outside seating available on good weather days, and the bartenders are super friendly!!!

We got married there on July 11^th and let me start with saying that the weather, the view the food and just about everything was perfect! I grew up in tahoe and always thought i wanted a beach wedding. We looked at several local venues and lake front places but none of them seamed right for what we wanted. I have been skiing at Heavenly since I was little and it also happened to be where my husband and I had our first date snowboarding, so once we were riding the tram up to check out the venue we both knew this would be the perfect place for a summer wedding in Tahoe. i had seen pictures but had never been to the lodge outside of ski season and I was very impressed.
We used the entire facality for what ended up being about 105 guests. The ceremony was on the stone patio, cocktails and passed appatizers were served on the deck, dinner in the main lodge and cake and dancing in the vista room.
They do not offer a tasting of what you want which is a little bit of a turn off but they will let you go up during another event and let you try there food. (hidden in a back room of corse so as not to bother the guests) The tasting was good but not the best food I had tried but we booked them anyway because everything else was perfect.
We wanted a sit down dinner but it would have been a little too much work as you have to get everyones dinner choice and place it on there place card, so we went with the buffet dinner. Let me say I was totally impressed, as were all of my guests. We had the NY steak and sea bass. AMAZING!!! They also made us one without garlic for someone with food allgeries and a few vegan dishes for some guests. The food was definately alot more than we expected.
Service was great, Adriann and Libby were so sweet and fun to work with. I think the prices are great as well for what you get.
I know Edgwood is first choice or thought for many couples but I think that is just because they dont know about lake view lodge because it is definately the best place to get married or have any kind of event in Lake Tahoe. You cant beat the view!!!

I got married here on June 26^th, and it was a PERFECT event. Heavenly’s staff is awesome; they are super laid back, but extremely professional as well. We worked mainly with Libby during the planning process, and she was awesome; the night ran totally smoothly. Whenever we had a question, she or Adriann got back to us immediately. On our wedding day, the staff did an amazing job of making us feel special; they brought my husband and I drinks while we were doing pictures after the ceremony, when the sequence of the toasts got a little mixed up (our fault, not theirs) they totally went with the flow, and they even brought me Tums when my nerves were getting the best of me :) The venue really cannot be beat; it’s totally private, unique (who else gets to ride up a tram to get to their wedding??), and relatively affordable in the grand scheme of things, especially for Tahoe. Every one of our guests told us what a fun night they had, and we could not agree more. If you are looking for an AWESOME wedding experience, you can’t beat Heavenly and the Lakeview Lodge.

The Lakeview Lodge restaurant was a great stop for lunch on a gorgeous sunny day atop Heavenly Mountain. The prices are a little steep, but the food quality was superb and the views are bar none.
My wife and I shared a bowl of their seafood chowder, which was hearty and scrumptious, and oops! I accidentally brought you an extra cups worth… I guess you’ll have to enjoy that too.
For the main dish, we shared the lobster roll, which was, seriously, one of the best I’ve had, with huge chunks of claw meat, a light citrus dressing and bursting with flavors of tarragon an fennel. OMG, I just got goosebumps describing this sandwich! The sandwich came with a side of truffled fries, which were, of course, delicious.
The joint was jamming, and we initially waited a few minutes for a table, but once the meal got rolling, we were on our was to a great dining experience.
I usually don’t stop for lunch while riding, however this was one place that was absolutely worth the break!

I just had my wedding at Heavenly and it was fantastic! The wedding location is at the Lakeview Lodge at the top of the tram (not the gondola). The views from up there are absolutely spectacular and all the guests just loved it. It was also tons of fun to get all of our guests, most from out of town and not skiiers, to take the tram up to the wedding location. The tram and the view made made for a special day for everyone!
There are tons of options as to how to do your wedding. The ceremony is usually held outside with the amazing view of the lake in the background. We then did cocktail hour on the deck with passed appetizers and then a sit down dinner. There were also good options for displayed appetizers and buffet dinners as well. Heavenly isn’t cheap but the price is right for the amazing location and for the service we received.
The only complaints we had were pretty minor. Our main dislike was the fact that we had to get the meal choices from all the guests prior to the event and then list the meal choice on the placecards. Having our guests choose their meal ahead of time wasn’t ideal but wasn’t too bad either. However, I found having to list the meal choice on the placecards a ton a work and a bit tacky. We didn’t look at any other venues that had that requirement and I don’t think I’ve ever been to a wedding where you had to do that.
The dessert choices were also a bit disappointing– cheesecake, fruit pies, or an ice cream sundae bar. Where is the chocolate? A chocolate mouse or maybe a crème brûlée would have been a great addition. The seating chart that I planned with the wedding coordinators was also not the way that the tables were arranged when we arrived so that caused a moment of panic as I then had to totally re-​do some of the seating at the last minute. We also put alot of work into choosing some special wines that were not on their wine list, only to be told at the last minute that those wines had to be ordered by the case instead of the usual by the bottle. Totally fair, but that information should have been presented months earlier when we began discussing ordering other wines.
However, in the grand scheme of the event, those complaints were pretty minor and were more than made up for by the amazing location. The two wedding coordinators, Adriann and her assistant Libby, were both absolutely fantastic. Both of them were incredibly nice and down to earth and willing to work with us for whatever we wanted for the wedding. They also always responded promptly to every single email we went to them. They were both fantastic on the day making sure everything went smoothly and they even checked in during the dinner with our families and many guests to make sure everyone was happy.
Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic day and all of our guests absolutely loved taking the tram up for the wedding and were amazed by the view. I would highly recommend having your wedding at Heavenly!
