I didn’t even get to the «looking at places» stage with the realtor I contacted regarding a listing in Cambridge. I sent an email to Tony Costa after seeing an interesting apartment on Craigslist, and asked if it was still available and when we could check it out. He emailed back in curt, incomplete sentences saying «maybe tomorrow, maybe next day. send phone number if serious. bring all roommates.» Right off the bat, this guy was clearly no-​nonsense, but there was no redemption for Tony. I informed him that the earliest we could all be in one place to check out the apartment was the following week, but that I’d get back to him later to see if it was still available. He then thanked me for wasting his time, and informed me not to email him if I wasn’t ready to take something off the market immediately. Apparently he couldn’t be bothered to be informative or helpful, as «it’s [his] time and gas that goes to waste.» (Direct quotation from email).
I will not be working with Tony Costa, and would need to have a stellar first encounter with any other agent out of this office, because this guys attitude was just abysmal.
Tony. That’s the name to avoid.
