Precision Moving Company

I had to move hundreds of boxes of books and videos along with historical archival materials and a dozen full file cabinets – 360 square feel of material in all – from the old Metro Storage building in Cambridge to a storage facility in Somerville. And the file cabinets went to our office in Arlington – a two story office building without an elevator.
The Precision crew of 5 showed up at 8 am in two trucks and handled the whole job without a hitch. They were all polite, skilled, dedicated and efficient. I was completely satisfied. They were done at 5 pm and the price came in at below bid. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for more.

I hired Precision for a move from Somerville to Natick, and they were amazing! The crew of 3 was fast, polite, and even had some great jokes. They came right on time, explained everything clearly for pricing, and got right to it. When we got to our house in Natick we did a quick walkthrough and everything was put right where we wanted (tip: label your boxes!). They did such a great job they came in well under estimate and I think realized they could have done another move that day. I would recommend these guys to anyone and will be using them any time I need to move again! They made what can be such a stressful event so easy.

Does the thought of moving your own stuff from one place to another excite and enthrall you? Do you prefer to spend your time taking boxes upon boxes from your old place into your car and then drive it over to your new place only to unload there — rinse, repeat? If so, then Precision Moving Company is not for you. Also, you may need some professional help because moving totally sucks.
From quote to every last box into our storage unit, my experience with Precision Moving Company was top notch. After providing an inventory of what needed to be moved, Jennifer (moving manager) provided me with a reasonable quote for 4 guys and a 26′ truck. I paid my $ 200 deposit over the phone and on the morning of my move, the movers were there with the truck within 5 minutes of the expected time.
Upon arrival, Jeff went over the hourly rate and set the expectations. You get charged from the minute they leave their warehouse until they return with the truck. No problem. We walked the crew around the house to let them know what needed to be loaded and what could be left. And then they set off to work.
The entire truck was loaded within 2 hours — with a couple short breaks for the guys. They moved like machines! I think a major part of what helped them move so efficiently was the fact that we had clear paths from each room to the door — and all our crap was pretty organized. All furniture was disassembled and bagged (mattresses) or quilted (dining room tables) without incident.
Once loaded, we caravan-​ed to the storage unit where we left the guys to Tetris the sh*t out of our 10×19 unit. They were finished unloading in less than an hour. We’d been quoted for 8.5 hours of moving and the crew finished it up in 6 — which saved us a considerable amount of money.
The guys were polite, super fast and overall really great. They all seemed to enjoy each others’ company — so it made the whole experience that much better. I can’t say that their job seems fun, but they all were pretty upbeat and seemed to not being having the worst time.
All in all, this was an amazing experience. And we will for sure be using Precision again once we find our next place!

Professional, speedy and careful, these movers are top-​notch. I ended up storing with them for a bit as well, and it was a very easy process. I paid more than I might have because of the two hour minimum, but I still don’t regret it. I highly recommend this company.

Love these guys! I’ve used them a number of times and they’re great. Each move, they show up on time, work quickly and carefully, are courteous, and despite working hard and sweating still manage to smell good. this is important because no one wants dirty, stinky movers touching their easy chairs! I always recommend Precision Moving to friends (and occasionally strangers)

These guys are amazing. My crew consisted of Andy, Jesús, and a third guy (who’s name I can’t remember). They did an amazing job and I can’t imagine how someone could do better. They called before they arrived giving us an ETA on when they’d be there, which was completely on time. They showed up and were very friendly and seemed happy to help me move my stuff. When moving they were very careful and thorough to wrap up and protect things that weren’t packed up properly. They then did a perfect job packing the truck in a way that things wouldn’t get damaged during transport. On top of all of that they worked extremely quickly and were very careful with my stuff.
A+. I would definitely go with these guys again next time I move, no question.

These guys were great. I was moved out of my old place and into the new place in no time. Nothing was damaged or lost and the final price came in well below the initial estimate. The movers were personable and professional and very considerate of our property.

We were impressed with these folks from the very beginning. We elected to have an in-​house visit for an estimate and it was scheduled almost immediately. The estimate gave us a good idea of pricing and what needed doing before the movers showed up. When moving day did arrive, the guys showed up exactly on time and took care of everything. We honestly felt spoiled. Everyone was polite and courteous and jovial and they moved incredibly quickly and the guys even re-​arranged some of our furniture at the last minute so we wouldn’t have to.
In the end, the total cost came to a few hundred dollars less than the estimate, possibly because we’d provided packing materials and had moved a few things ourselves beforehand. We haven’t seen that anything has been damaged or mishandled. These folks did just what they were hired to do and did it well and with a smile. We are very pleased and we would totally call them again for a future move.

