History

Established in 2003.

I have always in enjoyed helping friends to find a home. I work in hi-​tech industry during the 1990’s, trained as a sales person. When I started my real estate career, I joined a company and received annual awards for my sales. I continue to take course to say on top of new laws, and trends from foreclosures to Short sales. Always working on new certification to improve my knowledge and better service my clients needs.

I went to college for a teaching degree but never taught. I went to work for a hi-​tech company and never looked back. I worked my way up to sales manager, of course that was the 90’s and a company from the east coast bought my company and finally closed it down. After changing jobs a few times, I finally realized I wanted to work for myself. Real estate was my opportunity to do that. I love helping people with things, helping people find a house is such a great feeling. I am lucky to do a job I love.

Santa Cruz county is beautiful and diverse and I wonderful to share it with people. My family has been in Santa Cruz since 1866, so I have heard many stories of different areas and events of Santa Cruz. Exploring the redwoods, the beaches and fields, we have it all in Santa Cruz county, just minutes away.

I’ve bought three houses and sold one with Sandy. I can’t recommend her enough. She brings incredible local knowledge to the table to negotiate for her clients. Her professionalism and genuine care for her clients is why I keep coming back. She goes above and beyond; from arranging for landscapers to clean things up, to setting up the movers and cleaners. She puts in the hours and earns her keep. She’s the hardest working agent in Santa Cruz.

I worked with Sandy to purchase two properties last year. I highly recommend Sandy for experienced real estate purchasers — investors especially. She has a strong understanding of the market and can provide advice as to the reasonable price for the area. She is patient in showing properties and is persistent once in contract. She provides constant updates and ensures the other realtors aren’t dragging their feet. She also will reach out to your mortgage company to ensure they are on track. I had the most wonderful experience working with Sandy Hockman as a first time home buyer in Santa Cruz. She is extremeley knowledgeable, reliable, thorough and a just a genuine kind person. Naturally I was very new to the whole process and had million questions. She would patiently explain everything and I would always respond to me so quickly whenever I reached out to her. After our first few visits she understood the type of place I was looking for and acted as a filter which made the whole process less overwhelming. She was never pushy or aggressive, rather she was easy going and proactive. We looked at tons of places and she never lost a beat even when I thought I would never find my dream home. Well I did! And from the searching, to the offer to the close she guided me every step of the way through the lengthy negotiation and documentation process to ensure my interests were met.
Other reviewers have touched on it already but what has suprised me the most is that even after the close and I’m all «moved in» she is still there for me whenever I have a question, need some advice, a local tip on work I need done etc. She is now a great friend and I could not recommend her more highly to anyone looking for an outstanding realtor who is also a true pleasure to work with!

I enjoyed the excellent real estate services of Sandy nearly seven years ago when my family and I relocated to Santa Cruz County. She spent months taking a good part of several Saturdays to show us all options within our price range and preferences. In a very tight market, she was able to find us the perfect home near the beach in Aptos, where we live to this day. What is most important to know about Sandy, though, is that she is there for you long after the sale is completed. I have called on her for assistance various times, most recently this past year, and she is just as cheerful and responsive now as if we were still looking for a home. If you are looking for someone who is bright, energetic, caring, and has a high level of integrity, Sandy is for you. She is also incredibly cute, but then her picture makes that evident :)

Sandy is an amazing realtor. She worked with us for over 2 years, and we are finally moving into our house this weekend. She is so flexible and patient, and knows the area really well. She is wonderful! We are still asking her questions about our new house, and she is still helping us along.
