Erik Patton photography specializes in creative environmental portraiture for both personal and commercial clients. Whether it’s your wedding day, intimate photos for your partner, or a commercial project, we create photos that you’re sure to love.

Our loft studio in Somerville is home base but a lot of our work takes on location as well. Some of our recent clients include the American Cancer Society (ACS), Save the Harbor, Habitat for Humanity, Tufts University, Winchester Hospital, Opus Design, as well as lots of brides and private boudoir commissions.

History

Established in 2008.

Erik has been a photographer since the advent of digital photography about ten years ago. Using a 3 MP camera he bought while in vacation in Hawaii, he got hooked on making images and working with them on the computer.

The hobby turned serious when he enrolled at the New England School of Photography where he concentrated on editorial portrait photography. While there, he began working as a second photographer to several established professionals to get some real world photo experience.

With school and apprenticing behind him, he launched Erik Patton Photography in 2008 catering to brides and engaged couples. In 2010 he added boudoir photography as well as some commercial work. And in 2012 he opened his own studio in Somerville and hired a business manager to keep everything running smoothly.

He’s looking forward to the future and would love to include you as part of continued success.

Erik and his team are top notch professionals! They make you feel sooo comfortable in front of the camera. Erik is a true artist when it comes to photography — his pictures are absolutely stunning — but more importantly he is is just so nice and wonderful to work with! I would highly recommend Erik!

Erik Patton and his team work wonders. I did a shoot with him last month and was really impressed. Like others have said he’s extremely professional and clearly knows his stuff. He really made me feel comfortable the whole way through. His make-​up artist is awesome, cool and very experienced. I loved how she made me up but I wasn’t really a fan of my hair, not much was done to it but she made it clear «she’s a make-​up artist who happens to do hair». The only reason I’m leaving a star off is because he’s so expensive. I know you get what you pay for and his work is quality but you won’t get outta there under $ 1000. Actually the only thing I was disappointed with is during the consultation I was quoted «about $ 1000» and it was closer to $ 1500 for 10 prints…

I wanted some fun shots for my (ahem)th birthday and found Erik on groupon. The deal was great, though I wish it included more prints at the final stage. That said, I was so thrilled with the shoot itself, I ended up buying an album and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Erik was professional — he explained every step of the process at each stage, made me feel comfortable in my skin on the day of the shoot, and never used high pressure tactics either on the day of the shoot nor for the after-​sales aspect. I really appreciated that aspect.
Both Erik and Lorna were excellent in terms of customer service as well — I ended up having to reschedule my shoot twice due to work travel and they didnt even bat an eyelash. I worked mostly with Lorna on the logistics as well as the after shoot stuff — including making the album/​editing, etc. She was a pleasure to work with — responsive, clear, concise and accommodating.
The shoot itself made me feel great, I dont regret a minute of it, and the few friends I showed the pictures to thought they came out wonderful as well. I would definitely recommend this business.

I wouldn’t define my self as a particularly sensual chick — I’m really more of a goofball. So when I decided to give my hubbs a *very* special present for our first anniversary, I was understandably nervous. I looked through countless area photograpgher’s portfolios and packages and decided that Erik Patton was the right fit for what I was looking for.
Erik is a true artist with a very easy-​going personality. At no point did I feel even remotely uncomfortable. He and his makeup artist/​assistant were nothing but professional and fun! By the end of the shoot I felt like a million bucks, and they worked with me to make sure every photo was PERFECT. They were tasteful studies of light and sensuality — These are way more than naughty pictures.
I never felt any sales pressure when picking my print package. His photos sell themselves. Not only did my hubby’s jaw hit the floor when I gave him the final prints, but I left the experience with maybe just a *little* more sass and extra confidence.

Erik was a fantastic photographer and a consummate professional. I went to him for my boudoir shoot that was to be a wedding gift for my husband. From initial consultation, to shoot, to final image selection, Erik was incredibly professional, describing the process in an objective manner and setting clear expectations for both sides. As other reviewers have mentioned, it’s easy to be nervous going into a boudoir shoot, despite assurances that it will feel very comfortable and will be enjoyable.
I found, to my surprise but certainly not his, that it was an incredibly empowering experience for me, made even more so by Erik and his team. Erik has a very mature yet fun way of approaching this type of shoot, making every type of woman comfortable with the process. I had my make up and hair done by Kerri, which I would highly recommend for anyone doing this type of shoot. Needless to say, I was thrilled with the end result. I did not feel pressured at all regarding what photo package to pick, and only felt limited by the amount of amazing photos that would fit in the book I chose. I got the whole reveal of the book on camera too as part of the gift exchange on our wedding day!
In summary, I would highly recommend Erik and his team for boudoir photography. They are artists and professionals who will make any woman look and feel like a million dollars.

I would highly recommend Erik Patton Photography for any photo needs! I had a great experience with Erik’s team for my budoir photo shoot — everything from the initial consultation and answering my questions, to a great hair/​makeup prep and photo shoot, to my review and purchase. Erik Patton is one of the most genuine, honest, and non-​perverse photographers you can find.
His versatility between weddings, families, and portrait photography is evident when you look through his portfolio, but boudoir photography is his specialty… so think sensual.
He sits you down and explains everything that will happen. He is straightforward with all of the details and won’t do anything unless your completely comfortable with it.
Overall, he’s a great photographer who takes his time, creates a carefree environment, and is not afraid to experiment.
