Blush A Day Spa

I’m giving Blush a 3-​star solely for the courtesy and quality of the massage I received from Leslie. That would be a 5-​star, all the way! Leslie was engaging, funny, and gave me the full 90-​minute massage I paid for.
I give a 1-​star to Dolores, the owner of Blush. There was a huge snafu with the booking of my appointment (to be concurrent with my friend’s services — we each booked two), and Dolores immediately blamed the miscommunication on my friend (error #1 — ALWAYS look into it before blaming… especially the customer). My friend NEVER would’ve booked the services back to back — and she was specifically told WE were to be there by 1:30.
Embarrassingly, I got so frustrated with how she was handling the situation I started to cry (think eye-​leakage, not sobbing). Ridiculous, which only made it worse. The ONLY reason I ended up taking the massage was I would have to pay a 50% cancellation fee — really, all I wanted to do was leave that place. Dolores *graciously* waived the fee for the 2^nd treatment that I didn’t receive.
While waiting for my friend (before I realized my appointment didn’t start for 1.5 HOURS), the place was bustling with activity. They clearly have a loyal following with the local clientele. However, the customer service we received was less-​than-​stellar, and that’s being generous.

Brow waxes from Dolores are THE BEST. She’s fantastic — quick, thorough, and my brows look amazing.

Organized a spa party for a group of girlfriends here. Had a lot of changes and last-​minute cancellations but Dolores accommodated everyone. She was so gracious and everyone had a wonderful time.

I recently went to blush for a day of pampering and was so happy with the services that I received. From the moment I booked my appt I was treated with kindness and care. I called on a Wednesday requesting an appt for that friday for a 3 hr spa package. Not an easy appt to get last minute, but the receptionist made it happen! When I arrived on fri the masseuse was ready and there was no delay. She began with a deep tissue massage with arnica which was amazing. She kept the lights very low and soft spa music was playing. I felt that she was so intuitive to what my body needed. She used just the right amount if pressure to work through tight muscles but not too heavy that I was uncomfortable.
After my 60 min massage she moved to my feet for 30 min of reflexology. I have never had reflexology before and it was heaven! I felt so relaxed. After the bodywork I was moved into the facial room and my esthetician greeted me so sweetly. She was very clear and knowledgable of all of the products and procedures and never once did I feel pressure to add on services or purchase items as I’ve experiences in other places in the past. She had a great light touch and was quick with extractions.
Overall this was an amazing experience and I plan to return many times. I would recommend Blush to anyone looking for a great day spa.

I love this place. It makes me so happy and balanced. I had never had people comment on my eyebrows until I had them done by Delores. Any excuse to go back and be pampered. Tiffany took exceptional care of my mother and made my complexion worthy of compliments from my coworkers who did not know I was having a series done. «Glowing» and «radiant» were my unsolicited feedback by random associates.

I was delighted to find Blush. I booked an appt for a fabulous facial and they delivered as well as a complementatry brow and tint. The owner was beyond gracious and knowledgeable about product information and techniques.
I have facials on a regular basis and worked prior in this industry so I am well aware of customer service and product knowledge I am going back and recommend blush to visitors but especially for locals.

Love love love blush a day spa! I get waxing and facials done and Dolores De Alba is just the best! Very relaxing environment. Danielle, the Spa Coordinator/​Spray Tan Specialist is just as sweet as can be and is so accommodating with appts. Don’t hesitate calling and making an appt for the many services they offer!

I had a great facial at Blush. Tiffany Heiden is a joy to be with — professional and sincerely interested in making the spa experience a great one!

This place was great! LAURA (caps, cause you should request her for a massage/​body scrub) gave me a body scrub and it was absolutely wonderful, my skin felt softer than I ever could remember and I left feeling completely relaxed. I wish I lived in Sonoma so I could go here regularly. Thanks Blush A Day Spa for making my bad week a better one!

