Animal Hospital Of Sayreville

As doctors ourselves, my wife and I are very particular about our healthcare providers, especially for our precious 14 pound Havanese. Dr Spinnazola has been our vet since day one, and we live 30 miles away. Our dog was afflicted with major issues (Lung Worm and collapsing trachea) and Dr Spinnazola guided her back to health and was really helpful for us in dealing with our sick little pup. I recommend Dr Spinnazola to all of my patients for their pets and it is an absolutle pleasure to recommend him to all of you.

because I was looking to get my new puppy spayed and wanted to save a few bucks. I called and made an appointment for a wellness exam just to make sure my puppy is in good health. They were able to schedule me right away and the front desk staff are truly great. Super friendly and informative. That I have 0 complaints about. However, when I brought my puppy into the exam room and the dr showed up, there was no introduction. Dr Izzo examined her for about 10 min even though they told me first visits are usually 30 min. He said she was healthy, checked out her records and asked if i wanted to do some of the optional immunization. I opted for one and after that they said if I want to do the spay, they need to check her blood to make sure everything was okay. I agreed and that pretty much was it. No explanation for caring for puppies, I had to ask about heartgard and frontline protection. Total came out to over $ 200.
Then this is where the scary part comes in. Dr Spin, not the one who examined my pup, called the next day and said that her blood work came out «fine» but he was concerned about some of the lower indicators and he started talking about liver shunts, etc. and suggested I do a bile acid test as precaution. I’m not a vet, I didn’t know any better at the time of the phone call but I was afraid for my pet’s wellbeing so I agreed to it even though I guess it was optional. He said that if it was his dog, he’d do the test. However, after I saw the results myself, I saw that those «low» indicators were just borderline low and as a precaution I got 2 vet friends to take a look and they both said it’s nothing to worry about and the results were «unremarkable». Her liver is totally fine and she exhibits no symptoms of a liver shunts. That was that, i called another vet and brought her in to do another wellness exam and give another opinion on her blood test results. She also agreed that nothing was wrong.
So yea, I guess the saying of you get what you paid for is correct. It’s not worth it to bring your pet to a low cost clinic if they will just try to scare you into another exam for more money.

I’m still trying to find the right words in my heart for just how grateful I am for Dr. Spin & his family/​team. They’e compassionate & personable. They truly care for the life of your family members. Having PCOS I’ve been told I couldn’t have children. My 10 yr old cat Frankie is mine. I’ve raised her & she’s everything to me. No love is too great & no life is too small. This group regained my strength in people.
When I brought Frankie in yesterday, right away everyone was so kind! Dr. Spin knew exactly what the issue was once he looked at her, knew how to handle it & was ready to take care of her. I cried, I was scared for her, my heart fell to pieces. When we discussed her surgery cost, I felt so hopeless, I can’t afford much but I’d give my life for hers. I’ve had her 10 years since she was practically newborn. I had her when I had nothing, I’d do anything for her. Dr. Spin & his team gathered around & Truly felt for me, I’ve never been in a room with people I just met that gave out SO MUCH LOVE & COMFORT. They decided to help me in every way possible to give Frankie this surgery & save her from the worst outcome we could imagine. With the amazing team at the hospital & my family/​friends, Frankie is having her emergency surgery today.
I’m so grateful, touched, & amazed of how great this team is. I recommend the animal hospital of Sayreville to everybody, I will make sure more word gets out of how wonderful they are & how they treat Frankie & I like family. She’s in the best hands & I’m truly thankful. Thank you so much!!!

I got a puppy, and I can’t imagine taking her to anybody else for healthcare. Dr. Spin is amazing with her, he really loves what he does and it shows. He’s so caring and he’s patient with me, he explains everything thoroughly. I highly recommend the Animal Hospital of Sayreville!