We have used Precision twice, though we called them this last time for a particularly long trip across state lines. Our experience each time was awesome! From Jennifer and Damien at the office to Ryan (the foreman of our move), Precision Movers are professional, fast, and communicative. Ryan and his crew took care to explain the insurance policies and to make sure everything (even my random antiques) were packed in a way that was safe and sound. The movers were upbeat and personable. They seem to really love their jobs, which is a big plus. Shout out to Ryan for making our relocation to Vermont painless and quick.

I finally ushered myself into adulthood at 29 by getting professional movers for the first time, and I must say, these guys were AWESOME. Ryan, Ishvan and Kevin were kind, professional, detail-​oriented and fast. They finished their prior job faster than expected and were able to start mine early. They even carried my couch up 8 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS because it wouldn’t fit in the elevator. They disassembled and reassembled my bed and armoire. Ryan even gave me a great recommendation for a pizza place near my new apartment, and it did NOT disappoint. Next time I move, I will definitely be calling precision movers!

We have never used movers before despite being veterans of 7+ moves, but now I’m not sure if I’m totally spoiled forever after my first experience. Put it this way, I literally walked in the door after moving to write this review! Ryan and Istvan moved us today from Cambridge to an ABF trailer. Every step of the way from the initial consultation/​estimate to the guys rolling away was as perfect as I could want it to be. They were prompt, FAST, careful, friendly and super professional. Despite my gross underestimation of how much stuff we had, they had our move down to perfectly at the estimate. I can only imagine how much money I would have saved if I can been more accurate with the quantity (I was almost double what I thought I’d have in terms of boxes). Still, Istvan is some kind of packing/​Tetris genius because he actually shaved off 4 feet from our trailer estimate of 13′ with his perfect packing saving us a nice $ 120 on that end. Plus I love that I can pay in cash with a little discount.
With the two guys and my husband, I was actually in the way and just sat on the step, enjoying myself — it was almost ridiculous that I was enjoying myself (who ever says THAT while moving???). I did extensive research since I’m in a cohort program and we’re all moving all across the country. I was super excited to book Precision Moving based on the reviews but got nervous after hearing my friends’ nightmare moves as they left before me. I shouldn’t have been worried, these reviews are raving for a reason. I HIGHLY recommend Precision Moving Company. I loved them from the beginning when they were so nice to my nervous cat and after they finished moving, they have all the stars I can give them!

They were hands down the BEST movers I have used in the Boston area (they are the fourth company I have used, so I have some basis for comparison). I moved from Somerville to Dedham, with a TON of stuff, including very large pieces of furniture, spread out on two floors of a large apartment– it was a big job! The fellas were super speedy, respectful, patient, friendly, funny, AND, since they were so efficient, the final cost came in at significantly less than the original quote I had from the company (by about $ 500). Well worth the money, and I could not be happier… If you’re looking for movers, these are the guys to call!

I used Precision Moving a couple weeks ago and they were fantastic. I had several stops that needed to be made to pick up everything that was going to my final destination and they were on time to each location. The move itself was challenging because of the narrow sidewalks and insane snow banks in Boston at the moment but the team was extremely efficient and careful. There was no damage to any of my belongings and everything was picked up and moved into my new location within 3 hours. The pricing was also half of what several other moving companies in the area quoted me.
Definitely recommend for anyone moving in the Boston area.

Decided to give this local moving company a try after reading great reviews on Unilocal.My moving service included 3 men and a 20″ truck. The guys were great and greatly reduced the stress involved in moving.
My biggest complaint was that they took longer than they could have. I had enough stuff for a 1 bedroom apartment. My new apartment was just 1 block away from the old one in Somerville. If it hadn’t been for their smoking breaks, they could have easily done the job in 3 hours instead of 4. Also, they didn’t have any other jobs for that day — perhaps that was another reason for them to take it easy? In comparison, another moving company had moved the same amount of stuff from Waltham to Somerville in less than 3 hours. including travel time!
Update 0: I had a conversation with the owners after the move and they promptly addressed my concerns and exceeded my expectations. I would definitely consider them for my next move.