As my friend who accompanied me stated: «This place will be memorable because it was so bad.»
This review is for massages only. At first I thought maybe they just didn’t do prenatal massages well — but turns out my non-​pregnant friends also had pretty bad massages as well.
Our background: 4 physical therapists, so we know the body and manual work. I’ve had multiple prenatal massage since being pregnant and this was close to the worst one.
My massage ‘therapist’ was overall too aggressive, had a frenetic energy, gooped way too much lotion on and had no rhyme or reason to the way she worked (would start at a shoulder, go to the neck, 2 seconds on the low back, then back to the neck). She started out my prenatal massage with 1 thin pillow at my head, stating the other ‘therapist’ had taken all the pillows (she then went into the other massage room during my friends’ prenatal massage and took back 1 pillow).
MAJOR NOTE: this place actually charges MORE ($ 23 more) for a prenatal massage than a regular massage, which I have never seen before?! Why charge MORE, when I am essentially getting LESS??? There were no extra pillows, no special techniques used, no fancy pregnancy prone pillow. This pricing is enough to be annoyed by. But most of all — a pregnant lady may be your easiest customer: we are achey! we are tired! We just want a relaxing rub down! Focus on the painful low back! The swollen feet!
OR … not.
It was completely un-​relaxing. The lady first asked me to begin sitting upright … on the massage table (which is weird… I’m naked. Do I hold the sheet over my body while dangling my legs over the side?) So when she came in, I was lying on my side; she said she’d start in side lying — then came at me with a handful of goopy lotion at my shoulder. No light touch or deep breaths to begin. Just SLAP GOOP GOOP. The tiny room had a buzzing light fixture the whole time (not the masseuses’ fault but definitely does not fit under the category of relaxing).
I usually don’t write this long of reviews, because no one wants to read complaining (or complimentary) reviews this long so I’ll end with 2 things.
1. when I was bending my knees to help alleviate my low back, she grabbed a hanging robe and stuffed it under my legs. Resourceful? I guess. Weird? Yes.
2. the other massage lady (via 2 friends’ reviews) was the total opposite: über light touch, would literally do one light skin to skin brush upon her arm and then move to another body part. *apparently her foot massage was good at least.
Seems like if anything, the owner needs to have these two massage each other and honestly critique each other. Maybe things would improve with some feedback because this customer would never recommend this place. I’m bummed they got over $ 400 out of us that weekend… Bad. It was just bad.

Horrible!!! I bought a living social deal for a spa day package for my boyfriend and I and called to schedule an appointment. I spoke to a girl who took down my information and requested date of service and asked if she could have Dolores call me back to confirm that we could do that date. I received a phone call from Dolores and she said she could put us in at 2pm on the Saturday that I had requested. She then handed me back to the first girl to take down my information and set up the appointment. I gave her both my name, my boyfriends name, my email address as well as my phone number. We had an entire weekend planned revolving around this spa day and upon arriving to the spa, we were basically asked what we were doing there. I told them that we had appointments at 2pm. There was apparently no record of my appointment and she basically told me that I must have been mistaken and that if I did not receive a confirmational email that it was never booked. I explained to her that I spoke with someone AND her as well confirming my appointment and that the girl took my info down. She began to look through an appointment book and found all of my information written down with no appointment time/​date. She then proceeded to tell me that I must have been inquiring about a date and they probably gave me available dates (which wasn’t the case because I asked to book a SPECIFIC time on a date) but did not set one up even though I called specifically to SET up an appointment. She later called me to see if we wanted book ¹⁄₃ of the package for both of us knowing full well that we had come in from out of town and had no plans to return to the area.
I will never come back here again because of the lack of professionalism and obvious miscommunication between staff members. The fact that she showed no ownership of the fact that it was a mistake on their part is just unacceptable. If I could give zero stars, I would. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Had a great massage (by Kathryn) and a wonderful pedicure (Jerica) today. Nice spa, good atmosphere and great books too!

Wow! A friend and I used a Groupon here yesterday, and we are hooked. This is a small, intimate spa, so don’t expect «foo foo,» but do expect excellent service and a relaxing atmosphere.
1-​hour intense massage with Leslie was amazing, and she has a great aura about her in working with her clients. Positive and uplifting, which I just happened to need after a few challenging weeks at work/​home.
The owner Delores does a mean (but painless) eyebrow wax and the facial was also done well and there wasn’t a big «product push» at the end (which we all hate about larger salons). She did make product suggestions, but I didn’t feel like I was being sold to. My skin a day later looks and feels refreshed and not broken out or red. And now I’m more likely to go back and buy a product there as well.
Note: If you are looking for the big salon/​spa experience, this isn’t the place for you, which is why some other reviews may be negative. Blush is clean, quiet and intimate — more for 1 – 3 patrons at a time, not large groups of chatty bachelorettes, etc. Enjoy your zen moment.

