Four Paws Grooming & Boarding

I have a golden doodle and I have brought my dog here for grooming 3 times. They are great. They even gave my puppy some dog treats. The price is great and they do a great job. If you are looking for a dog grooming location in South Lake Tahoe, I recommend this place. Thanks.

We live down the street from this place so despite the fact that this place is a bit more expensive and whatever they bathed the cat with last time got him sick… my sister figured we would try it one more time…
My sister and I called at least 3 times each, during business hours and got the answering machine… and no one called back… finally when i got a hold of someone… she couldnt book me an apt because she didnt know where her book was…
Finally my sister went in (not to mention the woman had no teeth and looks a little meth-​headish) and after a couple of attempts successfully made an apt for a sunday at 3:00…low and behold at 2:00 on sunday the woman called and cancelled…
Im pretty sure the grooming is a cover for selling drugs out of there but either way dont even try it…
I have booked my cat to get shaved this week at pawfection pet salon off tahoe keys blvd… we will see how that goes, but they picked up the phone on the first call and were able to fit me in so things are looking good so far… ill try and update when i can

I would definitely leave my dog here if i didn’t like him very much. We arrived at the place at the agreed time of 8 am Saturday morning. No one was there. Then someone turned up after I called the emergency number on the door. We went in and handed over our 9 month puppy. I asked if I could see where he would be staying. No problem. We went into the back and saw about three dogs in large cages. Not much light and the place stank! I mean, I have a dog and I know it’s hard to keep cleaning up after them but the place smelt of piss and shit. And then we saw why, a dog was sat in both. How long had they been there? Without much options we left our puppy. He is a dog after all and doesn’t need the Hilton. I called about 2 in the afternoon as I wanted to check how he was doing. Left a message. Called back again at 5. Left another message. About 6 I called the emergency number. The lady (owner?) was nice and told me she had checked on my dog and that he was fine and happy. I started to tell her that I was concerned about whether he had been walked as I has left multiple messages and no one answered or called back. She cut me off mid sentence and told me that he would be ready for collection tomorrow. When we went to pick our dog up we met the employee coming in after having walked one of the dogs. We felt a bit better. He seemed to like the dogs and we were shown to our dog. He warned us about the smell as he had just cleaned up some mess. The dog that had just been brought in was sat in a cage that still had mess in it. There were plenty of empty cages. Why not put the dog in one and clean his cage out. We picked up our dog who, to be fair was fine and in good spirits. Was it just that he was pleased to be getting into our clean car? It’s not that it’s a dreadful, horrible place, it’s just that the owner doesn’t seem to care, about you or your dogs experience. I looked at the phone as I left (8am sunday) and there were 13 messages. I doubt they were words of thanks. If it sounds like I have gone off on one and that I am one of those people that is never happy, read another one of my review. I rarely put up negative reviews and often put down any bad experience to a place having a bad day, especially if they have had good Unilocal reviews. I gave them one star because my dog was still alive and still there when I returned. We won’t be using them again.