Absolute professionals! Having had bad experiences with movers from craigslist and another moving company, I was amazed with the expertise and effort of the movers at Precision Moving. Thanks for all the Unilocal reviews and ratings. They were helpful so I’m adding my $.02.
I submitted a quote request to three local movers near or in Somerville. The move was from a 1^st floor storage unit in Somerville to a 4^th floor 2-​bedroom apartment in Arlington — no elevator so three flights of stairs! I had roughly 60 boxes, 3-​seater couch, a 3-​shelf bookcase disassembled, kitchen table with 3 chairs, some misc. items — not a lot of stuff. One company, rhymes with Air Poppers, estimated $ 625 for 5hrs work for 3 guys and truck. Precision estimated $ 420-​$ 560 for 3−4hrs work for 3 guys and truck. I got sticker shock with a quote of $ 588-​$ 735 +$ 35 gas for 4−5hrs of work with 2 guys and truck with a company that rhymes with Mental Pliant. I couldn’t imagine paying over $ 700 for this move!!!
I think Precision was closest to what I estimated for how long it would take, 3 – 4 hrs, and also it was closest to the pick-​up location, which helps with the charges, since charges start when the truck leaves to go to the pick up location. Mike had kindly called me to follow up on the email quote, which was nice.
Ok the movers were rockstars and super fast — Jeff, Gadi and Kevin. Gadi was amazing — wrapped the couch all by himself, loaded dollies quickly and he was real gentle wrapping my moms kitchen table :-) Jeff really packs a neat, organized and buttoned up truck. Gadi goes up and down stairs a bit too fast and I even mentioned slowing down because the wet snow made the stairs slippery. So the job was completed in warp speed — 2.5 hours!!! I tipped well 20%+ because the guys put in good effort, did a great job and I felt they took good care of my things.
Lastly, a bag of screws fell and were left in the truck and Mike called to let me know to pick it up, which was great.
I plan on moving again soon and will definitely use them again. I would recommend them. :-)

Great value and service!
I selected Precision Moving Company after reading such great Unilocal reviews. They were super friendly and wonderful via phone, and gave me a reliable quote. The service on the day of our move was awesome– the movers were easy to talk with, worked quickly and efficiently and and made the entire day such a great experience– which I’ve never said about moving day before! We will absolutely use them again and recommend them to others.

Just a quick review here:
They are accommodating, extremely friendly, patient and kind. They moved my stuff quickly– and they were more than helpful when I needed access to it.

We moved from Derry, NH to Woburn, MA at the beginning of July and had such an AMAZING experience with Precision. I’m totally on the bandwagon — these guys are great.
First, booking was a breeze. We requested an estimate online and had a response soon after. The quote was totally reasonable and on par with others we received.
The day of the move, three young guys showed up fifteen minutes early (which I loved) and immediately set to work. We were on the third floor of an apartment complex with no elevator, and it was approximately 90 million degrees outside, but these guy just KILLED IT. They worked like monsters, no complaints, no breaks, and had our two bedroom place emptied and loaded on the truck within 45 minutes. It was INSANE how fast and how hard they worked.
They unloaded equally fast. Everything was undamaged, the guys were nice and polite, and the whole move came in about $ 200 less than our estimate. I can’t say enough good things about this company, but if and when we move next, we will absolutely use them again.

Unfortunately I did not have the awesome experience that led me to hire Precision Moving Company in the first place.
First of all, the good:
The job only took a half hour longer than I was quoted, which was great. I was expecting it to take longer because we lived down a long hallway that was far from the entryway of our building. All of our stuff was moved without a scratch, and the guys took time at the beginning of the job to assess the situation and make sure everything was moved as efficiently as possible.
Now, the not so good:
When I did my initial intake phone call, I was told that the movers would help us disassemble furniture. We own an IKEA platform bed and armoire that wouldn’t fit down our stairs without disassembly. When the movers arrived, they told us that they wouldn’t disassemble the armoire because the back panel was nailed in, and then they said they didn’t have time to disassemble the bed so my husband ended up having to do it. Great.
One of the movers also took the keys out of our filing cabinet before we had a chance to grab them ourselves, and he forgot to give them back to us at the end of the day. I asked the company to locate the keys and mail them to me, and they did, but they were mailed in a plain white envelope that got ripped en route, and thus the keys were lost.
Additionally, the truck was full before all of our stuff had been packed, so we had to make 2 trips back on our own to get the remaining few boxes and disassemble the armoire.
Minor quibble: I painstakingly labeled all of our boxes with the rooms they were supposed to go in, and despite going over which room was which at the new house, some of the boxes were put in the wrong rooms.
I understand that moves suck and don’t always go as planned, but these are areas that I think the company should anticipate as professionals and try to prevent. This was our first time hiring professional movers and we’d always been told it made the experience less stressful, but that wasn’t entirely the case in our situation.

Moving is an awful experience. However, find a great moving company can make that experience just a tiny bit less stressful. In the past I’ve received help from friends to move. It was always a disaster of an experience. This time I decided to be a grown-​up and hire movers. Unilocal seemed pleased with Precision Moving Company’s service so I figured that would work for me.
Getting an estimate for my move was quick and really easy. Damien, the moving coordinator, was quick to respond to emails and extremely professional.
On the morning of the move the truck pulled up 15 minutes early in front of my house. They introduced themselves, got a lay of the apartment and got to moving. In 1.5 hrs I was totally moved out of my old place and moved into my new one. The movers were polite, efficient and professional.
The final cost was about $ 40 cheaper than the estimate. SCORE!
I hate moving, but when I have my next move I will definitely be hiring Precision again.
