I like it! its small, really small! but the beer is what counts and they have a great selection. I like the lighter ales, but my family goes for the heavy duty stuff. 3 wood picnic tables and a 10 (?) seat bar. Servers are nice, Ingrid &? sorry can’t remember the other girl, but they are both nice. Careful, just 2 glasses of even the light beers and you catch a buzz!!!

I visited this location last Saturday. I was surprised that there was a brewery in El Monte. This location is a perfect neighborhood hang out. The beer is excellent and the environment is relaxed. Keep up the good work!

Great beer and the price is amazing. This place get pretty pack. No food but they have a food truck partners. Fun night with no headache the next morning is a great beers!

nice little brewery with really good beers! I’ve tried most of their beers and none of them disappointed. One of my favs is the Armadillo and Rio Bravo

Hands down, best brewery in SGV. I discovered this place probably 2 years ago, cause my dad manages a warehouse literally next door. It’s super ghetto looking outside, but who cares. Their beers selection is pretty big roughly around 10 each time. They usually have at least one of every different types of beer ranging from IPA, DIPA, Belgain, lager, fruity, or wheat. I like their Mustang and Chivalry the most. They have a beer sampler where you can try every beer for around 10 – 15 bucks. And i believe they have a food truck every sat or sun. You can check their IG for dets.

Great beer. Place is smaller than to my liking, but it should not matter because you come for their range of beer. I came on a night when they had a food truck so my experience was even better. Just be aware that the place may be crowded on the night you come.

This is way past due, as we’ve been coming down here for a few years since this place opened. Unfortunately, our favorite beers they used to make are no longer there. The atmosphere is very low key, no décor, and bright industrial.
Staff and owners are very friendly, they make you feel welcome even after a long time since your last visit.
I wish the unique recipies could be brought back, that’s what was making them stand out.

It’s super small so come a little before it gets busy (beginning or before a football game, 1PM, etc.). They have great beers on tap and the 6 beer flight is $ 12 and then they have a 13 beer flight for $ 23 (I think it’s 23?)
They sell chips but you can bring your own food. I saw others bringing in their own pizzas and other snacks. There are also a lot of board games on the tables so you can hang out and play there if the TVs aren’t your forte.
Only downside is that on my last glass of my sampler, I found glittery lip gloss marks on the cup. It was on the side that I didn’t drink from, I realized it when I was ½ way done with it and I was kind of inebriated so I didn’t care as much as I usually would have. I told the bartender as I was ordering a full pour of some beer and he gave it to me on the house although I said I didn’t care but it was nice customer service since that is obviously gross.
Next time I’m here, I’ll for sure try to check the glasses before they’re filled (and before I’m drunk).

This is a fun brewery to try because they are small and definitely off the beaten path. The tasting room is small but adequate and they had three beertenders so there was no problem getting a beer. The girl with the nose ring behind the bar spent as much time checking her phone as pouring beer but I guess that’s the way it goes in 2015.
I tried three fresh hopped IPAs and they were all very good. My favorite was the Raccoon with fresh Crystal hops.

Cool little brewery and tap room, located in an industrial area of South El Monte. They have 13 beers on tap which they brew on the regular and while i was there they also had 2 special limited edition brews as well (but didn’t try).
The beer tasters were 6 for $ 12 or all try all 13 beers for $ 26… yes you read that right, there is no discount if you try them all. I was looking at that math for a second, trying to figure out what the discount would be. I was thinking man this math looks weird. But nope no discount.
As for the beers they brew, as an overall kind of summary after trying their 13 beers. I would say they kind of lack a bit of depth, most had an initial wave of flavor, but then it just goes away. I didn’t care for their Kolsch, Hefeweizen or their Gose style beers too much (my palate doesnt’ really care for the sour kind of beers). So YMMV. Their Armadillo was a good and so was their Calvary. I also liked their Dry Irish Stout.
They have a bunch of benches you can sit at and play board games or what not and I believe they have food trucks that come out here on a regular basis. The prices on their growler fills are reasonable and they’ll even fill up labeled growlers from other breweries.
Cool, spot. Definitely coming back.

Most random location? Check. Most random hours? Check. The idea of a brewery near my house was pretty neat, but it was as good as it could get in this area. It’s super bright inside as I’d prefer it to be in a more dim setting. It was also incredibly crowded and I’m awkwardly standing in he middle of the room with a pint of beer in my hand. They do have a lot of board games, but that’s if you can even snag a seat here. Also, it’s smart of a food truck to park right outside of this place, so that’s nice when you get the munchies. It’s an interesting place for a drink, but not my glass of beer.