I find it hilarious that you respond to my review @ 2 yrs after I visited your salon. My original review was TRUE and not FAKE! I’m not a «friend of another salon owner» either. Noelle was the person who did my pedicure and once again was defiantly an awkward experience. I understand that you’re separate from JAC salon, but WHY was a hair stylist from that establishment providing my pedicure then? There was no 75 magazines available, nor «help yourself» food or water during my visit. Unilocal should not remove my posting (because you don’t like it). I was speaking accurately about my visit to your salon… BLUSH A DAY SPA.

It was just okay for me. I got a groupon which includes 60 min Lotus Wei massage, pedicure and 90-​min led light facial therapy.
I really enjoyed the pedicure. She (don’t remember her name) did a good job. They don’t have professional pedicure chairs, so soak your feet in a big basin. I felt weird at first since I’m used to big chairs w massage and jacuzzi. But I felt okay thinking that it may be more sanitary.
Next, the massage. I like deep tissue massages, so I felt it wasn’t hard enough for me. But Lotus Wei massage is a different type of a massage, so it’s not fair to compare. The therapist was friendly, and it was a relaxing experience regardless.
Lastly, the LED light therapy. My skin felt smooth and clean afterwards. Delores told me that my current skin care products are making my skin clogged. That explained why was keep getting white heads. She suggested a skin are line that would be good for me without trying to sell stuff to me. I really appreciate that. Only downside was that the 90-​min facial treatment was cut down to ⁶⁰⁄₇₅ min b/​c other treatments ran longer (so I was told afterwards). I think they need to be mindful and manage time wisely. I didnt ask the other treatments to be longer and cut down my facial.

My wife & I enjoyed the personal treatment using our groupon. We got a massage, facial & scrub. Dolores (the owner) & Kathryn, who worked on us, were both friendly, accommodative & lively. They use natural ingredients & explain things. We’ll be back.

I normally go there for facials and eyebrows, but this time I was blessed with Katherine’s hands! I had such a bad hip pain I thought it was going to have to involve several doctor visits and therapy. One massage from Blush and I was cured, rested and so happy! You should really try it out!

I just spent a great day at Blush with some girlfriends! For as much as we love them, we were in dire need of a spa getaway from our hubbies and kiddos, and a quick trip up to Sonoma was perfect.
Blush is awfully cute. When you walk in, you’re greeted by the owner, Dolores. The reception area has a nice comfy couch, tons of organic and natural skin care products to browse through, «angel» cards, and a whole bevy of essential oils to sniff. Our group of 4, unfortunately, had to be split over two days, as the spa is small and doesn’t have enough treatment rooms. We also bought the groupons, and were informed after purchase that they could only accommodate 2 groupon purchases in a day. No big whoop — M&S were pampered on Saturday, and M and I had our treatments on Sunday.
I had the 90 minute massage with Kathy. She has magic hands. Not the most forceful massage, and I do love me a strong, deep tissue massage, but she seemed to have a 6^th sense about where to find and address the kinks that you didn’t know you have.
Dolores is an experienced esthetician and did all of our facials. We had a great little chat about natural skin care lines, as I’m concerned with hyperpigmentation (sun spots). She recommended a good line, and I purchased the trial size… it’s supposed to last 6 weeks, which I
think will be enough time to notice some difference.
Back to the facial … great great great job. I don’t have sensitive skin and actually like the tingly sensation that I got from the fruit acid serum. The room, although small, has a great chair that was the perfect place to spend 75 minutes after the 90 minute massage wore me out. There were lots of different cleansers and serums and creams and what not, but all of them were from the 97% natural Emergin-​C line. She also did a few blackhead extractions, and had the gentlest hands. I’ve had other facials where I’ve left bruised and feeling not so happy thoughts towards the esthetician after the extraction work, but Dolores was a total pro and knew just how much pressure to apply.
I’d definitely come back if there is another Groupon offer or for a facial alone.

I don’t like to dish, but I’ve been here twice, and wasn’t really impressed with the customer service or the vibe of the place. I’ve only had massage here, so I can’t comment on the facials.
What I can say is that this place is too noisy and small for massage therapy. Each time the massage room felt cramped. The masseuse was amazing, which was cause for my second (and last) visit.
Customer service is not that great. It was hard setting up both appointments (getting a return phone call). The second time I went, the front desk was unmanned from check in to checkout, so the massage therapist unknowingly had to process my entire visit, which was unexpected for both of us.
Whenever I walk or drive by this place, the one and only thought that replays over and over in my mind is this: «Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.»
