Description

Specialties

Mind~Body Therapies to help you heal yourself.

I work on a physical, psychological and energetic level.

My massage training includes Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Connective Tissue, Polarity Therapy, Sports Massage, and Hyrdotherapy. I am attuned to the needs of my clients and seek their input in regard to the pressure that is appropriate for them.

I am capable of a full range of pressure from feather light to deep tissue. I work on a lowered table which make it possible for me to provide more pressure than physical strength alone. I am also sensitive to the more subtle cues that muscles provide.

I am Reiki II certified and come from a training back ground that is Gestalt in nature, taking into account the whole person. This is also reflected by my training in Mental Health Counseling.

History

Established in 2010.

After practicing massage in the Boston area for over 5 years at a lucrative spa, I decided to open my own practice in the middle of a recession. Why would I do that?

I wanted to bring my practice more in line with the reason I became a massage therapist — helping people to understand the connection between their physical holding patterns and the mental blocks that are preventing them from letting go.

I understand that many massage clients are interested primarily in a physical relaxation experience and I encourage those clients’ time of quite self care.

I am also available as a trained ear to help clients to process their experience. This May I completed my Masters in Mental Health Counseling, with a Holistic focus.

Business Owner

My massage training at the Florida School of Massage included Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Connective Tissue, Polarity Therapy, Sports Massage, and Hyrdotherapy. I have had training through Aveda in several body treatment modalities which have included pressure point work and lymphatic drainage. I am also Reiki II certified.

Over the past 3 ½ years I have been focusing on the psychological aspect of well being at Lesley University. My course work there includes Holistic counseling theories, the study of Illness and Wellness, Spirituality and Health, and Biological Basis of Behavior — among many other counseling related courses.

I have experience through internships with individual counseling and group therapy. This includes designing a Mindfulness group working in an inpatient setting for addictions recovery and a Yoga group at a college campus.

I integrate these experiences in my massage practice by educating my clients about other forms of self-care.
