Pizzeria Bella Gulla

Stay away. Completely unreliable service, not worth the bother.

Fail.

Great pizza, haven’t tried anything beyond the usual cheese or pepperoni. We live nearby and the wait time is never more than 10 minutes for take out. It is our regular pizza place for sure.

I never thought I’d say this, but there was waaay too much cheese on my pizza. It was actually unappetizing; the crust didn’t seem cooked through and was super-​doughy, so it would flop over under the enormous mounds of semi-​rubbery mozzarella. I ordered onions, expecting red onions, because what other kind of onions do you put on a pizza? Regular white onions, I guess, which didn’t taste so hot.
There was sooo much grease. I think I paid too much for this…

We forgot to eat dinner on Saturday and decided to order a half veggie, half Brazilian pizza to be delivered one block from where it was made. In my hungry haze, I ordered half Portuguese instead of Brazilian. They told me it would arrive 45 minutes post-​phone call. I called a half hour later upon realizing my mistake. They had not even begun making the pizza yet (which I guess was fortunate). Another 45 minutes later, the soggiest pizza I have ever tasted arrived. They had some good ideas with the Brazilian cuisine-​influenced pizzas. But the execution was abysmal.

This is my favorite pizza place. I think it’s fantastic!

the french fries were excellent. the salad looked fresh. the pizza though was sort of gross. Pretty typical for an average pizza joint. sort of doughy. low grade cheese. poor quality meats. etc, etc. rather greasy. We got the double-​layer crispy pepperoni which was anything but crispy. It at least SOUNDED good.
I was just really disappointed based on the reviews I read here. There’s just no reason to order from here when you can get oggi’s and beauty’s.

The pizza is superb. Really excellent. The crust is perfect, the sauce is tasty, and there is a large amount of very yummy cheese. Delivery is prompt and friendly too, and they have guarana soda, which I really like.

This place is great! Not only is the food great (try to onion rings!) but you’ll never find a nicer person than the guy that owns the place and the staff is great too (last time I walked by one of the guys shouted on the door that he missed us!).

Bella Gulla hits the three most important qualities in a pizza place: value, consistency, and service. They don’t have 30 «specialty» pizzas on the menu, or 6 different «steak bomb» sub concoctions. If you’d like something a bit different, you ask. They make it. It’s so brilliantly simple.

, and they are definitely rocking the online specials. We’re talking $ 6 for an X-​Lg cheese. The wings are also a huge value, since they’re apparently taken from mutant bodybuilding chickens. Seriously, they’re huge.
Add very pleasant service, with reasonable delivery times, and you’ve got a winner in my book.

Nice to see them on foodler. Tried a pizza last night and I have to say it was tasty. I got the margherita. (yes there is an h in there) and I really enjoyed it. There could have been a little less cheese. I really like their crust but it would have been even better without quite so much cheese/​oil that prevented some of it from crisping the way it should. Minor quibble though. really good pizza and really good dough.
Their menu seems a little limited but you can make pretty much whatever pizza you like. It would be nice to see them come up with a few more ‘specialty’ pizzas where they’ve chosen the toppings. Same goes for the calzones. which I’ve yet to try but will definitely be sampling in the near future.

8 bucks for a cheese pizza… who could say no??? its so delicious and always hot (well when you pick it up)…I’m not so sure about delivery since i live very close! Any way the guy who owns this place is so nice… i enjoy supporting this local shop over a chain any day!

Try their margarita (there’s an H in there somewhere, I know it.) pizza. Oh man, I drool for this place.

I became a member of Unilocal just so I could put up a review of this Pizza place. Bella Gulla is located just outside of Union Sq, but it is perhaps the best pizza available in the area. The crust is thin, they put plenty of toppings on your pie and the sauces are very tasty. But perhaps what I like best is the choice of toppings you can choose from– giving you endless possibilities. They do not have a menu online, but it would be worth a trip over to Summer Street to pick up a menu or just call. They deliver too! I live right near this place, and would hate to see it leave.