So I tell my 21 year old son to come out for beer with me and we drive up to Progressive Brewing. He calls out, «Dad, its a warehouse!». Yeah, I know, its actually a brewing facility that sells samples. He is still like «do we drink it here…». Ah vey, he gets that from his mother. How does a 21 year old son of mine not know about local brewing. My 18 year wants to start brewing in the garage but then again, he is in the industry.
So we order a couple of sample size beers: Bronco [the summer version], Double Bison and Wolverine for me and he gets a selection that includes Wolfhound which tastes like paint. Yeah, don’t drink the paint, I mean Wolfhound. He is a big fan of Guinness but this only compared to Guinness in color. I can’t believe they used Nitrogen in the beer it was so flat.
Anyways, my beers were pretty good. I was not too impressed with the Bronco but the Double Bison and the Wolverine were both great choices. We decided that we would take a Growler home. Of the Wolverine of course!

Cool brewery in the middle of the El Monte business district. Although the area is quite ghetto (trust me I use to live around here), the brewery itself is a diamond in the rough. While some of their beers are hit or miss, I really enjoyed their saison. The best part is that this place fills ANY growler or half growler, whether it has a logo on it or not. Also their fills are cheap, averaging around $ 9 to fill your full growler. Parking can be a pain when it gets busy so you may have to find street parking… which is why I can’t quite recommend coming here when the sun has set. Yeah… I’m no longer invincible :-P

The best small brewery this side of SGV. It’s a slice of heaven. Diego and Kevin and their crew keep things running smoothly.
Can’t say enough of the quality beers. My all time hall of fame: Fat Henry, Minotaur, Cavalry, Bison, Mustang.

So happy to have a wonderful brewery in the area! While I’m not from SEM, I’m close enough to make a nice day out of riding my bike on the trail and having a couple of pints to recap with friends. I’m sure it was a gamble to open in the area and grateful this place exists and serves quality beer to us thirsty eastsiders. The environment is free of pretention and you’ll feel comfortable strolling in, relaxing, and knocking back a few. As an added bonus, they have food trucks in their parking lot if you want to get your snack on. To top it all off, you can just leave your bike in the main room and not worry about locking it up. User friendly at it’s best… and free wifi! Oh yeah, and the beer selection and quality can go head to head with any fancy pants place on the other side of town.

OMG I can’t believe I haven’t come here sooner! The craft beer is fantastic! It’s on the same level with Stone, or any of the local breweries popping up all over LA, but the prices are so much better. Good job city of El Monte for being so business friendly! It means I can afford an extra round or even two.
This is the place to be on a Friday night, it will be standing room only right up until they close at 10pm. Bring your empty growler and take some home with you.

Progress Brewing is almost right off the 60 freeway on Rosemead Blvd! Really random and somewhat small location, but it works. Inside there are 5 picnic style tables for groups and about 10 bar seats available. On each picnic table is some sort of game at one of the ends of the table. BYOG or BYOF (bring your own game or bring your own food). One table behind us got pizza delivered right to their table!
Beer flight 6 for $ 12! Note some beers are seasonal and will change. Cheap tasters and full pours!!! Growlers available. Great team of staff. Great place to hangout with friends! Due to the limited seating, you might find yourself standing for a while. They should put up some standing tables!
Private parking lot available or street parking was also very easy to find.

What a fantastic hidden gem in the SGV. I came here tonight with my brother who is a beer fanatic and we will definitely be coming back.
If you’re new to brewing I highly recommend the 6 beer flight for $ 12. Each beer is 3 oz. and the staff is quite helpful in walking you through everything. My favorite was the Mustang, while my brother enjoyed the Old Henry. Everything was excellently brewed, and I got a chance to chat with Kevin, one of the master brewers and owner of Progress. He was extremely helpful in explaining the different brewing methods behind each beer and you could see his passion for his work. All the staff look like they love what they do and there was such great energy and a really positive atmosphere. On weekends there are food trucks outside to have with your beverage. Some of the food truck staff passed around some pizza and it was pretty good, will definitely try to support these trucks the next time I stop in for a drink. May have to buy a couple of growlers next time too!
